I want you to know that you're my diabetes hero, I was a late diagnosis of type 1 at 21 years old and I seem to be the only one my family and friends have ever met, they have all the common misconceptions all the time even though I've explained over and over the last few years, they think I'm just spewing crap so I don't have to "take care of my self properly" most of the time, until I started sharing your videos and they realized you were a diabetic saying THE SAME THINGS. Thank you so much fo
@kerpatric It's a constant battle...but you'll eventually get to a point where you get good at it. Depending on my mood, I usually respond with jest or with snark. Either way, I turn "educating" people as a game.
That was great - so true to life anyone would think you were a Diabetic:) If that was not scripted with many takes, whatever you do for a living your wasted - you would make one of the best comedians
Just like anyone else unless the way they treat everybody is to insist that they just MUST eat this or have second helpings of that. Also I really appreciate knowing what's in the food people offer me.
Oh I wish things like this had been around 45 years ago (when I got diagnosed). Hope you don't mind Mike - but I shared this at the website where I work as a Diabetic Mentor (you can find it on my page here on YouTube if you are interested) . Now my boss would love for me to do vlogs like yours - but I have to admit - you're the BEST - and I bow to you in all that you do within the D-OC.
Having lived with Type 1 diabetes for 36 years, I want to THANK YOU for making this video. Hopefully family members will take your message to heart. You nailed it!!!
Continued- thank you so much for making my life just that much easier, it's already hard enough as is :)

I love this. I'm 14 and I've had type one diabetes since I was a baby. I agree with all of this. <3
