  • I know one thing. I'm getting tired of seeing the police hurting OUR CHILDREN..

My Generation ain't like my parents....

  • STUDENTS ARE STANDING UP ALL OVER AMERICA!!! THIS IS ONLY THE START OF YEARS TO COME!!!

  • fucking awesome!!!!!!

  • Once u realize these people in uniform

have NO power whatsoever.. u will then realize that..

    YOU SHOULD >>NEVER<< feel INTIMIDATED

  • beyond hippies

    angry human citizens

COMMON SENSE NEEDS TO BE IMPLEMENTED

WHEN. YOUR. FREEDOM. IS AT RISK.

    YOURRR FREEDOM!!

  • So let me get this. Students are protesting ( as they should ) but are denied by the cops because they are "protesting" But if they pay tuition and are actual students why would they be denied access? Fucking pigs.. This isn't 1969 anymore. We aren't all high on LSD and just wanna fuck. We want to change the world and expose the bullshit and take power. Goddamn right.. The Whole World is Watching!

  • @kcutz right on!!

  • I am a Baruch student myself and by watching this shit right here DAYUM i wanna fuck the cops up so fucking BAD!~

  • hippies...

  • Saddest day of my life. It makes it worse to see commentary about how people are 'tired' of protesters. How could you be tired of people fighting for accessible and equitable education? How could you feel like the force they used was just? I don't care if they asked us to leave 100 times. This is not a police state, and I pay tuition and have an ID that supposedly allows me onto any Cuny campus. Us sitting in the lobby wasn't hurting anyone. They asked us to leave. We didn'tThey fucking attacked

  • I still don't know what this college pisses all the money away on.

  • its just sad bc it proves that you are really hopeless with all your bullshit rights against authorities and administration. sucks mann i dont know why we go to school to serve and be a part of this bullshit that abuses students to get a fuckin meeting in place. i mean this is hopeless bc they will always use force against you and they dont give a shit about your rights.

  • This was so distracting, seriously, I was in my meeting talking about how to spend my millions and these kids come barging in....rude much!!

  • I am not going to insult anyone or incite innuendo. I was there that night a saw first hand what transpired. Before any protest was made understand one thing, the decision was already made! It was made even before the students gathered in the park or even attempted to rush the rear entrance of the NVC Building. The same thing happened last year, but without such force. Public safety and NYPD were there for one thing, to maintain the safety of all non committed protest students and order. You ca

  • I'd charge these people for causing a disturbance on private property.

  • @ajaaniajaa Private property they pay tuition and attain IDs to be able to utilize? The disturbance was caused by the police.

  • What the hell.!!!!

  • This is beginning to get ridiculous with the protest, so many stories; but all are blaming the public safety department for doing their job. NOT one protester is stating that they were told to move to the overfill room (meaning, the BoT meeting was full) or go outside and not obstruct the hallway as they did. They record with their phones and cameras and state "we were brutally beaten by the officers", please show me the video of one officer lifting his baton and striking a person???

  • @jdaniels1857 When they violently arrested about 10 people, the rest had been thrown out and backed away from the lobby door, had escaped into the holding room, or had their views obstructed. Those of us in the holding room were locked in so we could not see the manner in which they made their arrests. You only get to see the pushing in these videos. They did a great job of keeping the worst parts under raps. There's NO footage of them literally throwing us out the back door. BRUTAL. trust me.

  • peaceful? maybe it was peaceful before they started filming, but this sure didn't look peaceful to me.

  • vary patient I like to see you there first hand. Unless you've been arrested or beat by the cops you know nothing about whats going on. Guess what I have and it taste like corruption. Yeah genius I'll go to a communist country. I like how this automatically assumed all communist countries are like this. There not and hey if thats what happen better to die fighting for something than die for nothing

  • System collapse. It is built into any economic system based on infinite growth. The police are not going to fix that and will be joining the occupation in a very near future.

  • the cops incite other peaceful protests into getting violent

  • Tuition have increased over 900% so you can sit back and be brainwashed to believe it's ok or u can open ur dam eyes and fight back!

  • oooSierra is delusional.

    Don't feed the troll.

  • NY state requires an annual car inspection. NY state does not require annual police officer fitness or psychological examination. Hmm??

