I was looking for videos of this keyboard, since I just bought one and want to learn more. I saw about your hearing loss and have been dealing with issues myself. I played a gig a few months ago and the monitors were so loud I lost a lot of hearing in my left ear. I've been having other symptoms since then and have been getting steroid injections in my ear. I've been to specialists and they can't figure out what it is, but I'm having the ringing and clogged feeling. All the best to you.
@governorgilf Sorry to hear about your problem. I've never heard about steroid injections for Tinnitus? But, I hope it helps. Can you sleep? Did they test your hearing levels in both ears? Please keep me up to date. Just stop by my channel and drop me a note. I hope things get back to normal over time. My tinnitus has stayed the same for many years. Take care and let me know if you have any questions.
I've never heard of the clogged feeling? Thats different from all the musicians I've talk too.
Wow, Tim!!!! So pleased to see you sticking it through with your music. Your attitude about doing what you can as opposed to giving up says everything about you as a person!!! Congratulations, my friend. I feel so blessed to know you. Keep going!!!! I look forward to hearing you as you continue to move along on your musical journey!! Blessings to you, and yours. min :-)
@practicing4 You're the best, Min! I've been through a lot with all this testing. I'm selling this keyboard tomorrow, so you may see me playing an electronic kit soon. :) I can't live in fear forever. I also lost 10 more pounds. :)
Hope to hear from you more often. Thanks for being such a good friend.
How did you get Tinnitus? I'm always really careful to try and use ear protection all the time when I'm playing music, *nobody* else at my college does, even though we are all given the warnings at induction, it's crazy... I would like think my hearing is quite good but not wearing ear plugs when I'm on stage is painful for me
@RobBrooksMusic Hello, I also wore hearing protection in the last five years of my drum set playing, but growing in my teens I never did. Garage bands from 13-17 years old. I didn't have any build up to this...I just woke up one morning and it was there! It was scary! I was looking through my house trying to find where the noise was coming from. My high end loss is from the cymbals, so I've been living with this for years now. I miss all my kits and just drumming.

Hey Tim - I know that the Tinnitus is a real problem. I hear a small amount when I go to sleep as well but it is really not annoying. I do have to take precautions though to keep it under control and not make it worse. Glad to see you trying all these differnt instruments. Piano is one of the instruments I'd love to be able to play. Maybe in my next life. Take care
Tim good luck with the new Yamaha keyboard. Its beautiful. I admire your tenacity and drive to continue on with music. I could not comment on your nieces video, its beautiful. Wishing you the best always, friend.
@Ajohn13 Thank you, John. My niece just called us last night to tell us she is getting married! Man, I held her in my arms a few years ago when she was born, now she is getting married next June. A few years ago = 27 :)
We are so excited for her! We are very thankful to have her as a niece.
Peace my friend, and thank you for your kind words.
@ANTIKORPproductions Hey ANti! Yes, I'm having fun with all the sounds. Now, I just need some keyboard lessons. :) I am working on chords. Thank you for your friendship. You're one cool guy!
@ANTIKORPproductions Thanks, ANti! I was playing it yesterday, but I need to pick up a stand for it. Just too high on a table. I have some Rockit 5's that sound nice with it.
Much as I would like Rush Limbaugh to get throat cancer, I still felt bad for him having a hearing difficulty.
Similarly Sammy Davis Jr. and Ashford of Ashford & Simpson dying of throat cancer is tragic. Kind of like a painter going blind.
I have Krell amps. Dan D'agostino lost the company to his ex in a divorce. He is hearing impaired and produced audiophile equipment. There's so much room for improvement in audio in production and in hearing aids.
@medizer Thanks for taking the time to watch my video. Sammy Davis Jr. was a favorite of mine for many years.I also agree about the room for improvement in audio and hearing aids. The $5,000 hearings aids that I wore for two weeks gave me migraines everyday! Oh well, got to keep pushing forward.
Hope you enjoy your new keyboard. Sorry to hear about your problems with tinnitus. I am fortunate enough not to suffer from it (at least not yet), but I have blown an eardrum a few times (nothing I did, just extreme internal pressure from earaches finally coming to a boiling point), and suffered from a similar condition (near deafness in that ear and constant ringing) for up to a month at a time while it healed, it's not fun. Thankfully wasn't permanent in my case though (yet).
@AnotherSchmoe Thank you for stopping by and sharing your story. I enjoy your piano playing very much. Sorry to hear about the problems you've had with your hearing. I will enjoy the keyboard. I'll also keep watching your videos.
Hey Tim, great video to introduce the MOX6. It is good to hear you are moving on and not letting the Tinnitus stand in the way. I appreciate the creativity I get from watching your vids. Looking forward to hearding some awesome sounds from the MOX6. Peace \ /
Tim, Love the new system you bought yourself. Looks like it will be loads of fun. As for your Tinnitus, I've had the same problem since about 1995 and it hasn't been any fun. I'm pretty much deaf in my right ear except for the constant Tinnitus that roars like a freight train some days and a running water faucet on other days (good days); I choose to simply take one moment at a time knowing that, it could be worse. I still have my left ear; hopefully it doesnt hurt my flute playing ;-D
@LOVE2Flute Thank you for sharing about your Tinnitus, Pat. I hope that others read this and decide to keep the volumes down a bit. Many people on YouTube have shared their stories with me other the last 3 years. I will do one video on this topic and send it out to YouTube land and hope it helps others.
Thank you for your gift of music to us. Youre music brings me much peace when I need it most.
oh yeah..Good choice Tim..Now that u can arrange & create till your hearts content..I love yamahas keyboard voices , beats & songs ..Just got rid of my old yamaha psr 280 keyboard..I need one like dat..LOL
Hi Tim, my friend! I watched the video three times to get most of it;) About the keyboard/guitar thing: I play both, as you know. It´s not only the loudness and the high frequences of the e-guitar (esp. your sold Fenders), it´s also easier to play a keyboard. Faster learning at the keyboard. First try simple triads on the white keys....
Tinnitus won´t let us stop making music. But we learned our lesson, we turn the volume down and protect our ears. And we still have fun!!
@FrankRMusic Thank you, Frank. How true about the tinnitus. Music will always win. I will will work on the triads like you said. I'm also glad the keyboard will be easier than the guitar. Thank you for all your music support.
Wow I love your keyboard Tim. Yamaha MOX6 is absolutely gorgeous. The sounds are superb because it has the Motif XS sound engine. About your Tinittus, I really hope you feel better. I admire you for not holding back and once a musician, always a musician.
Enjoy your new MOX6 and continue to inpire us with your true musicality! :)
@leohammondb3 Thanks, Leo. You were very helpful to me as to which brand to go with. I'm glad I went with Yamaha! Thank you for your kind words. I'll never give up music...
Sorry to hear about the guitars being too much for your ear, Tim. But it's nice seeing you come up with another instrument. :) Isn't unpacking new stuff just wonderful? ;)
Let the music play in your heart. And on your keyboard for us to listen to. :)
@GreyOwl8 Thank you, Kirstin. Nice to have support from friends like you. I am hoping that this workstation will meet all my needs. My soul is full of beautiful music. Now, I just need to share it with my friends.

