Farewell Pontiac. My 1st car was a Firebird. I guess performance isnt so important as economy since the greedy bankers and big business took over. We all have to pinch pennies while they clean up. RIP
Nice video. Yes it is the end of Pontiac but as the owner of a Pontiac I am also happy that GMC decided to be honorable and end Pontiac on a high note. They might be dead but they went out on a high note and with honor. No one can say they did not have good cars in the end. They did not die like AMC did a slow long and sad death, they went out with a Bang Long live the G series like the G8
actually the best case is that GM falls.they haven't gave a shit about anything except the dollar for 35 years.please post a pix of lynn so we all know who to villify
haha, maybe on a different video "Farewell to GM". i don't want them gone all of my family's cars were gm untill i got my mustang then my mom got her stupid nissan
Nobody gives a shit about Canada, hell blame! My 05 Grand Prix GTP Comp G was made there (sure it still has a Flint Buick City Power Plant, but it was assembled in Canada not America!) Maybe if the Grand Prix had remained a true American car we would still have PONTIAC!
To GearHead318. You do know that the production of the Pontiac is officially done in 2010, the next year. Where did you hear that they will be phased out in four years? Next year is their death. Stupid GM, screwed up my only favorite brand. Chasing me to the imports. Bye Bye GM.
yeah i heard that they would be phased out rather than cut completely. like it would be a performance division or something so that its not completely gone. but as for being chased to imports, i think thats a little rash. imprts might be good in some areas (STIs, S2000s, Acuras, etc.) but don't forget that since pontiac was a GM division, alot of their cars can be seen in other brands. for example the Pontiac G5 and the Chevy Cobalt
@catalyst1015 Nope. I ain't putting my toes in that stupid bowtie dealerships. It's my least favorite brand, that I blame for the death of Pontiac. Maybe I'm the only one, but unless they bring back Pontiac with their unique red interior, and the red-arrow logo, I am NEVER going to even bother with the non-Pontiac nonsense. Sorry. GM succeeded in losing one of their loyal buyer who bought nothing but Pontiac.
Look, now I'm not trying to hurt anyone but... Pontiac died in 1980 dude.... the T/A's were shitty after that year, they downsized every damn car they had because of fuel prices.... Its been a slow death for this company...
I know, but I heard that Buick will stay for now because they're good sellers in the Chinese market. Worst case scenario is all of GM will go out of business.
if that happens, I'll never buy GM then. Buick is their only good brand left. I'd rather buy a Lincoln these days over a Cadillac. I'm still bitter over them eliminating Oldsmobile.
Pontiac isn't necessarily going away, they are to be fazed out in the next four years. They may still be around as a high preformance division so its not like they are dead, yet.
gm you fucked up really bad. you had a freat thing going in the g8 pontiac will always be my first fave gm car.

It's sad news for all Pontiac fans. What's worse is that other GM brands may soon disappear. Saab, Hummer, and Saturn possibly.

Don't be surprised if Buick is the next to go...Most Pontiac dealerships sell Buicks as well.