  • the fact of the matter is we have done so legally and all we get is beat. Guy the cops have officially abused there power

  • @coolteenn -- Yeah right... WRONG! They were initially VERY PATIENT, but obviously you refuse to see that! They were within their authoritative right to do as they did, and as the school called them to... PROTECTION! Go ahead keep bunting heads, and you will taste from authority what real abuse is, and rightfully so! You think this is tyranny? ha ha. Go to Communist countries and find out first hand. They will mow you down after your first bleep!

  • @oooSierra You are an idiot. The police during the civil rights movement was also considered legal for the tactics they did. And I am going to take a wild guess and assume that you have never been to a communist country so stop trying to make the justification "it's worse somewhere else so it's ok here" statement

  • @Nfinity4231 -- No, your right. I just watched the tanks roll down the streets back then. But your 23 year old butt knows it all, right? LOL Honey, you have no idea of all I've seen an experienced in my life time, but you go right ahead, and keep playing the guessing game.

  • don't know all the facts about this. just seen the people outside of campus later that night. but apperently its about tuition rising and financial aid rates decreasing.

there's multiple ways to go about this. but i feel like public authority is taking the wrong ways. at the same time. there are organized ways to protest. shouting in front of cops isn't gonna get your point across. "there are three sides to every story; your side, his side and the truth"

  • thats not the NYPD

  • 条子真不给力,辣的一逼。

  • Keep it non-violent, but good job nonetheless.

    You guys can change things.

  • Government schools, government police, and coerced tax payers paying for it all. What a mess!

  • pigs.

  • that is not NYPD thats a CUNY PUBLIC SAFETY .....

  • :the whole world is watching... you be fucking dumb punk assholes... I Hope you need an officer in the future when your in need and they whip out a camera and start chanting something stupid at you..

  • @trevortrevoradams get the facts chief. They were trying to go to a planned meeting there. They were students, and were shoved back and clubbed by cops. "i hope one day you need a " blah blah blah. self righteous much?

  • @irebby80 Drink bleach.

  • these people are not peaceful protesting they are causing trouble for no reason then dont move when the police tell them to move so the police have to use force.

  • @irebby80 Agreed.

  • The only good cop is a dead cop.

  • I like the 8 people protesting and other 300 students just using their phones to get footage of police hurting protesters.

  • @juz4gamz -- They only know how to capture 'selective' biased footage, then scream abuse and freedom! What hypocrits. They know nothing about TRUTH!

  • I can see all those that attend this college are on this forum. That is the only reason you are so pseudo brave to spout off what you do. Can't stand on your own, while sending me all of your sissy comments in my PM. Have fun! Type away! I enjoy reading and a good laugh. :p

  • The administration at Baruch College must fear for their life since they called the police.

Was there even a hearing before they raised the fees?

If not, corporatist won with the help from government employees (police).

People pay taxes to fund the government employees, police help the corporate few in trying to silence students.

What kind of system is that?

  • @ilamoeller

dude CUNY is a publicly funded corperationit has $12billion in assets, its opperetional expences are 5% of that annually, which is fixed by its bylaws.... they do have meetings afewtimes throught out the year for the public to attend, .........9/........it recieves 3 billion from the state tax revinue per anum and im not sure how much more from the City coffers...

  • This is a part of a much broader government suppression of democratic rights. It comes from the top, and we must draw definite conclusions about who runs the the US and how to deal -- politically -- with them.

Please read and consider the program of the International Students for Social Equality. intsse [dot] com and take a look at what one UC Davis student said on CNN You can find it on YouTube.

UC Davis socialist on pepper spraying of peaceful protesters

  • The Police started pulling innocent people from the crowd and arrested them. My friend was at Baruch peacefully protesting and watching. Then the Police just grabbed her for no reason and arrested her.

  • I go to Hunter right now and $300 although sounds like a lot is by no way reason to do that. Protesting is one thing but this was wrong. Both the police and students were wrong. I see some people in the crowd with expensive Blackberrys and other high end phones. Maybe if they cut the phones and get a prepaid phones that work just as well they can make the $300. We all have to make sacrifices to succeed. Maybe if they cut some corners like I did it would be a little easier.

  • @strawberriesncandii uuhhhmmm WTF.. Thats probably only one class! People that want to graduate in this decade have to pay way more...If you keep going at that rate you will be done in 2017...Either that or you have already complete most of your classes which is why that is easy for you to say...On the other hand i have 2 jobs and Go to school, I work 50+ hours every week and go to school. Fair??

