i've owned both bikes,at the same time the busa is more sports in the riding position, the zx14 more relaxed, At full speed with same size riders the zx14 slowly starts to walk away when both bikes at top speed, the zx14 is more comfortable for longer trips , and the zx feels a little smoother. I personally prefer the zx14 overall but both are very fast and great bikes in their own right..... matter of personal choice...... peace

the kaw is faster. suzuki can say what they want, but were it not for the 'gentelmens agreemen' to limit all the bikes to 186moh the bussa would have lost the title long ago. hell, the zx12 was faster than the bussa on paper. they're so close though it isnt really worth arguing.

I can tell all of you guys this. The Hyabusa look is being incorporated into damn near all bikes just take a look , the busa is often imitated but never duplicated i ride an 01 with 100k miles and it still kicks ass. My next bike will be a busa without a doubt.

It's always been Suzuki vs Kawa on the low-end of the market and Yamaha vs Honda on the high-end. You don't mess with Yamaha! (unless you're a Honda of course).
I don't see why you need those 400 cc. Anything over 1000 is just to spoil the looks of a bike and increase weight because the power to weight ration can only be as good as it can be, and you can't improve it over 1000 cc because of something called the laws of physics. Go any faster and cornering goes bye bye. So on a track, a Yamaha YZF-R1 would smoke both these monsters.
You need those bikes, because there is a market for them. Don't just point out the laws of physics, but the laws of economics... There is a demand für 1400ccm, so companys provide a supply.
btw: I agree that cornering is the fun thing about riding a bike, but not everyone thinks so. And yet they have a right to ride the bike they want. If they want 1400ccm, let them have it without questioning the point.

What the hell there's a bike with a helicopter engine in it, and when they asked the manufacturers why they built it they said : "because we can". Anyway, Bigger dimension requires bigger engine for reaching the same acceleration and top speed (and even more) as 1000cc bikes.

Great video, visually very good, except that 5 minutes of black. As for the voice, who cares, it's about the bikes not the narration. Provided good detail and a mixture of riding environments. Picking up a 2008 Busa today, fingers crossed!

I understand this, I own a stretched and lowered zx-14, how you guys are confusing this I am not sure. I merely meant that neither bike is great for 2 people riding together comfortably. My wife and kids both have said they did not care for riding on it.
Both are awesome and top of the food chain for straight line speed on stock bikes. I went with the ZX-14 for comfort. It fits me better than the Busa (I'm 6'1 235 lbs). Still love the Busa. Best FIRST bike: Ninja 250.. pretty easy decision there. Plenty of power, 14sec qtr mile, 0-60 in under 6.. yeah. not many people need more than that for a first timer.

NO.......DO NOT get THIS bike as ur FIRST BIKE!!!!!! do u know how fast this bike is?!!!!!!!!!!!! if anything.....u shouldnt even go above a 600 cc......... riders only use about 30% of a hayabusa's power. and its a heavy bike too. u should get a gsxr600. besides...if u go to a dealer...or a private seller...dont tell them this is ur first bike....cuz they wont sell it to you...TRUST ME
if you are really into performance bikes...a gsxr600 or any 600cc class will do JUST FINE. they look sexy...are loud...VERY agile...and have amazing speed. most 600's get to 160mph. i doubt ull get over 120 though.....or u might kill urself. just take it slow @ first....ull learn. good luck!

The whole video and statistics shit on the zx-14, the busa is faster, more horse power, more agile, and better looking. I personally dont like either do to size and power but id say the busa is my fav. Im a gsxr 750 fan for life! best street bike made, so far.... (yamaha might make that R8, I doubt it though lol)

no it's not, ha! my dad's ninja zx-12r is as fast as the hyabusa so in your face! the 12rs are usually restricted to 186mph but my dad has the derestricted model, go like lighting! he got a scorpion exhaust on it not the stock, it has no baffles so u can imagine how fast that is. and don't come out with shit like thats not true cos it is, i seen it!. what do you know, u havn't seen it i have.
I'd only ride a Liter Bike in any practical sense, but I have equall love of both bikes.
Differences are pretty small, though you favour one eventually.
Kawasaki and Suzuki are great bikes, but don't even think about riding one of these til you've got some exp, they'll kick your ass to the curb and land on you to make sure you remember it, if albiet the last thing you remember.

I am buying a ZX 14 tomorrow. I've been a Suzuki owner for 19 years (you get more 'nookie' on a Suzuki) but I was so impressed by the look of the ZX. At first, I wanted a Hayabusa but all things being about equal, I don't care for the 'one headlight' thing. The ZX looks more modern.
lol for years now every year everyone with kwaks hondas zukis all line up on a gated race track and time there speeds for 3 days constant from Friday lunchtime to late Sunday night well here in uk anyway. all bikes are very close and you can get about 180 to 190 on the full spec stock factory if your lucky you need forced induction to push it over you need some experience if you say otherwise than that or its downhill a turbo busa can do 215+ so can a zx14 turbo'd that is known fact lol
if u look on the jap import suzuki bike site it says the busa will do 202mph stock so there not gonna like but the japs should stick to handling and computer related things
just for giggles you may notice something...all the 1 liter bikes and the busa and the zx14 have similar top speeds..because they are geared and designed not to exceed 186mph from the factory. ZX 14 most people will agree that the 14 is faster other people still hold on to the old busa. Neither of them will exceed 200mph without allot of work. If you think otherwise check your facts and gearing down your bike to make your speedometer less accurate does not make it a 200mph bike.
Let's put the top speed myths to bed, once and for all. No Busa has ever done 215mph without significant engine mods &/or nitrous &/or forced induction. A stock Busa or ZX14 will not reach 190, even without their limiters. It is possible to break 200 on a Busa or ZX14 with an aftermarket (full) exhaust and power commander, but only in favourable conditions (cold air, still or tailwind, compact rider). Much more than 200 is only possible with engine mods, nitrous or forced induction.
the Hyabusa can go more than just 160 MPH.... try 200+... a personal friend of mine said he had one a few years ago and got it to 215 MPH, and never topped it out.

