how mccartney hides his grief before the press and answer to all question not even asked yet to make it quick is remarkable, and it just shows what an amazingly intelligent, yet not glamorously intelligent, guy he is!!!
I could always relate to George and the way he lived his life (probably because my birthday is one day away from his--a fellow Pisces). I couldn't help but shed a few tears at the end of the video. Thanks for uploading it!
Words of Love would have been interesting with George singing lead. It's a 3 part harmony but I always think of John's & Paul's voices being more "visible" on that track.
I know his friend had just died, but that is the most emotional I have ever seen PM in an interview.
Lung cancer..... though it's no secret all 4 of them smoked, by the 1990s Ringo and Paul had quit for good, and George quit for a short while but started again. Gives another warning to all of us never to start smoking and to try hard to quit.
I remember when I first heard he had cancer in June 1998.....well that's when it was announced in the press, but he had it as early as 1997. It's just too bad he died so early. 58 isn't old at all, I thought 58 was old when he died, but now I realize it's nothing.....not old at all.
And it didn't help when some lousy cunt stapped him repeatedly in late 1999. Truly victims of their own fame.
That was a separate bout. He went into remission for that cancer. The cancer that killed him came in February 2001. He was out walking in his garden and he started to cough up blood. Then he went to the Mayo Clinic for surgery, but the cancer had spread to his brain. In the press, they made it out to be much less serious than it was, but George knew as early as May or June that he was going to die.
@record1207 Actually our spirits and our bodies are the same. To put it in different words, thoughts are actions and actions are thoughts, they are the same. I think veyr few people could figure it out on their own. I think george is a great man on a wonderful path.
@record1207 Actually our spirits and our bodies are the same. To put it in different words, thoughts are actions and actions are thoughts, they are the same. I think very few people could figure it out on their own. In any case I think george is a great man on a wonderful path.
Aside from the "Wonderful Tonight" mishap, (I think he really meant "Layla") this was pretty good, a lot of good old footage, never heard Pattie speak before. It was wierd how George Martin gave so much interview time on the day George died.
May the G.A.O.T.U bless you George, and i will try and finish reading that book one day, Chris

Very good documentary.
Although I was aware of most of the
information, it provided it all so well.
George was such a distinct
human being. We'll all miss him,
dearly. Rest in peace, George.
