  • THIS IS HOW CHUCK NORRIS WAS BORN

  • Counter rotating drillbits?

  • cool video

  • drill bits made by drill bits...

    drillbitception!

  • What the heck are those steel-cutting tools made of? Carbide? How long do they last? And how do they make the carbide blades???

  • chicken or the egg? :))

  • @legumefructe the egg came first b\c the egg that the chiken was hached from was not laid by a chiken the chiken that came out of the egg was a mutation and it was fuitfull so there u have it lol =3-

  • @xoxoXoieoxox :))) thumb up :D

  • Comment removed

  • that was a 'BIT' much.

  • best show ever

  • It's all the Jew's fault.

  • no gloves!?

  • when you plug the hole try to align the grain of the plug with the main timber. when its sanded you can hardly notice the plug.

  • If u use drills to make a drill, then how were the first drill bits made? o.0

  • those are some close fingers to that grinding wheel..

  • @jimbob172 Yes, and those chicken and egg folks oughta know that that the first drill bits, and other tools, were made by hand, and many tools still are.

  • woww that's neato man!

  • OSHA would have a field day in that factory.

  • @wrg1183 that's ok,- it's Canada.

  • Working with metal is something I understand. It all makes sense.

But WOOD !? That is very strange stuff.

For starters - I have found that you CAN NOT weld it together, just doesn't work.

And I have tried every welding rod known to man.

How do you carpenters deal with this ' termite food' stuff??

  • @agwhitaker You need a TWIG welder

  • The worker at 2:07 must be brave o.O

  • @bovko1 YEAH! That disk would mess you up in a hurry!

  • first time i have seen a plug cutter in my 38 yr old life!. where have i been... shit.

  • i love fuller tools, got a bunch with me :)

  • which came first, the drill bit or the drill bit..... wait what.

  • You need drill bits to make drill bits, how were those drill bits made without any drill bits...

  • They use drills to make drills! How did they make the first drill??

  • what drill bits screw the machines together?

  • But if drill bits are made with drill bits, where did those drill bits come from? O_º

  • @EPICT0ASTER they buy them from another company

  • @EPICT0ASTER That's where god comes in.

  • @EPICT0ASTER well with many situations like this what happens is that their future selves go back in time and give them all their first materials and go back to their time but then the present them will go and make more so that their future selves will have some to go back and give them. also they sell them to make money to fund for the time machine, cause they told themselves they would have to in order to give themselves the tools to make them if that makes any sense.(of course i'm joking)

  • @EPICT0ASTER

    DRILLCEPTION

  • @EPICT0ASTER How deep do you want to go? Drillbitception...

  • @EPICT0ASTER did you watch the same video that i just did? because the drill bit was made without a drill bit. just a blank and a grinding disk

  • Comment removed

  • @EPICT0ASTER again did you watch the video i did? the hole was dilled in the counter sink.. the twist drill starts being made at 2:36.. if you see and twist drill in the manufacturing then i will shut up. but there is not.. no drill is used to make a drill. they are used to make other cutting tools though

  • @EPICT0ASTER ugh you beat me to it -_-

  • @EPICT0ASTER It's a Long Story, all started with chicken and the eggs :)

  • @EPICT0ASTER aliens.

  • @EPICT0ASTER the video explains how drills are made too if you watch it properly

  • @EPICT0ASTER china

  • @EPICT0ASTER We need a meta-documentary: "How the Things That Make the Things in "How It's Made" Are Made".

  • @EPICT0ASTER It's the same "paradox" as the chicken and the egg. Before the chicken came the pre-chicken which laid an egg with a chicken in it. This must have needed a pre-chicken as well.

  • @EPICT0ASTER Chuck Norris's beard.

  • @EPICT0ASTER my thoughts exactly. and the same with computers making computers.

  • @EPICT0ASTER God made them on the 8th day.

  • @EPICT0ASTER Epickest face!

  • @EPICT0ASTER Drill-bitCEPTION!

