  • Hey Airbus, TAKE THAT losers!

  • Very, very cool.

  • The RAAF provides the RNZAF with all of it's rubber bands. We chuck in a few sheep for the 3air crew's recreation.

  • The RAAF provides all the rubber bands for thr RNZAf

  • lol thats like our most expensive airforce plane hahahaha rnzaf for life lol we definatly need to pay attention to that side of our forces

  • these engines on our 757s sound so fucking awesome.

  • @appleglory The mighty Rolls-Royce RB211. Nothing else in the world sounds like an RB211 at high power settings.

  • climb baby climb...next stop the Moon.

  • beautiful

  • impressive showing from "The Stick".

  • @aboveyourhead - Don't know exactly, but they require over 9000 ft. to taxi for take-off and cruising speed is Mach 0.80, so I'd say he was hauling some serious ass in order to achieve a vertical climb.

  • @Cherryswitch HE was going pretty fast, but even on takeoff, the 757 has one of the most impressive climb performance figures of all airliners. It is a favorite plane to fly amongst many pilots.

  • Please return you seat backs and tables to their normal positions LOL (I know its not commercial) ;)

  • Please return all seat backs to normal position and stow your tables for HOLD THE SNAP ON!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 757 is a real rocket, omg the ending was SCARY

  • Sick!!!! :):):);)

  • Saves a shitload of fuel if commercial airliners are allowed to climb like.

  • @milvipes You would certainly loose some ticket sales! lol

  • @atom2009 Not me! I'd buy tickets for flights like crazy if they did this! I'd be the only guy in the back of the plane going "Weeeeeee!" lol XD

  • so to be replaced by the 787...

  • What? In the RNZAF or in Comercial?

  • HOLY SHIT!

  • SHIIIT! Now i know i can tell the pilot to do this shit so he'll get to the altitude limit faster so i can get my food faster!

  • If you would still have any apetite left.

  • what he said

  • wow...bloody hell...

  • I would just completely lose it if the pilot pulled this off with me aboard...but then again, a vertical climb seems a bit better than a vertical drop.

    IN-friggin-CREDIBLE!

  • i would freak out a bit too but this is either an airshow or a test flight for a pilot in training.

  • HAHA.... I love the name "AnalgesicBalm"

I bet those G forces felt great! :-D

  • I was standing right next to the runway when this plane went by and it sounded awesome!

  • @phogwood545 if this is true i demand to cut off the audio memory part of your brain and have it decoded and implanted into mine so i can hear that sound.

  • @elmataplata Just listen to the video although I must say the real thing was hard to beat :-)

  • impressive turbofans

  • Where's the end of the maneuver?!?! I wanna see how the pilot get out of that climb!

  • The climbout angle in this display is only 45 degrees, but camera angles and the use of the zoom lens make it seem steeper. The pilot recovers by simply nosing it over. This display always impresses the icecream lickers because it's done so close to the crowd which accentuates the angles - seen for a distance directly side on, it's not that amazing - but still sounds good.

  • How fast is this plane going?

  • About 350 knots.

  • thats just under "rip the wings off speed" correct?...lol

  • 'Vne' is the term pilots refer to when you say "rip of the wings speed" haha

  • Did he think he was going to the moon?? lolz :-P

  • I sure wish the ailrlines would do this. Flying would be so much more fun.

I'd pay and sign a waiver, but I also want the pilot to roll it.

  • Oh I had that happen on a Continental Airlines 727 at LAX once. Our rear landing gear hit the runway, then we immediately went into a steep emergency climb to avoid eqiupment on the runway. Its not a pleasant feeling.

  • Well, you would know.

I've never experienced a steep climb like this on an airliner, but it looks like it might be fun.

  • Just fly in a small 50 passenger regional jet. The climb rate for those things is astounding.

  • is this real? how can a 757 do this!?!?

  • Certainly is real. I hope to see it again at the next open day.