  • @morenokv I work 2 jobs too and I don't think acting that way is going to lower tuition. Did those students actually stop and think that there's a chance future employers might get a hold of the video and not hire them. It's hard to get a jobs these days and I'm not taking any chances. I'm a sophomore and at Hunter and if cutting corners to pay for school than I'll do it. Guess what? Life's no fair period. Bitching will get you nowhere. Like I said before we all have to make sacrifices.

  • @morenokv You can't have your cake and eat it too in this economy. Buying things that doesn't help further your education is a waste. Some of these students have high end Androids and Blackberrys and they are complaining about $300 when they can easily downgrade to a simpler phone to save money and pay for the hike. I know people that go to Baruch and I have been there too to take classes on the weekends for AP.

  • @morenokv You can still graduate in this decade if you know how to manage money and stop spending it on stupid things. Some college students complain about school being to expensive but they're wearing $200 Nike sneakers and Jordans. It's not fair that they're raising tuition but people have to either get over it or learn to manage where their money is going.

  • i do not see looting or destruction of property. i do see young kids fighting against a force that is physically trying to quite them

  • No wonder corporations are leaving America and employing overseas. Which one of these unruly goons would you want to hire?

  • like bee's swirl around the police so they cant move...thats the best way to riot at a peacefull way cramp them in to a convined spot and sqeuze them...massa's of people surround them..its the only way to do it peacefull

do it everywhere..surround them and squece

  • THATS NOT NYPD, ITS CUNY POLICE

  • its mostly NYPD, the cuny police mostly stayed out of it.

  • ..the whole world is watching..and supporting:)-

  • i see this is getting bigger by the seconds like i said i see it be at the level of a few from the start of it all.

  • @oooSierra what, by sleeping your way into a facist state? way to go you ignoramus

  • @mysterydiner

oosierra is a"BENOFICIARY " of the police state so she is willing to die to defend it not realising its constraints placed upon her... she is reacting not acting , and doing so out of fear.... fear as we know is the path of the dark side

  • Yes, my generation made a HUGE MISTAKE! TRYING TO GIVE YOU LITTLE ONES, THE LUXURIES AND BETTER LIFE WE DID NOT HAVE! BIG MISTAKE ON OUR PART! You are all spinless weaklings today, and won't make it through the tough times in life. I feel sorry for you.

  • @oooSierra Pathetic, just truly pathetic. You're right, it takes a spineless person to donate time to do the very thing out country was founded on, dissenting blatant corruption. It takes a real person, a good wholesome person to bend over and take it in the ass.

What exactly do you think they're protesting, you cretin?

  • @Sylinic -- What is spineless is assuming things wrong about ppl you don't know. And no, this country was not founded on spoiled brats disturbing peace on private property, all because of price hikes. Work many years paying into your savings to have corrupt elite take it all, as many in my generation have, then you have a gripe. As far as tuition, honey, we have all been there long ago, it is called life, but you want it easy and cheap. Our country was not founded on easy street. Grow up!

  • Comment removed

  • @oooSierra -- And, it does not matter if it is a college is private or public tax paying property, you can not just enter in a manner of hostile verbal outrage and do as you please. Such groups can easily and quickly get out of hand, while escalating to violence. Talk to me about the riots in the late 60's, and I'll tell you many stories witnessed and lived through. The cops were doing what they were called to do. The crap they have to put up with, is more then most of you could.

  • @Sylinic -- Again, I doubt you have taken anything in the 'ass' as you suggest. Work long and hard for many years, lose it all, and pick yourself up again, then you have taken it as you mentioned. Try starting out in life with nothing, get stabbed in the back many times, and pick yourself up again, and you will know. But I doubt you have the stamina, except to whine. You have no clue what true FREEDOM costs! or what constitutes proper freedom of speech, versus immature outrage.

  • Another peaceful protest made violent BY the police.

  • Please see passed any ideas that politics is the same as the rules of your father's house...We have a bill of rights and it does give us the right to demand a place without having to pay as much as the corporations who can print money and change the laws so they get unlimited access to money even when they steel. They made liar loans and ruined the worlds economy but those who demand they be held to account are being vilified! Shame on you cowards!

