Ps3 is in alot of trouble, microsoft is buy alot of the old exclusives, and to be honest at school the xbox owners to ps3 owners ratio is somthing like 8:1 no joke, probly even higher than that. Also the people i know that do have both an xbox and ps3 don't even play on their ps3 unless they want to play a ps3 exclusive, which these days isn't to damn often. Sony really has to work hard if they want to stay in the console wars, and a price drop would be very helpfull to bring back up their sales
only in USA this is true, in south america, the Xbox 360 is almost unexistant.. we've created the matrix chip (Ciudad del Este) so we can play pirated games on the PS2, and because the PS2 worked so fine, almost everyone buyed the PS3 for the big reliance of the Sony brand.. there are also rumours that Sony is going to create a huge server for all the south american users of the PSN, because we have to create a USA account to play or buy on the store..

It's not that the they started in the eighties, it's that they've been using the same formula since the eighties. Of course they've changed, because the consoles have changed. But 10 Mario parties? Dozens of Mario Spin-offs? "New" Super Mario Bros on the DS was hardly that. I think it says a lot about a console and company when their biggest star from three gens ago is one of their few saving graces today. They've only changed with the tech, they haven't broken any new ground.
The aforementioned Nintendo IPs have been doing the same games for.....twenty...thirty years? Mass Effect, Uncharted, even AC ARE new IPs. They haven't been around for nearly three decades, whilst Mario and co have. Mass Effect hasn't had over a hundred games made about it's protagonist. Mario has. Link has. These IPs are not only old but dry, the same characters for almost three decades. Say what you will about the sequels, but at least they're the 2nd or 3rd game, not the 28th.

My PC is far more powerful than a PS3, and it was only about 400 bucks. It can also do a shit load of other things, as well as having better controls, and free service.

As I have stated, even when I was young and had other purchase my stuff for me, the console is just made to run the game, be it, Sonic or Mario, Halo or Killzone. For the most part you're right. Many people that talk down other consoles do so just to talk it down, or make their console seem superior. For example, I don't like the Wii. I think there aren't enough good games to warrant a purchase. However, I'm not going to go to Wii videos and flame people that do enjoy the Wii, it's all a matter of taste. I thought M!PS was a Japan only release? Anyways, I don't like the Wii's library because the good games are either existing AAA titles (Mario Zelda) that I've already played a thousand times before the Wii or a reboot of a series I've forgotten about. I'm sure when a Kid Icarus game gets made people people will shout about how great the Wii is, except the people that could care less about a twenty year old IP and would rather have something fresh.
I use my TV as my computer monitor.. and if your computer doesn't have a hdmi port just get a VGA to Hdmi cord for your computer. Then bam your tv is your monitor
I have a PS3 and I say the online sucks. Sure it's free and Microsoft charges you up the ass for online but you really do get what you pay for. I have a T1 line and my PS3 in still laggy as shit when my 360 can maintain a good connection with very little lag caused by my shitty router, and my Wii, well I wouldn't know I can't even find the stupid thing. I sure we can all agree that the Dreamcast is best. XP

What I meant was its gona fail becuase of its lack of resources. 1 reason the dreamcast failed was becuase it didn't have a dvd player and the PS2 did. (cont.) For the last few months he only used his Wii for the internet. He even let me borrow it. I was hard pressed to find a game I would even want to rent. Not to mention the "Motion Controls" usually hurt the games I would play more than help. I gave the Wii a genuine chance, with all of the AAA titles you mentioned at my disposal. I had fun the first week, I really did. But whenever I would make the trip to find a new Wii game to play, I was always disappointed.
I know the games you mentioned are good, that's my point. It's been the same fucking games since launch. Metriod,Mario, Zelda, etc etc. Rinse, wash, repeat. Yet almost every three or four months 360 and PS3 (as of recently) owners have a new game to talk about or even play. I've had about 11 different favorite games since I've had my Xbox (I've owned much more). That's about five months. My friend (no bs here) had his Wii for a year. The only games he played? The same ones you mentioned.
Okay, but see what I'm getting at is is that the Wii DOESN'T have tons of great games. When you compare their library it goes about 1great game, 30 shovelware games. There is some bad games for the 360 and PS3 (2 more halos...yay), but only on the Wii isle have I seen a whole rack of different games that were all terrible (I'm talking PETZ Shop awful). "90 percent of everything is crap", haha, I'm not trying to be a dick but you pretty much stated my case on the Wii for me.
I think the wii and 360 kinda both have what the other dosn't, ps3 on the other hand just kinda sucks, except for a few exclusives which usually end up on 360 anyway
Okay, I won't argue that those games were good (except TP, bleh) but you prove a point I made earlier. When people defend the Wii they always bring up the same games, I can usually finish their sentence for them when they name games. Wii has quantity, no doubt it, but quality? It's not about exclusives, it's about overall quality. Wii may have 7 or 8 great games, but when you compare it to the hundreds of awful games they sorta lose the momentum.