  • March 21st this year but the 757 is doing a practice at 9.30 tomorrow morning (4th Feb) to practice for Wings over Wigram.

  • many jets can perform this stunt. There is no danger involved for experienced pilots in doing this. Many people do not realize that many passenger jets can perform very good at steep climbs and turns.

  • there's no other passenger plane I'd rather do that with. the 757 is famous for being quite a bit over-powered.

  • I was desperate to see how he recovered, that's right when the video ended though.

  • @whatzupa Same here... every video of this Zoom climb ends at the same place... The recovery to level flight is where you earn your money....

  • @PotholesInMyLawn It looks like he starts to roll out to the left so I am assuming the pilots opted for a half roll and pull to level inverted the roll back to level. I can see the pushing this bird over for a negative 3 G recovery.

  • Sorry, the C-32 it is.

  • Possibly, but in the RNZAF its simply designated as the 757-200

  • @TheBourneID its a Boeing 757 bud.

  • this military version is called the C- (something)... 42 I think...

  • that plane doubles as new zealands air force AND airline, so i think it had paasengers

  • no...no.. and no..

    =)

  • I'd be happy to fly on that airline :)

  • @drewwscool fail and wrong this had no passengers standard display routine and rules in airshows

  • i wonder how many g's that is

  • was that plane flown by sheep!? :)

  • Bye dear,... have a nice flight...

  • wow! NZ's only jet caught on tape. A rare sight indeed.

  • but wait... WE HAVE 2 !!! :O lol

  • yes lol.

  • I think there is two of that aircraft in our air force. A force to be reckoned with lol

  • We have Jake the Muss, he is our chuck norris

  • Who is going to attack NZ? a bunch of angry coconuts? certainly wont be oz. you guys should just annexe our air force and save some money.

  • i think this will went to outer space

  • So if we get John Key in is he gonna put our hawks back into the fuckin sky or what? lol

  • unfortunatley at this stage no, but hes still to do a defence review.

Besides 'no ones ever gonna attack us' - bah suck my scrotum

  • Great little Air Force! Your A-4Ks and TA-4Ks were comparable to Block 30 F-16s! Is it true that if an American has an NZ residence they could join the Force?

Also, is it true that your P-3Ks are unarmed?

  • i beleive all you need is nz residence and our P3K2s im sure are generally unarmed, but they do train with bombs ect.

  • P3k Orions can and do carry anti-submarine torpedoes I believe can't be too sure but the do have the capability.

  • They also do bomb drop training a few tmes a year. They did this just last month.

  • What the 757s? I think you mean the P3K Orions...

  • yes, youre right, i was replying to a P3K video when i wrote this. i dont know how it ended up here. My other comments got corrupted too.

  • A HUGE JET FIGHTER!!! xD

  • I bet that would have spilled Helen Clarke's coffee

  • She has it coming; She has a big mouth anyway.

  • I am from the U.S. and was wondering about all the negative comments on Helen clark, so I did some research and now I understand! Sounds as if she is one step away from being a communist! She seems to be all for social services, so why doesnt she use them herself to do something about those chompers of hers?

  • SHE GOT RID OF PRETTY MUCH OUR ONLY AIR DEFENCE! AND IT COSTS JUST AS MUCH TO KEEP THEM GROUNDED THAN TO HAVE THEM FLYING!

And what makes things worse, is that they were upgraded, and then scrapped. In my opinion, the bitch needs to go.

  • From what I have seen she is a big socialist, which basically means vote for me and ill take care of you...a nanny state. These morons do not understand, even after years of seeing its failure, that socialism doesnt work, even though they can look at socialist leaning nations and see their slow growth, high unemployment, high numbers on social services etc. Capitalism and free markets are the only way to go they have produced the lowest unemployment and the most prosperous nations on earth.