  • The whole world is watching? 308 views?

  • @MrParkinthedark You're new hear aren't you. YOUTUBE DOESN'T UPDATE VIEWS IN REAL TIME.

  • I've never been more proud to be human than the last few days

  • People are pissed about a lot more than money. We are sick of so much. The last generation shit all over the potential of the world. Morally and economically. We are pissed.

  • @mbgrayback -- OMG! and while you sit reaping the benefits this country spoiled you sorry butt in too! And what is your solution, besides whining? And when did you ever live with the poor in other countries, which some of us have, to know anything?

  • Just for heads up: In better countries you can learn on universities for free, if you are educated enough.

  • To all you Republican haters here, CUNY may be the cheapest school in the nation but it is becoming more expensive every semester, in addition to the cost of living in NYC. plus, the jobs are disappearing and that is what so many of the OWS protesters are facing.

  • people need to understand the context in which this occuring we are witnessing civil unrest all over the world, people are fed up wit the images of the fellow man being brutally repressed by their governments, the police have become more brutal and it is making the people angrier, the students have seen their fellows around the country beaten and peper sprayed, they knew the police were there for one purpose to silence them.

  • @MoiValencia87 Police becoming more brutal? They were given orders it's their job. You think the military goes overseas to feed our enemy. No we take them out, Police are given orders by the Mayor......they follow them, they keep the peace. Would you like random protesters walking around the city disrupting everyday life without police presence? People would die, it would become so violent.

  • @Brizzleeeification there is a vast difference between protesters and rioters. What random protesters are walking around killing people in your city? Cause I don't see any of them doing that around here. They're officers of the peace, they aren't supposed to be a paramilitary force that gets used to quell any dissension. They aren't supposed to be 'like the military,' ask yourself why we explicitly exclude military from being able to police within our borders?

  • you have to remember tutition at CUNY schools is already at noticeable lows. Its less than $5000 a year and most students get aid. SUNY schools are at least 12k a year and public schools are at least 30k. the reall questions is What is causing the need for more tuition?

I actually support the police in this case. It really was an inappropriate dangerous riot. It was not a peaceful protest or civil disobedience.

  • @Jewdai I have a friend who was there. She said it was very much a peaceful protest -- until the police arrived. Then they began shoving people, causing anger and outrage. The idea that the above represents a "riot" is ridiculous. I don't see looting, I don't see destruction of property. I see students demonstrating against a rise in tuition.

  • Comment removed

  • I hope they charged the protesters who got arrested with something. Let see how they will get their CPA.

  • THE COPS SHOULD OF SHOT THEM ALL, LAZY BUMS

  • @AAx451 that is over the line.

  • Many are saying $300 isn't much but, really, it does make a difference. Is financial aid going to increase also to cover the cost? I don't think so. Is CUNY going to increase their services? Doubt it. Of the 4 years I went to Baruch, none of the escalators works, elevators would shut down, garbage cans overflowing, dirty classrooms and bathrooms, etc. It's about GIVE and take, NOT just take! Plus, if people don't protest now, CUNY will think they can continue to increase tuition w/o consequence!

  • @Fantasy618 They are trying to double the tuition, they already got the hikes approved, they are trying to make it double.

  • What a bunch of hippie losers, so much for your voice hahaha, go NYPD. stop complaining its a $ 500 dollar raise on your tuition big whoop. Wait till you have to start paying taxes and paying your mortgage....You going to go outside and protest that? Life sucks, deal with it.

  • @Brizzleeeification They are trying to double the tuition, they already got the hikes approved, they are trying to make it double. " You going to go outside and protest that? Life sucks, deal with it."- what an ignorant comment, let me tell you something, without trying to call you names, educational institutions are the largest bodies and students in any generation have always the people who brought you the liberties you once used to have before the patriot act. Hide behind your comp

  • @djbillygnyc I go to school now, I am $ 29,000 in debt.....My school raised it's tuition 3 times over 4 years. I am graduating in 2 weeks and will be commissioned in the USCG. You think I am complaining about my debt? No I'm not. These protests aren't going to do anything. They never did and they never will. Look at OWS.....was breaking news for a month or so. Now you turn on the news and it's not the latest story. This will fizzle out just like OWS.....

