  • LOL at Christian @ 1:10! Oh man. This is certainly entertaining. Two of my favorite pianists! Amazing.

  • "awww yea he old, can't walk, can't even stand up its cutting time" Checkmate...another senior citizen trick.....haha He actually thought he was going to cut the old man.....HAHAH. Oscar don't mess around we his hands touch the keys, yea he holds the keys

  • this proves that God is Spirit. He gave Oscar a great gift, and Oscar could hardly move....until his fingers started moving on the piano. Flesh is one thing. Spirit is another.

  • I like how Oscar was suppressing that lightning-fingered Bop stuff till Christian started dishing it out. Oscar could still play anything better than perhaps anyone else still alive. he went the way of Art Tatum, proving the power of music.

  • Loving it!

Oscar Peterson still had some serious chops then which is amazing!

  • A revelation of sorts. I'm not sure which surprised me more: the existence of this clip, or that Oscar could still play so much piano just over a year before his death. Probably the former...

  • @00s00m

vladimir horowitz was still recording the day before his death. i think pianists are a different kind of human being. oscar had a stroke sometime in the 90's and he still had virtuosity.

  • Hey Christian, You don't know me, but was a Jr the year you graduated, and I was a trombone player in the Jazz band and we played with you once, you are amazing at what you do, and I am certain you will become a household title in the years to come, wish you all the best!

  • Pretty serious!

  • this young soul has an "old" talent. Christian Sands fingertips are gifts from the gods.

  • I think this is one of his last recordings

  • Wow. Thank you for posting this. Seeing Oscar reminds me of Big Pops Arena Liverpool, UK, July 2006. I was lucky enough to see Oscar live. How he struggled to get to the piano. Everyone was out of their seats. Eventually, he sat on the piano stool, the place went deadly quiet and he played. This was an experience that I will never ever forget. It was truly remarkable. God bless you Oscar.

  • keep em comin christian!!!!

  • Christian,

I've been an Oscar fan and jazz pianist for ove 30 years.

All I have to say is this is one of the best videos I've seen.

It must've been amazing to play with Oscar like that. I enjoyed your playing also.

Thanks so much for sharing this. If there's anything more please share it.
