My take on this video is as follows: Coetzee's publishing company have succeeded in persuading the reclusive author to promote his latest book by giving a brief reading on camera. Perhaps one of the conditions thereto was that that be that i.e. that he not also have to submit to being questioned.

I'll guess that the footage was shot in Australia, perhaps even close to Coetzee's home, so as to keep inconvenience down to a minimum.

I enjoyed this very much and would like to see more.
