@OnlineButterfly Sort-of. If you watch the entire episode, Fozzie asks Kermit if he sounds like John Wayne--so he's trying to sound deeper in this skit.

But it's true that his voice wasn't quite finalized at this point in the show.

Here's the list of things that has changed since Season 1: 1. Bigger stars like Bernadette Peters and Peter Sellers 2. The puppet designs changed 3. Some new characters are introduced 4. Pigs in Space debuts 5. Some characters disappeared 6. So did some skits 7. The theme song scene is very different 8. Louise Gold is featured 9. A few performers left the show 10. etc. etc. etc.

All that is true. And I know why about some:

1. many of the guests in Season 1 were close pals of Jim and/or Bernie Brillstein

2. VERY simple to notice ifyou have the patience(or look on Muppet Wiki)

3. Beaker didn't come until Season 2, for example

7. I like the later version of the theme song better

10. one etc. would have to be the introduction of Steve Whitmire in Season 3

If you were able to watch the classic muppet show from their box every week, you'd get more and more upbeat too. I reckon they grew more and more enthusiastic about slating the muppets - that what perked them up.

Although Rowlf is apparently the good guy and Fozzie is apparently the bad guy, Rowlf's hat is black and Fozzie's is white!

Actually, it appears that Rowlf's hat is somewhat dark brown.
