  • Trout Magnet is the gift that keeps on giving, I landed a Smallie in a Trout stream yeaterday on Orange/Salmon. It's my #1 Trout Lure to fish during the Spring Trout Stocking and along with some of the Wild Brown Trout streams. Sore Lip 'Em.

  • I love Trout Magnets and fish them in lot's of different ways and I even use them w/a fly rod...and if things are really tough,Just a dab of Garlic Smelly Jelly will almost always kill'em

  • Does anyone know if Bass Pro carry any of these "Trout Magnets"? They look AWESOME and will produce many fish.

  • We are currently the following Bass Pro Shop stores: Memphis, Nashville and Kodak TN, Branson, Columbia, Independence, Springfield, St. Charles MO, Altoona, Council Bluff IA, Destin, FL, Denver CO, Concord NC, Ashland VA, Broken Arrow OK, Clarkesville IN, Rancho Cucamondo, Menpeca CA, E. Peoria, IL, Harrisburg PA, Las Vegas NV, Lawrenceville GA. Olaphe KS, Mesa AR.

  • @lelandslures aww......I live in Alberta and there's a a Bass Pro where I live. Too bad they don't carry these.

  • You can order from our website - where we have a complete product offering and every order ships for only $5.95 everyday.. Check us out at troutmagnet[dot]com. Sore Lip 'Em All..

  • this thing works amazing i caught 10 in about 30 mins not even trying this works better than spinner and bait combined

  • been smacking the heck out of stockies around WV with white lately, they dont seem to like anything but white around here

  • hi i tryed for todays !!! with the trout magnet no luck? it just floats down the creek in fast water ! i tryed every color in the box? tryed with a bob? no bob? no anything? 8 hour two days no trout? any ideas?

  • Trout will not stay in really fast white water unless the oxygen levels are low. They will sit in the area just below the white water as the water starts to get deeper. They will also stay in a narrow seems in the river. You can usually see these seems by watching the bubbles on the water. Drift it close to the bottom in both situations & make it look as naturally as possible. If you hit the bottom you are fishing too deep and move your float to keep the lure off the bottom.

  • Hi, how should I rig my magnet and indicator if my lake has choppy water from the wind or my stream is fast moving and I know that there is a deep pool where the trout are holding close to the bottom? Use a splitshot?

  • You should rig it just we show on the website and in our Set Up video. Set your float so that the Trout Magnet is at the depth the trout are holding. Vary depth until you find them. Our EZ Trout Float makes it "easy" to adjust the depth. We recommend a size "B" split shot, but shy away from anything larger than a "BB". Rigging for fishing a lake and fishing a stream is the same. Depth being the only difference. Sore Lip 'Em All..

  • i was fishing yesterday on a bridge with lots of panfish underneath it and a guy gave me a trout magnet with jig head when i ran out of live bait. i got bites on every cast and caught 10 plus crappie in an hour, but he caught at least 30. its amazing. i want a kit for myself to try on trout.

  • That is awesome. We get stories like this all the time, thanks for sharing yours. You can get any of our kits, heads, floats, line etc. on our website OR by visiting any of the retailers that carry our products. These include but are not limited to regionally: Walmart, Bass Pro Shops, Dicks, Kmart, Cabelas, Acedemy plus the many local bait & tackle shops around the country that carry our products.. Sore Lip 'Em All..

  • @lelandslures i fished again yesterday at the same spot around dusk and the crappies were surface feeding. i ran out of jig heads and used a size 8 baitholder hook with a meal worm colored trout magnet on, no weight. i just let it sink slowly a foot or two underneath and the crappie came up and took the magnet on every cast. caught about 20 fish in less than an hour.

they work great for surface feeding fish.

  • The key to being a great fisherman is to be able to improvise! Congratulations! Of course our shad-dart head nicely balances the Trout Magnet and works best - BUT you have proven that Trout Magnets can also work with whatever you have in a pinch.. Great work! Our Trout Magnets fall horizontal or flat making then irresistable to fish. There are a great many fishermen across the country that use our Trout Magnets for their crappie fishing. Glad you are part of the team..! Sore Lip 'Em All..

  • the trout magnet is by far the best trout lure ever made,

its like giving candy to a baby

i find that black is the best

  • any tips for using the trout magnet in very tiny creeks that have decent size pools of decent sized fish? basiacly just set the leader length to the depth?

  • Tips would include what we have always talked about.. Use light line [2 lb.], use a fluorocarbon leader [2-3 lb - depending on how much underwater hazards there are] - use the "twitch method" if in really shallow water - use the EZ Trout Float in your decent size pools. If you dont know the depth see if you can hang bottom - then adjust float in small increments until the Trout Magnet is just off the bottom. Allow time & distance for Trout Magnet to sink into "the zone" Sore Lip 'Em All..