  • @Brizzleeeification lol no shit it wont b the top news im having to go to foreign news media outlets jsut to know what the fuck is going on in this country besides the normal dancing with the stars bullshit

  • @Brizzleeeification I have been paying taxes every year since i was 18, i have bills, rent to pay and tuition. life sucks deal with it? its because of people like you that we have lost our constitutional rights. i guess the civil rights movement in the 60's should have just dealt with jim crow laws cuz hey life sucks! for the record im a libertarian conservative not a hippie and the majority of students who go to Baruch are studying to be in business they are not hippies either

  • I was there and RECORDED everything. Asian dude in blue jacket got toss the fk down by 2 police officer. 4 black teens threw some object (think it was a bottle) from the 2nd floor than ran away when the cop start running up to catch them

300$ increase for the next 4 years.. how much do you think those "students" spend on parties, clubs, jackets, jeans, sneakers, latest gadget a year?

    "haterz" what are you 5?

  • @namezox I'm wondering exactly the same about what students spend on. I don't know how much financial aid covers for everyone else but for me I get a shit load of money back (so I'm pretty much getting paid to go to Baruch).

  • namezox seems to rile up the posters wherever he/she/it leaves comments - consider the source that probably doesn't attend this school - check for yourself and do the homework -most haterz are just phony egos.

  • This is a bit much. Not only are they trespassing, but this is a riot, not a protest. I am just as much against "police brutality" as anyone with half a brain, but you are a fool if you think you can become destructive and reckless without the police trying to regain order. This is way too out of control. Tuition is only going up $100, do you expect a free education? I know a ton of kids who paid more to go to high school. Not only is tuition a bargain, but Baruch is a top 40 business school.

  • @inuredbass Excuse my mistake, $300. My point still stands, though.

  • college tuition and fees have skyrocketed and yes, kids should vote with their money, however, most credit don't transfer and they'd lose most of their class credits by transferring so they don't feel like they have a choice and are taking it out on the school.

  • Comment removed

  • All mob mentality and those trash FEEL like they are doing something important. All i see are teens who wants attention, wants to feel special about themselves but they are just immature fk tards with iphones, blackberry and 300$ nike protesting against fat cats while they BUY fat cats product. NEXT

  • the protests were peaceful before the riot squads showed up, what you dont see is the massive police presence outside in riot gear, they even had a helicopter buzzing overhead, they returned to being peacefull after this altercation and the protestors decided to march because the police were about to inflict more abuse and violence and make more arrests, we have run out of time wake up before the jackboot comes down on you next

  • @MoiValencia87 Thanks for the FACTS which we should all learn BEFORE judging people. It's the cops who are violent NOT the kids so if you still think the cops are doing their job then you need to STFU because YOU don't get it sierra and jr and whoever else feels so superior as to judge others.

  • @ziger123456 DUDE. I WAS THERE.. IT IS ALL ABOUT MOB MENTALITY. Shit can get out of hand because all of the retard there. Lose-lose situation. Protesting about tutional hike? WOW EXTRA 300$ per semester.

OH NOEZZZZZ, i cant buy my iphone 5 now, my 300$ nike, my expensive jeans, T's, jackets and all of the UNNECESSARY items

  • @ziger123456 -- Well, guess you really don't believe in the FREEDOM you spout off about then do you? If I have to shut up to appease you, then you have to shut up as well. Works both ways toots! Poor, poor, confused little kiddo. And all the other fruitloops on here fighting for the impoverished people. LOL None of you know what real poverty is. But if you want a lesson, I will tell you my life story, and all who I work to help as well, but why bother, you still wouldn't get it!

  • Many college/University been increasing their tuition. One school increased their tuition by 5000 but no riot there. and how many those of trash(protester) have iphone, blackberry, name brand sneaker and etc etc? I go to baruch and all iphone and blackberry.

Cops are JUST DOING their job. Those kids dont understand because they NEVER held a REAL job before - Pushing and shoveling the cops. I WAS THERE DURING THE PROTEST AND STUDENTS FROM 2nd floor looking down THREW stuff at the cops. FFS

  • who is going to clean up the floor?

stop buying one iPhone, you will have money to pay the fees..

dont always say school and gov't are BS, you already get cheap tuition

you are lucky enough to have this kind of education system in NYS.

not happy? go to other places for college...