Im getting my M1 soon and I was looking at bikes, I really love the way the hayabusa looks its just so sexy but at the same time 200 horse power? ekk thats alot, but at the same time I dont plan on being stupid with the bike. lollz and I dont Plan on racing it, that takes balls! anyways I wanted your opinion, should I get it as my first bike? O.o or will I just kill myself haha and if its a HORRIBLE Idea what other bikes look like the Hayabusa and are good quality that are better for starting of

NO.......DO NOT get THIS bike as ur FIRST BIKE!!!!!! do u know how fast this bike is?!!!!!!!!!!!! if anything.....u shouldnt even go above a 600 cc......... riders only use about 30% of a hayabusa's power. and its a heavy bike too. u should get a gsxr600. besides...if u go to a dealer...or a private seller...dont tell them this is ur first bike....cuz they wont sell it to you...TRUST ME

if you are really into performance bikes...a gsxr600 or any 600cc class will do JUST FINE. they look sexy...are loud...VERY agile...and have amazing speed. most 600's get to 160mph. i doubt ull get over 120 though.....or u might kill urself. just take it slow @ first....ull learn. good luck!

Terrible idea for a first bike unless you want to kill yourself.
Also, pretty much everyone drops their bike at least once. You don't want to drop a Hayabusa.
A 600 is a better choice but a lot of people will tell you that even that is too fast.

best to buy a used but cherished example of either the
1st gen Busa or the ZX12R
then spend all the cash you've saved on goodies like:
exhaust, new ecu, air filter, steering damper, quick shifter, dyno time, michelin 2ct's, some more 2ct's, some more 2ct's lol
custom paint job? track days etc

ZX12 is nice looking but its tank range is pretty bad. ZX9 is pretty much the same look but with better tank range. Though I do like that ZX-14.

The whole video and statistics shit on the zx-14, the busa is faster, more horse power, more agile, and better looking. I personally dont like either do to size and power but id say the busa is my fav. Im a gsxr 750 fan for life! best street bike made, so far.... (yamaha might make that R8, I doubt it though lol)

no it's not, ha! my dad's ninja zx-12r is as fast as the hyabusa so in your face! the 12rs are usually restricted to 186mph but my dad has the derestricted model, go like lighting! he got a scorpion exhaust on it not the stock, it has no baffles so u can imagine how fast that is. and don't come out with shit like thats not true cos it is, i seen it!. what do you know, u havn't seen it i have.

I'd only ride a Liter Bike in any practical sense, but I have equall love of both bikes.
Differences are pretty small, though you favour one eventually.
Kawasaki and Suzuki are great bikes, but don't even think about riding one of these til you've got some exp, they'll kick your ass to the curb and land on you to make sure you remember it, if albiet the last thing you remember.
+1 on Shit Video, narrator lacks enthusiasm, and comparision testing is flawed because of two different riders.

I am buying a ZX 14 tomorrow. I've been a Suzuki owner for 19 years (you get more 'nookie' on a Suzuki) but I was so impressed by the look of the ZX. At first, I wanted a Hayabusa but all things being about equal, I don't care for the 'one headlight' thing. The ZX looks more modern.

lol for years now every year everyone with kwaks hondas zukis all line up on a gated race track and time there speeds for 3 days constant from Friday lunchtime to late Sunday night well here in uk anyway. all bikes are very close and you can get about 180 to 190 on the full spec stock factory if your lucky you need forced induction to push it over you need some experience if you say otherwise than that or its downhill a turbo busa can do 215+ so can a zx14 turbo'd that is known fact lol

just for giggles you may notice something...all the 1 liter bikes and the busa and the zx14 have similar top speeds..because they are geared and designed not to exceed 186mph from the factory. ZX 14 most people will agree that the 14 is faster other people still hold on to the old busa. Neither of them will exceed 200mph without allot of work. If you think otherwise check your facts and gearing down your bike to make your speedometer less accurate does not make it a 200mph bike.

Let's put the top speed myths to bed, once and for all. No Busa has ever done 215mph without significant engine mods &/or nitrous &/or forced induction. A stock Busa or ZX14 will not reach 190, even without their limiters. It is possible to break 200 on a Busa or ZX14 with an aftermarket (full) exhaust and power commander, but only in favourable conditions (cold air, still or tailwind, compact rider). Much more than 200 is only possible with engine mods, nitrous or forced induction.

the Hyabusa can go more than just 160 MPH.... try 200+... a personal friend of mine said he had one a few years ago and got it to 215 MPH, and never topped it out.