We are very glad to hear from you again, our congratulations with your new Yamaha keyboard, we know you love music very much, so, don't give up the good mood !!
Your keyboard looks just great Tim, you have 64 drums, but I know you can drum yourself much better !!!!
So sorry for your hearing Tim, I hope you can recover very soon !!

@chrismayka Hi Chris & Mayka! Thank you for your support. Yes, the keyboard has 64 different drum sets within it. So, I'll have a lot of fun with it. I do plan to take some basic piano lessons around here, and also from videos on YouTube. My hearing & Tinnitus won't get better, but I will try very hard to not let it get worse.
Hey Man, sup ~8^) Hang in there.. Ive been renovating my space, so I havent played in monhts now.. but when I get going again here, it'd be cool to do some music with you.
Great video Tim! I am very excited to see you being able to once again play some music! I know how important it is to you. Let me know if you need any help! And I would love to be one of the first that takes you up on those drum tracks! Once you are comfortable with it be sure to hit me up =D As for the tinnitus: It is an extremely unfortunate situation and I still think you should make a video talking about it. Maybe just one. Because you never know who that can help! Thanks again Tim!
@JonathanHowardGuitar Thank you, Jonathan. I know how much you love music! It great having a friend like you to ask for help with piano, guitar and MIDI question. I think I will do one video on tinnitus. You're right, it may help others to think about NOT standing in front of amps all night at gigs, without paying for it a few years down the road.
Tim So happy you found this! Head phones? Teds fishfry! And the support from your homeboy. ME! I will be watching and waiting like any good friend from Troy! Love your work, even if it is only fun for you. I think its all very cool! Peace and blessings! Jim Best to you! And support from Troy NY
Good to see you uploading videos again - never give your talent up.
I haven't gone into the MOX 6 but it looks very impressive and it will be a great front addition to your Logic Pro set-up. What you could do is get a 2-tier keyboard stand and if you decide later, you could get an 88 note controller keyboard.
@Westsound191 Thank you my friend. I won'y give up. My love of music is too strong. I can't just listen, I have to be part of it. I'll let you know what I do with the setup.

Altho that said - one keyboard should suffice in front of the computer.

All the best my friend.

@Westsound191 Thank you my friend. I won'y give up. My love of music is too strong. I can't just listen, I have to be part of it. I'll let you know what I do with the setup.
Take care,
Tim :-)