  • @qcx123456 where else? lol in the so called civilized worlds students are protesting. yes all over in eruope these past few months students have been protesting tuition hikes..

  • For those of you who are saying that this is the protestors fault you are wrong. this is my school, I was there. the protestors wanted to attend a PUBLIC hearing. The CUNY school board decided they didnt want to hear from the CUNY students. yes the NYPD was called in because these students were determined to have their voices heard and that is no longer acceptable in america. With all the crackdowns on the OWS protest things have reached a boiling point in this country.

  • Bunch of deranged students, think because they pay tuition, they can get rowdy on school premises. Try doing that in an apt. and you get your butt booted out fast as well. No difference with the school. Cops have a tough job, for little pay. They say they don't want a police state, but punks are pushing the cops to bring it on. When they do, we all suffer. No respect today. These nuts want anarchy!

  • @oooSierra for little pay? what the fuck are you talking about some cops here in texas get paid well over 70k a year plus government benefits. if you are all for a fascist country get the fuck out of america because your generation fucked up my generation up

  • @oakcliff621 -- So does my husband now! but he did not start out that high. You need to do your research better toots! You also have no idea what fascist even means. Keep your rowdy attitude up though, and you shall see. You bring upon yourself, what you preach you don't want. In the meantime, if you need me to tell you all the countries that would love you.... lol

  • @oooSierra with all the people who have already disagreed with you i no longer need to make an argument to prove that you are delusional

  • @oakcliff621 -- Oh boy, so that is your deduction? LOL Your groupies are all here... do you think I give a rip? LOL That does not make you right either, just popular, you twit!

  • @oakcliff621 -- Well this 'delusional' person, lived longer, and succesfully made it in this life farther then YOU have! And with no handouts along the way. But see, more assumptions from ppl like you. That is all you have to go on.... ignorant assumptions.

  • We definitely did start off peaceful. Then came a huge abundance of cops which seemed to enrage some protestors. But it never got out of hand.. then again, I was outside (as much of us were).

Losing your voice for the right purposes. Stay together guys.

  • @MrRat1980 -- The students DO NOT OWN THE SCHOOL! The police were acting on behalf of the school calling them. Your beef is with the school, not the cops. The police were doing their job... like it, or leave it!

  • fuck this police state. we the people will create change

  • The only people who think we live in a free country are those who haven't bothered to test that proposition.

  • You are on the network, you are not alone. I'm Spanish, I'm watching from A Coruña in the northwest of Spain

  • NYC Pigs are the worst.

  • You bet the whole world is watching. Shame.

  • i didnt understand what anyone was shouting

  • do all the protestors go to baruch?

  • @ExKon3 No, The protest began with a handful of organizers from Students United for a Free CUNY

  • Police maintain your neutrality against American protesters, Police do not be co-opted by political and foreign interests of any sort. These American have the right to protests in a public area.

Boycott all CS GAS/Mace USA manufactures that make police and military weapons against peaceful protesters.

  • I don't like this video....it looks like the NYPD were attacked instead...my alma mater....

  • oh noh

  • This video shows the truth of whats happening in our country. Sadly these people will be called bumbs and dumb but these are the people who will make changes that will change policy. Here's to all you protestors out there stay STRONG the world is watching :D

  • @coolteenn -- WRONG! You got a gripe with the school, then do so legally, or boycott the school. You don't fight the cops, who were called in on behalf of the school.

  • @oooSierra have you seen what the fuck happens when you sit in and peacefully protest... these kids are well aware of what happens when your voice is ignored. if anything this got out of hand because of how the police handle their job at other protesting sites.

  • @oakcliff621 -- Yep, they were real peaceful! ha! wrong.

  • @oooSierra and no the school is the kids and not the select few who run the school and rise tuition fees who were the 1s who called the police

  • @oooSierra You're a fucking idiot. Boycott the school? Are you kidding me? Especially if you go there and you have to PAY for these fees. Boycott? Are you fucking serious?

  • @coolteenn -- So being rowdy is going to lower the tuition rates? ha ha... doubt it. That is the main gripe of these students... the high tuition costs. If they really wanted to make a difference and change it, they should drop out and stop paying. Money talks, and when the school loses enough money by low enrollment, they may change, but they don't have to either. The students don't own the school. Face reality... it is called life, but this current generation is very spoiled.

