I have a variant of this in .32ACP (7.65mm) same as the PPK chambering. It's a Feg Hungary AP~MBP. Looks the same. Reliable little gun, never had any problems with it.
I wonder why the east bloc countries made so many differerent 9x18 pistols that are no better then each other when they could have just copied the Makarov.
@esh325 The mag release is much better on this pistol than the makarov and the CZ-82. The Makarov's mag release is on the bottom of the grip and the CZ 82's grips are so wide that it makes it difficult to push the mag release.
I've enjoyed shooting this gun. I've had issues with the last round firing and the breach not being held open on that last shot which most semi autos do... Also, I've found no way to manually lock it open without an empty clip in the gun...
i have had one for about 3 years now only 3 feed errors in about 500 shots.picked it up for $130 came with 2 clips and a holster. accurate up to about 40 yards. it chambers a .380. ammo used to be 13 bucks a box or so now its 23 to 30 dollars here in idaho. i will keep it tho. the ammo should go back down soon i hope
I'm replacing the recoil spring of my PA63 with a Wolff #13. What other springs would you replace to improve it? I have not shot it a great deal yet since I've only had it about a week but I bought it for many of the reasons you cite. Thanks and any suggestions would be appreciated.
A great concealed carry pistol With a little work. Like painting the blade sight with some white nail polish. New grips without the thumb rest to make it thinner. And a upgrade on the springs. And its cheap too.
So it's just a smaller gun? Sort of reminds me of a Walther PPK. I think SIG makes one that's a small one like that too. Forget what it's called though. P223 or something like that.
Idk. I've never really studied much about Russian-style pistols like the Makarovs, or like the CZ's or stuff like that. I hear some of them are pretty cool. For CC, I prefer the 1911. Slim design. Easy to conceal, great stopping power, good trusted design.
keep in mid though, along with being at least as good a caliber for stopping as a standard 9x19 its a very modest price FIXED barrel gun. That means as long as you don't close your eyes while your shooting and you know how to use the sights...your gonna hit what you aim at. You can find these ANYWHERE for 125 or less to 165.You cant do that with a 1911. For the money Buy one,you wont get rid of it....Plus the ammos cheap...50-60 bucks for 250 rounds.
My FEG AP~MBP is directly modelded after the walther PPK. one of the only major differences is how the slide lock is activated. its event he same bullet (.32 ACP/ 7.65mm)
yep, they are. I have a couple, most accurae pistol I have owned. I have a Hungarian AK too, it is in my only video, best ak besides an arsenal ak. Hungarian guns are A+, love em
I'm so happy that you know Hungarian weapons :D This is a small poor country. We made some good guns one of is the Gepard M6. But the communist sold everything like the gun factory called FEG. :(
I usually put an extra mag in my back pocket but I don't carry with one chambered so I get 14 bullets to walk around with. I take my feg all over just tucked into my waist with a thick belt over it and it never shifts even when I'm running around in the woods. I'm thinking about buying another one just cuz their so cheap and I never want to be without one. Great little gun. I have absolutely no complaints about it.
I paid 155 for one of these and a box of ammo, probably some better deals other places but I'm not complaining. Mine always shoots down and to the left. Can I get this corrected? or is it not worth if for what you pay for one? I still know where the bullet is going to land each time I shoot so maybe its good that way, if anyone gets it from me they will miss. I conceal carry with it everyday tucked in my belt in teh front of my pants and with even a t shirt you can't see it. I really likethisgun
If you've already got where it hits spot on now, it's probably best not to change it. If you did and you did have to use it for defense, you might end up reverting back to where you used to aim and miss.
Once you've figured out the variables, its best not to change them.
I would say that you are tightening too much on the grip combined with anticipating the round going off by slightly jerking forward as you squeez the trigger......
These go for about 125 at gun shows with plenty of ammo. Buy ammo locally and it gets expensive, but pick up a 1000 rounds at the show when you but the pistol and you can't go wrong. They are defintly a nice reliable CCW. I carry one when I can't carry the 1911. The 9x18 has suitable stopping power. I practice double tap center mass for best stopping power. The .45 is better, but weight and size sometimes make the FEG a little more practicle. These are issued by soviet block police departments.
good evening.iam a hungarian policeman.i have also a FÉG PA-63 pistol.this gun in hungary is unmarketable.this is my regulation(?) pistol.i hate it!but the other one FÉG P9R(S&W M59-copy) is better. The most policeman in hungary still use the PA-63.Sorry for my English:-)
I bought mine for $99.95 plus shipping from J&G Sales. They still have them last time I checked. I now have three and while two of them (in exc. condition) have no problems. One I bought in good condition sometimes FTF'd with hollow points, until I replaced the worn out recoil spring.
Everyone says because of their light weight, the recoil is absolutely horrible... judging from this video- it doesn't really look all that bad. What say you on recoil?
I'll chime in here as well... I actually carry one of these. My main complaint is the thumb rest on the grips... forces my hand up a little too high for my liking... gives me a bit of a sharp slab in the web of my hand. You can find aftermarket grips as well as stiffer recoil springs to tame it, but there really isn't all that much recoil considering the gun's weight. I find it comparable to my 1911.

It is maybe the best pistol for CC, due to the weight, size and stopping power. The Makarov bullet is a decent round underestimate by many people.

It only holds 7 shots? that's stupid. Can you get any 8 round mags for it?
paramilitary20 3 years ago
It's a small pistol with a single stack magazine. You could put eight in it if you were willing to keep one in the chamber.
Personally, seven shots is enough for me. If I need more than that, I need a rifle.

i have the .32acp version of the pa63
double action trigger pull is very very high
about 20 lbs single action isnt bad 6 lbs
still not bad for under 100$
the pa63 9x18 also sold for 99$
i dont think it has a drop safety
if you drop on hammer w/safety off goes BANG
i would love to have a .380 Makarov with a ported barrel

Somebody wants to sell me a FEG 1911 45, should I buy it? Would it be a good reliable and sturdy 45?

Depends on the price. FEG makes a good gun, so unless the thing is beat to pieces, it should be a pretty sturdy gun.

I have a P9R, its a great gun and I can see why it would be better for a policeman. It has a higher capacity and shoots a more powerful cartridge.
