a frustrating but fun and classic game for the NES. The furthest I ever got was the 5th level and by then I would barely have any time left

I got it for my birthday one year and it gave me hours of frustration and enjoyment combined. I got so good I could crack the black marble (it's called the black steelie) and the broom that sweeps it up is black and yellow.

You can move so swiftly at the practice race that you can beat the camera and if you have muscle memory by doing it enough times you can finish it 'off camera' which there is no point to, it's just fun.

A friend and I actually beat it together on 2player mode later.

This game definately influenced Snake Rattle N Roll. Even the screaming sound when you fall off a ledge is identical.

2:28 Try it with an NES Advantage turned 45 degrees so that the down/right is pointed down/right and its not so bad. If I remember thats more like how the arcade version was, so I admire them for trying. This game is great with the standard controller or a joystick. One of my first games.

I like how much talking there is in this review. I could finish this game in about 5 minutes and not fall off. You show the wrong ways before the right ways, why? why not just show the best route. The only thing I HATE about MM is that FUCKING annoying "fall" sound... IT'S SO FUCKING ANNOYING!!! Worse than the ARCADE version. What's WORSE is that it's featured in COBRA FUCKING TRIANGLE!!! What the hell were the sound producers on? CRACK!?!?!? Otherwise, the games are awesome, if not, mega difficult.

The graphics are actually surprisingly good on the NES version. Not quite as good as the arcade version, but close. Way better than Rampage NES vs. Rampage Arcade.

This cant be the NES version because that version has a seventh level at the end... kind of a chaos level. I never beat it and only saw my brother play it once, but it was really crazy from what I can remember...

I'm OK at the game and I have to agree that the game (at least the NES version) sucks. The only way it can be any good is if you have trackball controller. Whoever made the game didn't want people to actually enjoy themselves, just make it unnecessarily difficult.

In level 5 the gravity on the ramps is backwards and if you squash the baby bad guys you get 3 extra seconds.

I bought this game on the NES from Woolworths as a kid (or John Menzies, I forget) anyhoo, I remember from the instruction book the 45 degree mode, it told you to holf the pad diagonally.

But it was tough anyway considering the arcade machine was designed with an analogue trackball.

Oh man. "Everything you know is wrong." Words that scared me, the first time I FINALLY got that far...oh man, this game has always haunted me. XD I've never been any good at it. Took me ages to finally beat it legit. Very strange game - but I agree; it IS fun, once you get the hang of it anyway.
