  • Ryan Wells, Jon Szeto , Dre Rice, Cory Lutkus, Tiffany Larsen ....one of the best Junior forms and weapons teams Joe Greenhalgh ever put together. Ryan dominated the NASKA traditional forms and weapons divisions for 4 years straight. All of these kids dominated their divisions.

The KIAI comments usually come from people that haven't competed against the best. Believe me, all of these kids can do their forms without Kia's and still beat everybody. To be competitve in NASKA you need to KIAI..

  • To answer your questions, I've sparred with sensei ryan. He is amazing at sparring, in fact me and him spar every Wednesday at OSFMAC. And a kiai can be any noise to let out air or scare the opponent. For those of you who are trash talking him, need to stop. He has worked very hard for him to get to where he is today. Im sure you wouldnt say this stuff to his face.

  • looks like sanchin kata but i guess its not! why is he yells like that? never heard this kiai before... no wonder people make fun of real karateka.iya yait hoit yai it...

  • too much yelling

  • Just be, and do.. and be, and do, and what you have it this crazy nonesense..

    Dobedobedoo!

Craperooney kids shite - please, does anyone teach real karate these days?

  • yapschtaaaaaaaaaaaaauuu!

  • YATCH!!!...............OOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!! lmao. hilarious. crazy weird dud -.-

  • kinda scary cuz i go to school with him.........

  • shit one crazzy motherfucker lol :P

  • This is hilarious! :D

  • he is good at bo staff and forms but is he good at sparring?

  • LOL i gotta say it would be impossible for NASKA to make a strictly traditional division with no modifications. With so many styles and adaptations there would be as much arguing at tournaments as there is on these message boards. Tradition has no doubt been altered throughout the years in every style on Earth and it is therefore impossible to determine what is traditional and what is not. Its all speculation. Very nice job Ryan!!! The transitions are amazing.

  • i do recognise the real and this aint it.

  • If this kid went to a WKA or WUKO tourmament he wouldn't have done this form. I know this kid is a Isshin Ryu black belt. This was a NASKA tournament where you have to modify to do well. Don't worry, this kid does everything...kata,bo(open/traditional,sais etc.

And patveela......I could make up a bunkai for a man mowing a lawn...don't go down that road!!

To many NASKA haters. Guy's and Gals...believe me when I tell you that most all of the top NASKA competitiors are multi-talented.

  • If one has to modify or create aKata to 'do well',why not rename the catagory, the Modified Kata division, as my argument still stands, it's NOT a Traditional Kata?

Also, being British, I'm not a 'NASKA hater', as there are next to no NASKA events in the UK, so I have no reason to 'hate'.

  • The kid has talent, but I have to ask why this was in the Traditional Kata division. I'm 38 years old and have competed quite succesfully on the British and Irish Traditional Kata circuits for 31 years. I study Okinawan Karate (Shorin-ryu and Ryuei-ryu), and I can state, that if this 'Traditional' Kata was performed at an event sanctioned by WKF, WKA or WUKO, the kid would have been disqualified, as the 'Kata' is a mish mash of Suparimpei, Saifa, Sienchien and some theatrics, not any legit Kata.
