  • Sadly, ISU dropped their men's team after being national champs. Just like UCLA, Southern Illinois and other powerhouse programs. Thanks Title IX...

  • Don Hatch was Illinois High School State Ring Champion in 1965. He was very strong. I took 10th in the NAIA Intercollegiate Gymnastics Meet on the still rings. Strength moves were "In", in those days. It wasn't unitl the early and middle 70"s, outside of Fred Dennis, that many still ring specialists were doing "Straight Arm Giants" like they do on the Horizontal Bar. So Don Hatch was great for his day.

  • say what you will, they are much better now

  • Very nice presses! Thank you for posting this.

  • not much has changed in the ring routine since then. Allot of the same moves are being done.

  • no check it out man. thats a triple

  • sorry to bum you out.

    its only a double

  • Sorry to bum you out. That was 1967 - No dowel grips or new cable technolgy. Try that routine without the above equipment. Notice no false grip crosses - flat crosses.

  • That's a great routine. Add a better dismount and it would be competetive nowadays.

  • Plus a straight-arm giant or two.