  • @oooSierra so the answer is drop out and dont get educated? great way to invest in the future of this country. for the record we have a first amendment right to freedom of speech and freedom of assembly and you should defend every americans right to that. CUNY was free for NYC for years, the tuition hikes are going straight to the beurocracy and the schools corporate partners, believe me ive been in cuny for 6 years and havnt seen any benifit of tuition hikes the professors havnt either

  • @MoiValencia87 -- So you put foreign words in anothers mouth too, I see. No, I never said not to get an education, but if you can not figure out what I said, obviously any schooling you have had thus far, is not working for you. If you can not figure it out, I nor I doubt anyone can help you.

  • @oooSierra i did get a valuable education from the cuny system, its the principle of free speech in a free society, dont be so quick to demean someone you dont know, it takes away any shred of credibility you have, because u cannot debate me on political, philosophical and constitutional grounds you resort to petty insults. my intellect is above such childishness

  • Comment removed

  • @MoiValencia87 -- JUDGE? HA HA! No honey, it's called exercising my freedom of speech via text, just as you and your cronies are doing, and whom threw wrongful judgement my way first for my FREE SPEECH COMMENTS! hypocrit much? Man, your generation is really confused, eh? And no dear, I see no intelligent debate offered by you and your little friends here... just mud slinging insults. Two can tango at that!

  • @MoiValencia87 -- Oh nevermind.. I see it all clearly now.... in your expressed opinion, what is good for the goose, is not good for the gander. ALL MUST AGREE WITH YOU, EH? or else! LOL

  • @oooSierra Actually no you are free to disagree, free to be fascist, and free to be a misanthropic human being. I have no cronies in here just fellow citizens whose opinion is in every way as valid as yours.

  • @MoiValencia87 -- Next time you PM me, know what you are talking about first! And your generation only wants a hand out without working for it! When you have crawled out of poverty, by hard work, and paid your way through college, as many of us have, WITHOUT FREE HANDOUTS... at over $1,000 PER CREDIT over 20 years ago (when college costs ALWAYS were escalating), and spent years after graduation to pay back loans, then come talk to me. At your tender age of 24, you have no clue what life is.

  • @MoiValencia87 -- And when you first lived through REAL POVERTY, and climbed over real obstacles, then come talk to me, about the so called philosophy you 'think' you know about, and PM'd your BS about kiddo!

When you ask legit questions, and want to rationally debate intellectually, then come talk to me. Until then, I have no use playing tit for tat with children!

  • @MoiValencia87 Amen

  • @MrComingtogetyouable Thank you, you will not believe the PM i received from oooSierra this morning, apparently fascists get upset when people know their rights

  • @MoiValencia87 well go to a community college or some where else

  • @howtospin Actually I am finishing this semester, I think CUNY schools are cheap in comparrison my sister goes to NYU and has tens of thousands of dollars in student loan debt, these students are protesting for their colleagues not just in CUNY but for all students. I stood with them not because i agreed with their complaints rather because i defend the constitution and our first amendment right, they are my fellow students and citizens, it is my duty as an American Citizen to do so

  • @MoiValencia87 Just because you have a right to protest doesnt mean you have a right to not obey what the police say.

  • @howtospin this assumes that the police are actually protecting citizens, youtube is filled with examples of when cops on an powertrip abuse their authority, this also assumes that the state has the consent of the governed which it no longer has. The declaration of independence made it pretty clear that when a state becomes destructive to life & liberty it is the duty of the people to alter or abolish it. I love this country and i respect the rule of law, something the NYPD as a whole does not

  • @howtospin Also the police are not Gods they are public servants employed by the public, they have a duty to protect us and the constitution. Just because a fascist cop barks an order at you does not mean you have to blindly follow, that kind of stuff happened in Nazi Germany and if Americans embrace that attitude what happened there can happen here, its called civil disobedience, Rosa Park did not move and she is a civil rights hero

  • @howtospin @MoiValencia87 Actually, you don't have to listen (lawfully) to what they say, nor do you have to do what they tell you. The fourth amendment protects people against searches and seizures. If a police officer interferes with what you are doing, it is called a "seizure". There must be probable cause, (allegedly). Just because "the cop says" rarely makes it true.

  • @coolteenn- yeah, cuz in these pass couple of months, the world has completely changed.

  • Was there a peaceful part of this protest?
