@popatire23 i just linked this to a friend of mine. we are very much influenced by wolf parade. in addition, we bought an alesis micron for the same reason!
Dan Boeckner is a large part of what makes Wolf Parade great. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy Spencer Krug's songs as well, but his distinctive voice is more of an acquired taste.
are you sure you don't have the two mixed up??... for me krug's lyrics are much more exciting and unpredictable... boeckner sounds good, but doesn't stand out to me much more than any other random indie singer.... probably why i like sunset rubdown more than wolf parade
i read in an online interview that wolf parade's favorite music right now is from a local chicago band called "tin tin can". i listened to some of their stuff and it's pretty good.
"Sometimes we just stay at home and that 's just fine".. I want that urgency.. they need to turn them up!!! I can't even commment on the video. Wolf parade figured me out. They have that blend of scaring people away, and making you still f**king want to listen.. they are too good. This sh*t will straighten you out if your feeling bent...Love it.
Okay. That man who introduced Wolf Parade, yeah, I'm going to kick him. He made Wolf Parade sound like...hmmm.. Hannah Montana? They're not a band for 'kids', they're a band for 'everyone', and as for 'ALL the kids', or whatever, NO ONE I know has heard about them. Which is a good thing. They're too great and original for EVERYONE to know, well I think so.
he says "we talked too LONG", not "THEM". As for there being an interview or not, i dont think so. its the same as snl, they dont actually interview the band, they just play.
they're fairly known. in canada they are god. i love their music. listen to their first album see if you like them at all. may take a little while to digest it. he wasn't being sarcastic. we love them in the states.
I was talking about the host of the show. I'm actually a huge wolf parade fan, basically from the start. I've never met anyone else who likes them (That I haven't shown). I guess "Known" is being taken as a perspective (obviously). Or maybe everyone hates them in Illinois. Hmmm.
Man, my sister showed me a song of theirs(soldiers's grin) about two hours ago, never heard of the band before today, and now I love them. They remind me of Modest Mouse a little bit. Both bands are great though
Whoa, I didn't realize Wolf Parade had made the Late Late Show. Impressive. I do wish they had played a different song... It really isn't one of their best songs, as amazing as it is.
That would have been good, but this was two years ago, man. At Mount Zoomer (including Fine Young Cannibals) was not released yet. Hopefully they get on a talk show with the release of Mount Zoomer aswell.
In terms of song selection it makes sense. They are on TV so they want to reach as many people as possible with one song. "Hearts On Fire" is probably the most easily understood, energetic, and catchiest song they've got.
CYE: Thanks for the info. I just discovered this band and haven't had time to really find out anything about them. I do know, tho' that I love their sound... :-)
@r00zter Yeah. His dad was my English teacher. I'm not surprised at his taste and creative genius. And Yeah...he looks a lot like his dad did then. Intriguing and sexy.
i was just thinking the same thing; they chose this one because the lyrics were more tv friendly. hearing them perform "dear sons" live in concert was an amazing experience.
this song is so good, its the only song they shoulda played and no other bands could of done it or came up with it, FUCK THE MODERN WORLD, AND U MODERN PEOPLE FUCK U AND FUCK UR DOGS
oh,i don't know. i'm not crazy about this song, but i like both singers - kind of a strummer/jones thing, minus the cocaine. though, dan has better songs than this one, and spencer sings the better songs in general. if you want more spencer, listen to sunset rubdown or something.
