ok it downloaded and Ive made it so far that I found out that Hojo is Sephiroth's father. Cid, Barret, and Cloud are all in the 50's by lvl. BUT my prob is that as soon as I kill the final Hojo form it says ff7.exe has stopped working. What do I do to fix that? LET ME KNOW ASAP CAUSE I REALLY WANT TO ADVANCE FARTHER!

@Holynolife you need a number pad to play, if you don't you gotta use the function key (Fn) and the blue numbers on the keyboard (the letter "i", "j", "k", "l" etc.

I downloaded this last night and i am stuck at the New Game, Continue screen. I tried following the directions that is 2 = down, 8 = up and ENTER = select/OK. but i couldn't get that to work. when I press 2 or 8, the small hand doesn't go up or down. how do i fix this prob? i am running Windows 7

@fatchoon I had the same prob on my laptop, if it is a laptop u need to turn number lock on and use the number pad for enter as well then go into the game and change them from there. hope this helps, if not i'm stumped! Oh and even when you change the keys u still need to use the Num Pad when editing character names.

@tannen360 It depends. Do you have a number pad on your laptop (if you are using one?) If so then you will need to navigate with the number pad until you gain control of Cloud. If you don't then you will have to use a gamepad. But if you have an Xbox 360 or ps3 controller, they will work just as fine. the 360 wired controller installs much easier to the pc. The wireless 360 controller will not work though

@dedam85 correction, actually there are 2 patches that work, "9999limitbreak" and "windows XP patch" , also you can use JENOVA program to alter your saves and "Charcter Editor program" wich also edits savegames but with this program you can actually change your stats and they WILL BE saved unlike with JENOVA, but JENOVA can change your characters equipment like weapons and bracers unlike the Character Editor, you gotta know when to use wich program, after 4-5 times you know : )

This isn't the PC version, it's the Ultima Version. The Ultima Version is an unofficial hack of FF7 PC, and some mods and patches wont work on it.

Well I have had that problem, you need to download a program. you need to go and download the "Truemotion 2.0 codec and it should be fine. Also make sure you patched up.

to use the numpad buttons without a numpad hold Fn and then if you look closely you can see number the same colour as fn on letters this is your numpad nums lol now press the numpad plus to pause the game and then scroll to config and click it with fn and return, now select custom controls and now config ya keys. and now ya can play