  • no she just used to get her drivers to take her that fast then slap speeding fines on all us commoners to whom the law applies

  • Indeed, the United plane was gray, but it had windows and a blue underside. The American plane was silver (bare metal), and it, too, had windows. What confuses me is why, or how, you would believe someone who said that the planes that crashed into the WTC were gray w/o windows, when there is plenty of footage that disproves that comment

  • Let alone the fact that all the people on board those flights are missing. What??? Ya think somebody said hey jump on these windowless military jets? Weak. Once again that comment is blown.

  • Millitary?...Reminds me of when the planes crashed into the twin towers...people said it was a gray plane with out windows...Kinda like tihs one??!!

  • haha well cant be us cuz nz airforce only have 2 and i doubt with our military budget we would want to waste one lol

  • Yeah, one guy not people, said the plane was gray with no windows, and he was over two miles away when he saw the plane hit!I find it ridiculous that you conspiracy nuts use this same story from one guy over and over, but just choose to dismiss all the descriptions from hundreds of others that they were commercial airliners!....nutjob!

  • That is really impressive!!!

  • Nice sound...

  • no your thinkin of the US Army Pilots. If he couldnt control single engine aircraft he wouldnt be pulling stunts like that, Especially when we only spend 1% on defence and only have 2 757s.......

  • I am sure the requirements for pilots in the NZ Air Force are the same as pilots for the U.S. Military. You must have 4 year college degree to be a Pilot in any branch of the U.S. Military including helicopter.

  • too bad your wrong. You can become a helicopter pilot in any branch straight out of high school. 3 of my friends are in iraq as Blackhawk pilots, and there only 20, and 21.

  • You are right and I am wrong! I got the previous information from the Air Force website. The U.S army website says they have a program called the 'High School to Flight School' program. The Army is the only branch of the military that has. I find it amusing how instead of just telling me this you had to say it- "too bad you are wrong" in a smart ass manner!

  • watch at 27seconds where he begins a roll!

  • holy crap

  • i had no idea passenger airliners can climb like that, holy shit.

  • Heck yeah! That passenger ship you cram yourself into to fly across the country can pack some serious performance!

  • holy fuck

  • WOW XD

  • But it is the Kiwi way to repair anything. The Orions have been done ( first in the world ) ,Skyhawks were project Kahu, and when HMNZS Canterbury was decommissioned,it could still go faster than a ANZAC frigate..at 33 years of age. Before her boilers were downgraded, she couldn't go full speed because the ANZAC's couldn't keep up!

  • yep. wish we had a good government aye.. its a waste of the best trained defence force in the world! oh well ther stil goin strong with wat they got.

  • a yard of No.8 fencing wire normally does the trick

  • Yep,you summed it perectly. They have more comfy transports than they ever had ,and yet they should be using Air NZ.The F-16 deal was a sweet deal.Next year is election time to vote to have a military OR a UN police force to sort out other counties problems.

  • yea f16s would have been kool.. but problem i have with them is the extensive work kiwis would do to the airframes and shit first because kiwis flyin american... hah! US Seasprites for example we were the only country to modify them properly and now every other country has scraped them while ours are still going strong..

  • Your not wrong.I was involved in the reinforcement of the deck of HMNZS Canterbury. The shit we had to shoehorn in.The Wasp weighed next to nothing, but the deck needed to be strengthened to take a 10 tonne thump...major steelwork.

  • The deck was prefabricated in three sections some 6-8 meters long by thirty odd feet ( the width of the ship ) and each section cut out, cleaned up existing bulkheads etc,and fit the new section and fittings. If the whole deck was removed the ship would have just folded as it was all done in the water.

  • Hey Kenny, I was there that day too and got some great photos, including a closeup of this pass,

dub dub dub murraydouglas dot com /north_auckland

  • sweet :D

  • that baby nearly went vertical, i love the 757

  • HOLY MOTHER OF!!!!!!!!

  • LOL fucken kids in the background, when i was filming the F-111 a stupid kid kept saying 'oh no, hes not gonna fly past - ' oh no hes showing off" "wat a show off!" << Yea its a fuckken airshow there supposed to show off retart
