  • Wierd. I would of thought that the ABT (ABA, now ACMA) would of approved of this. But they did not. The show died in 1992.

  • Could Fat Cat, Percy and his friends do a better job than Sunrise? YES!!!!!!!!!

  • @ThePuraboy TVW7 is now 24 hours, even if they still broadcast Fat Cat every night at 7.30pm.

  • TVW7, continued to use the Fat Cat closedowns, until March 2000, when they began broadcasting 24 hours.

  • @JHollowayNetwork do you have any videos on tvw7 closedowns

  • I've got one thing to say "BRING BACK FAT CAT" who cares if it wasn't politically correct , is that the be all and end all of the way we run the universe now? politically correctness seems more like government brain washing to me.

ok I had a bit more to say as it turns out.

    BrING BACK FAT CAT

  • Can easily see Stokesy keeps the local TV budget all to himself in Perth, Brisbane received none of this local super-serves this year for its 50th.

As a certain former employee of 7 says: shame, shame shame!

  • TVW 7 owned SAS 10 back in 70s and 80s until Mr Skase's mob bought it all. TVW7 made heaps of shows like Fat Cat's Funtime Show on Saturdays and Earlybirds. Fat Cat and his mate Percy were always together on them. The Perth Fat Cat was always very cool. He was not aimed so much at pre schoolers like Fat Cat and Friends was, did NO daggy dancing and used to get up to a bit more mischief. He had different snazzy outifts he wore too. He is still doing the goodnights on TVW and shows around Perth.

  • lol brings back memories, wish i could find a clip from the early bird/funtime show with sunny percy and fat cat as I moved interstate in 87 and none of my friends elsewhere believe that fatcat exsisted anywhere but "fat cat and friends" hell poor victorians and tasmanians never had these good night messages from fat cat, flapper the lephant and humphry bear : ) W.A rocks!!! and thanks for posting this.

  • Fat Cat's Funtime Show and Earlybirds rocked. Perth TV did some good stuff before the era of networking. Percy & Fat Cat were in the Perth Christmas Pageant this year and I think the adults like seeing them more than the kids! They bring us back to simpler times. Our childhoods. We were lucky to grow up in an era of local TV where TV crews visited local areas and we got to be in the audience. Not just some show made in Sydney like today. I feel sorry because local kids miss out these days!

  • NITE fatcat ((HUG)) hehe
