we used 3inch pvc about 3 feet long, caped one end, then used a 45 degree bend then e put a sprinkler valve in it. from there another 45 degree to make it 90, then a back to 3 inch and finally a to a converter t bring it up to 4 inch. all pvc pressure rated, and fittings.
