The truth of the matter is that Black September wasn't planning on killing any of the athletes. The killings at the airport were the fault of the German authorities. Germany has a Hitler complex and they wanted to prove to the world that they were no longer Nazis, so they tried to save the Jewish athletes but they messed up and got everyone killed.

If you are interested in this check out this documentary : 'a day in september'. Its more factual as it includes an interview with one of the terrorists. It shows that at the start when the terrorists get over the gate is wrong. The Americans were returning from a night out and were drunk and climbed over the fence at the same time the terrorists went over. The only factual part is the fact they helped eachother get over the fence. You should really buy the film, it will blow your mind! :P
