  • I used to play the arcade version of this until there were blisters on my hand and I still never completed the Ultimate level :(

  • Everything you know is wrong

  • Absolute rubbish. MAME INP playback. Show me what's actually above the trackballs you are rolling and THEN maybe we can believe this video.

  • Madness? NO THIS IS PATRICK.

  • I had this on the NES and never reached the last level. That ball controller looks kind of awkward to get used to, but using a D-pad probably made the game harder.

  • im gonna be the dick and say it...................you should of started over when you died (and the way you died on top of that). BUT seeing you play like that, im sure you beat it numerous times without dieing (so YES im being a dick, DEAL WITH IT!!!)

  • Wow! Great skills there. I destroyed many things, when playing this back in the days on Atari ST, one TV included :-)

  • your kung fu is good.

  • It's not even his highest score!

  • MMM? My Mother's Muff

  • HAX! JKJK

  • Learned a couple tricks there, that truly was Marble Madness!

  • OH, TAKE ME TO THE MOUNTAIN!

  • most of us get about 190,000 on a joy pad, but wow 215,000 with a roller ball? he put us to bed. :P

  • Who on earth is the first :-s

  • @khangbob Himself.

  • Santa Claus definitely doesn't exist

  • Actually, it appears this is a modified marble madness cabinet running mame (look at where he presses to start the game - that is not where the credit button is located on the real machine). Still insane though.

  • A great run, but unfortunately isn't a valid TG score because it is set to Super-Easy. This guy could probably beat the record as long as he isn't playing on mame (not sure how he recorded the video feed from the machine he was "playing")

  • @PinballBrendan its possible to direct feed it

  • HOLY FUCK!!! i dont know if tht was real, but if it was, great work!!!

  • I played for hours on this, in the arcades. Now I have it on Mame and can play for free, hehehe. Hell, that guy was better than good.

  • i wasted atleast 10 joysticks on this game.. it just eats them..

  • I have many fond memories and long hours of playing this game. This guy made it look like a breeze!

  • many... i said Many! nights wasted trying to do exactly 1/90th of what he covered here in minutes..... SMH

  • Holy crap! This guy pulled off a lot of moves that I wouldn't have even thought of trying! =O

  • Holy mother-! That's insane!

  • so way to admit that you're the most lifeless faggot alive

  • Took me a lot of tries. Good job! this guy kicks ass!

  • Amazing. I ABSOLUTELY SUCK at this game.

If you think this game looks easy after watching this video, I suggest you try playing it. You will find out why this video is so impressive.

  • wow nice shortcut at the end! I have to go try that now.

  • That is very impressive gameplay! :D

  • That's a great run... contains quite a bit of unexpected shortcuts which are not really obvious.

  • amazing dude!!!!!!!

  • That... Was... Fucking... AWESOME!!!

  • I'm sure it was a real bitch to program (as most things in Assembly Language are) but the fact that it was desgined by a 17 year old is even more amazing. I plunked many quarters in it at our local arcades in the summer of 1984. It was great on the Amiga as well and the stereo soundtrack was killer. Especially on the sixth board.

  • It was programmed in C, not assembly language. I read that it is the first atari game to have been programmed in c. The fact that they used C is one of the reasons the game is so short.

  • Not cool...

  • I remember being amazed at this game. It still was a bit of a watershed-moment game. I was impressed that the Amiga could faithfully reproduce this game (later on it went further). When they brought this out for the C64 I was again amazed that it could even attempt this kind of game. The programming does not look easy.

  • HOLY SHIT !! is correct !!! di you see how fast he spins the roller !!!DAAAAAAAAMN lol!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Two words

    HOLY SHIT!

  • wow i thought this was froms ega too shit is from 1984.. and this guy has way to much time on his hands to be this good in this game hes a animal

  • That foo on Level 3 - - siccz all the way.

  • WOW! That was incredible! he only lost one marble! I was always too careful, but he sped on regardless of bangs and knocks to the marble. I guess as long as you don't destroy the marble, or one of the creatures don't eat it, you can do pretty much what you want! If I ever run upon a marble madness game again, I will remember this video! great job!

  • woah..

  • They should remake it for the wii?