  • These definitely work on brookies! Our Neon Kit has our best colors. Simply change color combinations to find what works best on your water. We make different colors because each trout water can be different. Start off with our White or Pink. We recommend 2 lb. line. Our S.O.S. 2 lb. breaks at 4.2 lbs. and is a very good co-polymer line with great stretch and abrasion characteristics. For bluegill our Trout Magnets work best. Try our Mealworm Gold or any color in our new Panfish Kit.

  • Does this work on small brook trout? As in the 6-10 inch range? For bluegill would it be better to use a crappie magnet or trout magnet? I've never seen trout fishing as good as in this video, thanks for posting and commenting!

  • you guys are good fishing

  • ive been considering lelands 9ft slow action rod for driftin the magnets as well as other presentations...i like the exposed blank on the rear grip and its lighter line and lure capacity..seems like the ultimate trout rod to me... ? has anyone out there used them with any success and satisfaction ? other 9 ft rods ive found feel too much like a steelhead rod with a montser 15inch rear grip and big huge guides and dont just give me that light feel im lookin for in a trout rod.. any input ?

  • woot! love the trout magnet i've caught bluegills, crappies, white perch, yellow perch, shad, LM bass, and even huge channel cats that have broken the hook ahahaha but since i use light tackle it gives a great fight so that all I'm after

Trout magnet for life! BTW I caught a 7lbs bass the other day while fishing for crappies on it, best fishing day so far for me!

  • Congratulations on your great catching. The "Secret Is Out".. Trout Magnets are great on a variety of species as your comment testifies to.

Thank you for your kind words..

    Sore Lip 'Em All..

  • Awesome! Im doing some trout fishing tomorow. Never caught anything with a trout magnet though. But tomorow ill be sure to try it. Loved the video, you just got another subscriber!

  • can u catch any size trout on them?

  • YES - we have been blessed to catch trout up to 8lbs on 2lb SOS line.. We regularly catch 14-18" trout. Light line is key. Set you drag right, hold on and have fun..

  • @Iwreckallyotes YES - We catch trout of all sizes on Trout Magnets. Goto our website and check out our Gallery page for pics of trout and other fish ALL caught using our Trout Magnet products...

  • I live in Gatlinburg and caught the biggest trout of my life in the first hole you show in Gatlinburg, never really had success with a trout magnet though.Good video though.

  • @JClaboFishing -- Light line is the key to making Trout Magnet work. Give them a try again paying close attention to the details we cover in the video's on our website. Dead drift them just off the stream bottom. We use 2 lb test. Our SOS 2lb line is very strong and also has excellent stretch & abrasion characteristics. I think the Ace Hardware out on 321 carries our products as does the Smoky Mountain Angler. They can get you whatever you need when they order. Sore Lip 'Em All..

  • where were you fishing when the rob guy wasn't using florocarbon?

  • We were fishing in Gatlinburg TN in January-February. We were in the hole behind The Peddler restaurant.. In the first segment in Gatlinburg we were in the hole in front of Christus Gardens. Light line is key to successfully fishing the Trout Magnet. Watch our video's and visit our website for more info.. Good luck..

  • do u have to use a 2lb test. cause my real line is a 4lb but i can use 2lb fluro carbon leader wright. and wat if im fishing off a bridge and send my line under the bridge.

  • Trout have very keen senses. In clear water fluorocarbon is essential for increasing the number of hook ups you will get. It gives you an edge and will increase your catching. Fluorocarbon does not stretch like mono and is therefore not recomended as a main line in small test lines like we recomend. Sore Lip 'Em All...

  • I do agree floro gives you a slight advantage. part of the reason was were he was standing.

  • so what do you perfer for a main line? i have 8lb. test p-line floroclear and that stuff is REAL thin! i love it, but ive been thinkin about using the new trilene 100% in 4lb. for a leader?

  • We like 2lb or 4lb for the main line. Our SOS co-polymer lines are the perfect balance of color, diameter and strength. We don't like using fluorocarbon as a main line due to its inherent lack of stretch. Flourocarbon for a leader is PERFECT. Use about 18 inches above the Trout Magnet. Our Pro Staff never fishes without a fluorocarbon leader. Our Phantom Fluorocarbon is priced right for 50 meter. Give it a try sometime. Sore Lip 'Em All...

  • what pound test is your main line and how long of a leader is the fluoro and test.? cause ive been thinkin about runnin 6lb. mono as my main and 4lb fluoro as a leader i just dont know how long the leader should? NICE FISHING by the way!
