I K.O. the fear just as quick AND get his camo... make sure you have rotten or poisoned food... shoot him a few times with the MkII and then throw the tainted food... he'll eat it and loose more all the while your plastering him with darts...

I loved this boss fight as when I fought him I was smacked to the ground on regards to trying to steal Fear's food and I pretty much hung in a tree until he was dead.

mgs3= the best game in the world and the best mgs game in the series. it had great gameplay, sound effects, music, storyline, characters..and more. It's the perfect mgs. i wish mgs4 was more like mgs3 where it had good balance of cutscenes and gameplay. mgs4 had way too much cutscnese and some of them were corny.

awesome glitch if you cure the arrows without useing the knife to dig them out they stay sticking out of snake for the rest of that run through. you can get like 50 of them after that the game starts to lag at some parts.

How I fought him : When he is searching for food, I will throw a couple of poison dart frogs. The Fear will eat it and becomes more weaker. Therefore, killing him will be much easier...Try it! note: u can catch the poison dart frogs in the same jungle BEFORE you enter Graniny Gorki Outside Walls.

I believe The Fear is the easiest boss battle in MGS3 as long as you dont have to beat him with the tranq gun to get his camo. I just equip the thermal goggles and shot at him with an automatic gun. But with the MK22, thats another story.

I loved the call out your name, then explode part.

But beyond that, I always prefered the Foxhound unit. They were classics. The later games sort of diluted it. More creative, but less classic. A sniper, a gunman, a heavy weapons guy, a mentalist/psychic dude, an anti-vehicle fight, and a final climactic hth battle. All nicely cliched, and well excecuted.
