  • so who or was andy griffith?

  • such a beautiful and timeless design. these cars are so nice. i wish it ran though.

  • Actually it's not a Galaxie. It's a Fairlane, the cheaper model in the big Ford line for 1961...It's got an FE series big block (probably a 390), Fordomatic transmission, power steering, manual brakes, radio delete. Probably that way a cop car would have been ordered back in '61...

  • Always loved the 61' cat tail lights/cat ear wings.

  • A nice blast from the past.

  • I think I know this car. It's been in a flood, yes?

  • Hey,

? what does this mean "it does not fun". Do you mean it does not run???

  • i live in mt.airy and they have 2 of these riding around town all the time

  • This video broke my heart....

  • they dont make them like they used to.

  • Yeah, in 1961 it was rare that anyone would think of popping your hood to jack your battery or crosswire your engine.

  • nice car wrong red light thats a federal model 17 it should be a mars rb364 very rare light to find.

  • gotta love the classics. that is truely a one of a kind

  • I have a '61 Ford, too. Drives like a dream. Love her! Currently being repainted light pink.

  • what a piece of shit, that was the cheapest galaxy you could buy in 1961 no options at all no power steering or brakes, my parents have a 64 xl 500 now thats a sick galaxy

  • I remember seeing this car down at myers lake one summer night back in 61.i think barney and thelma lou were in the back seat having a little fun.i was just a young kid back then. cool what memories.

  • Pretty nice car! It reminds me the Ford Falcons of the 60's in details like the mirror, the door opening levers. What a pitty it doesn't work, but as long as the body remains in good shape it is not impossible to fix or replace, Iguess.

    Greetings from Argentina!

  • The vinyl on the back seat is in horrible condition due to Otis barfing all over it when Barney had to haul him off to jail every day for public intoxication ... LOL.

  • I think it's a 292 with a Fordomatic. That's not an FE block-it's a Y-Block& I don't think that Ford did the 312 in 61. I think, that the only Y-blck available then was the 292 with a 2-barrell, although I'm willing to be proved wrong if anyone knows better. Looks like the body is pretty solid & straight & wouldn't be too difficult to restore--the interior could be another story.

  • Wonder what was wrong with it

  • classic!!! i love it

  • old old car but it is nice you can put a new motor in it

  • That car is amazing. I would buy it and then restore it if I could

  • don't leave it parked on the grass for long term it will rot the floorboards

  • nice Old Car why doesnt it run ? looks like a good motor

  • Christ we have a 1960 Ford Galaxy in the philippines my dad bought it in 1967 we still have the car up to now but its in the repair shop for body works and it has been their since 2005 hahahahahahaha its been decades ..... lol

  • Pretty basic car no radio clock power brakes or windows. But they were about $2500 when new.

  • That car has a power antenna?

What car does our father have now that his Escalade is gone?

  • that 34k could be 134k cause i think it turns back over when it hits 100k

  • Haha there's no tellin, but I think it's a safe bet that it has more miles than 34k haha

  • lol

  • @rob16875 ur right my 1970 ford f100 and mustang do it ford did so there no way to really tell unless you wrote it down

  • who ever owned this doesn't know the true value of it how much is it?

  • a police car??? wow lol

  • It's amazing how cars have evolved in just a mere 50 years.

  • they had electric cooling fans back then or did someone else put them on

  • That is an awesome looking car.

  • Damn that's pretty well worn out, funny about the hood release, my grandfather's 1957 Beetle has a traditional hood release inside the vehicle, I wish there wasn't snow all over the place, I want to drive it!!

  • AM I DREAMING?! dats old!

  • all metal dash....now that would last a long time, but ina crash, i think id rather have my face smashing agaisnt a vynal dash (or airbag lol) then an all metal dash XD

  • Now... THAT'S A CAR! Does it got a 352? So sad to see it sitting around, someone needs to get it running. My grandpa had a 65 burgundy exterior/interior one.

  • The early sixties was awesome for car design. Dropping the pointy parts and still keeping the chrome, but not quite the mid sixties design. They were more conservative in styling but still had liberal amounts of chrome.

  • ford galaxie has a nice ring to it lol

  • sweet car! someone needs to restore it!!!

  • this car is such a classic i can't even call it a POS. but i thought the '86 Silverado was a pretty far fetch from your Lexus, look at this thing. for being a '61 it doesn't have a whole lot of rust.....i wonder when it was restored.

  • That is such a cool car. That would be a good car for someone to restore. Was it owned by somebody or some company or just an abandoned car?

  • Wow. These were the old cars that had those old big V8s in them. 5/5

  • Why dont you offer to buy it Kyle? That would be a fantastic project and worth alot once complete.

  • Thats pretty cool. Thanks for all the awesome vids, man!

  • Anytime, glad you're liking them!

  • love the new vidtos your puting up

    thank

    cooperba

ps can you put my sceen name in next vito

  • SWEET! - That car would be fantastic if it had a engine and was road legal.

  • Oh I know! I love the styling of it!