  • Anyone who thinks the console versions of this are harder has obviously never played it with a trackball...

I have an X Arcade Tankstick (which has the trackball embedded in it) and play this quite a lot via MAME, needless to say its a lot easier with a control pad (be it genesis, NES or any other version) and whoever this dude is he deserves kudos for such an impressive performance...

  • That's true. The arcade machine had notoriously low sensitivity levels for the balls, no pun intended.

Translation: you had to spin the balls REALLY HARD to get decent movement onscreen.

  • This guy is just friggin' cheating. That last shortcut made me physically angry :P

  • yeah me too, that last part was really hard.

As a kid my heart was racing and I was shouting ''COME ON, COME ON!'' to the moving blocks while the last seconds were ticking away

  • dude thats prety kickass i cant even get past the 2nd level without dying :D lol

  • lol i thought all the time this game is only for the old sega console XD

  • i hav marble madness 3D on my phone(W910i) and another on my dad's iphone

  • he died once

    :)

  • If you have fond memories of playing this game, you might want to check out Super Marble Roll on the iPhone. It plays a lot like this, using the tilt controls of the iPhone to control the marble.

  • I tried to be good at this game, but never could master it.

  • I loved that game! I was actually good at it.

  • Whoa d00d!

  • LOL wow that's insane

  • This is insane!! D:

OMG, I couldn't even get to the silly race and this guy finished ultimate with 96 seconds left!!

  • i cant belive he died at the end he was almost perfect.

  • Wow, amazing play

  • That is some amazing playing skills!

  • the japanese are just too good at video games. That jin8 guy is the craziest mofo i've ever seen.

  • The music scares the shit out of me

  • @Newnewmodel it reminds me of ecco the dolphin

  • @Newnewmodel love this high ass music

  • @Newnewmodel That plus the sound effects!

  • "Everything You Know is Wrong"?

  • The game says "Everything you know is wrong" because you're racing towards the top of the screen, and uphill, whereas the rest of the game you're racing to the bottom of the screen, and downhill.

Thus, everything you know, thus far in the game, is wrong.

  • I used to play this on NES. I could never beat it quite like this dude can though...that was impressive!

  • no waiii! he so good!

  • MADNESS? THIS IS MARBLES!

  • The music in this game is amazing - and I think it was the first game ever to use FM sound.

Also, it sucks that there are only 5 levels for this great game. They should have made a sequel - or someone should make a mod with more levels.

  • MADNESS??

  • no this is MARBLE MADNEEEEEEES!

  • I'm actually tempted to think it's blasphemy.

  • Crazy great play there, I gotta admit. And a number of stunts I'd have NEVER thought of trying.

And I always wanted to see the big finish of that game. Thanks for posting it.

It just dawned on me, though ... he got less than 3 minutes game play for his coin. Short movie.

I can do that... okay, usually by sucking, wiping out and getting a "Game Over." :-P

  • That was insane.

  • "EVERYTHING YOU KNOW IS WRONG"

    intimidating

  • Just forget the words and sing along

  • i never completated the ultimate, but i had the sega version

  • holy shit

i had this game for years and i cant come close to this d00d

  • omfg O.O

    that was amazing!

  • DANG!!!!!

  • lol this guy is good xD

  • how often must he play that game?! honestly? he knows exactly where to go on each level!

  • I remember this game, the sensitivity is MAD high!!

this guy is a computer, a genius... i mean WTF!

  • Creepy Music

  • damn...and that wasnt even the highest score...

  • Good God, that's ridiculously skilled!

  • haha the music at the end is BADASS

  • I Thought I Was Doing That! Until I Realized...It Was Only A Demo Screen of This Guy Playing...

You Sir, Were Born To Play This Game!

  • The music in this game is so original...and creepy. O_O

  • your a fuckin animal

  • As someone who never made it to stage 6 in this game, I'm humbled and impressed.

  • holy shit

  • Dat's kinda like sonic. Right?

  • o wonder if he has been working on this all his life just thinkin im gonna make a fuckin video of me owing an old game

  • We never see his face.

  • But he died. MMM? More like NUB! Am I right folks! Am I right!

  • Yes.

  • He's probably just Japanese. There's a difference.

