  • btw. As a follow-up, I contacted HP and it will cost approx. $371.77 CAD (taxes included) to send the laptop in for a diagnostic and full repair (including replacement parts). I'm wondering at this point whether it's even worth it or better to just go out and spend the money on a new laptop.

  • I'm having this exact same display problem with a tx2524ca as well. The unit is approx. 4 years old and well out of warranty. Have you had any luck in resolving the issue? I'm wondering whether it is even worth taking it to an HP support centre or not.

  • I have this exact same problem with a TX 2500. If you go into BIOS, you'll see the same problem as in the video. If that's the case then sadly from what I understand, its motherboard issue due to heat damage. The heat management is really poor on the TX line and if you block the exhaust port, you're at risk of this happening. Even putting the TX into a laptop case while in Sleep mode can cause this over time.

    Hope I'm wrong