x360 is still the platform to get - its sole purpose is games unlike ps3 and just simply put gets more support from developers - the overpriced issue is just one of the things stopping me from purchasing a ps3 - Blu-Ray?.....the future is going to be downloadable content ¬_¬ and i don't own a psp so that function is useless for me as well

It's not that the they started in the eighties, it's that they've been using the same formula since the eighties. Of course they've changed, because the consoles have changed. But 10 Mario parties? Dozens of Mario Spin-offs? "New" Super Mario Bros on the DS was hardly that. I think it says a lot about a console and company when their biggest star from three gens ago is one of their few saving graces today. They've only changed with the tech, they haven't broken any new ground.

The aforementioned Nintendo IPs have been doing the same games for.....twenty...thirty years? Mass Effect, Uncharted, even AC ARE new IPs. They haven't been around for nearly three decades, whilst Mario and co have. Mass Effect hasn't had over a hundred games made about it's protagonist. Mario has. Link has. These IPs are not only old but dry, the same characters for almost three decades. Say what you will about the sequels, but at least they're the 2nd or 3rd game, not the 28th.

As I have stated, even when I was young and had other purchase my stuff for me, the console is just made to run the game, be it, Sonic or Mario, Halo or Killzone. I currently have all current gen consoles, and I didn't buy them all in one weekend, so toss that "too expensive" notion out, everything costs money, I got them over time. I simply like to play video games, I don't go around telling people whats bad about games I dislike.

For the most part you're right. Many people that talk down other consoles do so just to talk it down, or make their console seem superior. For example, I don't like the Wii. I think there aren't enough good games to warrant a purchase. However, I'm not going to go to Wii videos and flame people that do enjoy the Wii, it's all a matter of taste. Anyways, I don't like the Wii's library because the good games are either existing AAA titles (Mario Zelda) that I've already played a thousand times before the Wii or a reboot of a series I've forgotten about. I have a PS3 and I say the online sucks. Sure it's free and Microsoft charges you up the ass for online but you really do get what you pay for. I have a T1 line and my PS3 in still laggy as shit when my 360 can maintain a good connection with very little lag caused by my shitty router, and my Wii, well I wouldn't know I can't even find the stupid thing. I sure we can all agree that the Dreamcast is best. XP

right now in my country the 360pro(60HD+1game) is 240 euros and the cheapest ps3 (1game+80HD) is like 380 euros.
Sony would have to drop the price at least 140 euros to compete with the 360.

oh no dont get me wrong. I loved the dreamcast! I love it and always will. I still have mine and still buying games for it. What I meant was its gona fail becuase of its lack of resources. 1 reason the dreamcast failed was becuase it didn't have a dvd player and the PS2 did. The PS3 is startin to fail becuase of it lack of contributors. E.G Valve. In an interview with the co-founder of Valve softwear said LFD2 and HL2:Ep3 wont be on ps3 cos sony is not helping them with development of porting.

(cont.) For the last few months he only used his Wii for the internet. He even let me borrow it. I was hard pressed to find a game I would even want to rent. Not to mention the "Motion Controls" usually hurt the games I would play more than help. I gave the Wii a genuine chance, with all of the AAA titles you mentioned at my disposal. I had fun the first week, I really did. But whenever I would make the trip to find a new Wii game to play, I was always disappointed.

I know the games you mentioned are good, that's my point. It's been the same fucking games since launch. Metriod,Mario, Zelda, etc etc. Rinse, wash, repeat. Yet almost every three or four months 360 and PS3 (as of recently) owners have a new game to talk about or even play. I've had about 11 different favorite games since I've had my Xbox (I've owned much more). That's about five months. My friend (no bs here) had his Wii for a year. The only games he played? The same ones you mentioned.

Okay, but see what I'm getting at is is that the Wii DOESN'T have tons of great games. When you compare their library it goes about 1great game, 30 shovelware games. There is some bad games for the 360 and PS3 (2 more halos...yay), but only on the Wii isle have I seen a whole rack of different games that were all terrible (I'm talking PETZ Shop awful). Okay, I won't argue that those games were good (except TP, bleh) but you prove a point I made earlier. When people defend the Wii they always bring up the same games, I can usually finish their sentence for them when they name games. Wii has quantity, no doubt it, but quality? It's not about exclusives, it's about overall quality. Wii may have 7 or 8 great games, but when you compare it to the hundreds of awful games they sorta lose the momentum.

The only peripheral I've seen from the Wii is the Wii Motion Plus, and that's an upgrade.
The Wii has a lot of bad third party games, but all of its first party games are worthy of game of the year. Guess what, the 360 targetted the casual gamer with its simple FPS games like CoD and Halo. Same shit.