  • how exactly is he a "cheating faggot?"

  • 2.17 fail

  • OMG he have teh h4x!!!

  • Unless its the NES version its not impressive. The 2 axis controller style of the NES made this game incredibly difficult, where as the ball style control input in the arcade version made this game significantly easier.

  • The arcade version is a bit harder, most likely due to

1.) your marble's Trak-Ball needing to be spun a lot, thus putting a lot of work against the mechanism, and

2.) the risk of your hands being pinched, thus necessitating the use of gloves.

  • Damn! I want to see him play on Marble Man (if it was ever allowed or released to the public)! [grin]

  • would love to have this game for iphone

  • so cool~

  • Jolly shite!

  • awesome play!

  • Crazy....

  • Cool. =0

  • your good !

  • i use to play this game back in the days

  • Wow I just sat through that....I need a fucking life

  • I can do that with my eyes closed.

Not. I suck at that game. Awesome vid.

  • there is no doubt in my mind that he is asian

  • second.

  • Being Asian doesn't mean you are automatically good at video games. That is just a stereotype.

  • I know right! (My complete opposite of sarcasm)

Being good at a video game makes you a Asian!

  • What in the fuck is this seriously

  • Once again, an example of people not getting sarcasm. Sad.

  • that was 1337

  • damn!

  • MMM. Marble Madness Master? Crazy video, I remember me and my brother playing this game for hours and hours and never beating the last level. Nostalgia.

  • this game is hard, very impressive how easy he makes it look. I love how it is on an arcade too

  • My Lord! That was nice!

  • It's too late. The entire thing is real. May I suggest doing RESEARCH.

Unless you want to be humiliated on YouTube, I suggest you regret your comment and take all the food you possibly can and get out of here.

  • No, THAT'S MY RULING, PAL! And lemme tell you something, Mister-University-of-Miami-Law-School! I TAUGHT at UM for many many years, and you right now are embarassing us! You do NOT show that kind of disrespect! OKAY?! If you don't like what the judge is doing, then you take it to the next forum, but you do NOT sit here and say "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED" like a BABY, when a judge rules against you!

  • Ok now I'm completely confused.

  • I love watching these expert plays of these old games. I learn a lot from these.

  • OMG... o_O

on Midway Arcade Treasures, I can't even do that type of activity because I don't think there's a trackball peripheral that's even compatible with the game.

That is why I plan on investing in a Marble Madness arcade machine.

  • Get a trackball mouse and play it on MAME. Problem solved.

  • Well, at least that's a good solution, partly because I would technically follow the rule of having a copy of the ROMs only if I actually had the game on me (Midway Arcade Treasures).

But although your solution is great (and I certainly don't mind it at all), it does not help with my unfortunate bout with deep sadness...

  • Shit... Undefeatable.

  • HOLY CRAP!!

  • this has got to be easier than the NES version

  • It is harder than it looks. The trackball is very sensitive.

  • yeah but analog controls would make this game much easier. playing with an NES controller is probably harder than this

  • bro this shit was hard as hell wit that controller, i didnt even know there was an arcade version of this [also an arcade fist of the north star!!!] but i still love this game and super glove ball lol i miss NES days

  • Its pathetic when people make racial comments when this has nothing to do with race. if the person who did this was white, nobody would say, "Stupid wigger imbred rednecks faggots"

  • holy crap thats awesome

  • love this game,ah the good old days when your a kid.Playing this game on the nintendo was awesome.

  • i would like to see you do that.

  • I await your video response.

  • ok. i see sarcasm is lost on some people. let me guess. americans by any chance?

  • There is no need to stereotype. Plus this is the internet, so not many people are going to catch a sarcastic statement anyways.

  • let me guess? you're a filthy briton heathen with amazingly straight white teeth? - 100% correct award goes to me.

  • Marble Madness? THIS IS SPARTAAAAA

  • asian, amaZING

  • How much time has he wasted on practicing for this? At the end you can see that at least about half of the scores are his.

Either way, I'm impressed. Big Time.

  • That's so amazing. I can't beat that game that fast. I wish I did, though. D:\

  • what a n00b, died once

  • I'm pretty sure I saw him die twice, by the goal on the last level with the changing platforms.