  • @EPICT0ASTER to think it all started with chipping pieces of flint, and rocks.

  • @EPICT0ASTER Your eye seems to be fucked up sir! O.O

  • @EPICT0ASTER well first you gather wood...

  • @EPICT0ASTER More expensive ones.

  • @EPICT0ASTER drillception

  • @EPICT0ASTER You've stumbled upon the infinite regress dilemma of the machine shop.

  • @EPICT0ASTER chicken or the egg? :)))

  • @EPICT0ASTER from china

  • @EPICT0ASTER they're not

  • @EPICT0ASTER The drill bits that can cut metal are made with high speed steel or carbide because they are denser then conventional steel allowing them to cut the less dense steal so they could not be cut into shape in the first place unless somebody has a set of diamond bits. They are probable made by pouring melted material into a mold. Hurp durr durp durp hurp hurp durp narf narf

  • @EPICT0ASTER

    Drillception...

  • @EPICT0ASTER drillception

  • @EPICT0ASTER

Obviously, from chicken (or from an egg?)

  • drills making drills

  • 3:56 he says "then a bath on acid to remove ...from the oven' " _ to remove what? sudd? Can someone help me!

  • @ej20daZe sudd = the excess crap on the outside of the drill bit

  • @dyennam

It's "soot", not "sudd". Soot is carbon deposit from the firing/heat treating process. This needs to be removed before chemically coloring the bits.

  • @morisato54 thank you +

  • @dyennam thank you_

  • '

    can cobalt cutting cobalt

  • As I'm looking at all the "How it's made" videos, why do I keep reading "How it's made" over & over again?

  • You need a drill to make drillbits... Cool.

  • cool

  • I LOVE Fuller tapered countersink bits. They make cabinetry so much easier...

  • they forgot the most important steps...material selection...shaping...and they didnt actually show how to make drill bits...they even used drill bits to make other bits..but didnt show how they made those drill bits...

  • I don’t like this voice-over ... bring back the original!

  • You forced me to all caps, THEY USE "SOFT" TOOL STEEL TO MACHINE, THEN HARDEN IT!!

  • 0:45 XD

  • That's alot of steps for just one drill bit!

  • Your running that cnc way too slow.

  • Drill ! drill the drill is drillception

  • drill bits to make drill bits

    ????????

  • imagine some of those steel shavings go flying right on your eye. 0_o

  • Look at his fingernail at 2:10 I don't think thats a very safe job...

  • the hand grinding operation blew me away ... are you serious ? hand grinding on a cutting tool made in the first decade of 2000 !!!!, not impressed !

  • secrect chemical? =s i'm pretty sure theyre just nitrated. anyhoots, if you feel like your tools are expensive remember they aren't exactly mass produced.

  • Funny if they do a how it's made: Babies.

  • Now where it's made.............CHINA.

  • Pierce the heavens with your drill!

  • 1:50 boring bar :)

    next is annoying bar

  • That's a lot of steel shavings.

  • @ajamerlan You haven't seen anything there buddy...search for a video called: Mazak Integrex - Crankshaft Demo - Addy Machinery and skip to 41seconds

  • @ajamerlan Chuck Norris' beard shavings.

  • @dramoschocolate Many ways to do it, nowdays they use the very same process to make the milling bits as the milling the milling bits do.

Back in the day it took a lot of time a lot of experience, a piece of steel and a metal file.

  • @Serostern Twist drills were never made with a file. They were not invented until after the milling machine, about 1812. Until then, flat drills were used. The milling machine made cutting the flutes practical.

  • @dramoschocolate This question goes back to the very first drill bit which was bestowed to us by Hephaestus.

  • @dramoschocolate

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who was questioning that

  • @dramoschocolate The first was made by hand.

  • they used the hand made bits first

  • @dramoschocolate b4 tat all the drill bits is made by pouring melted alloy in to stone moulds

  • @dramoschocolate one more question, How do they make the drill bits that MAKE drill bits that MAKE drill bits?

  • @dramoschocolate Another one.. How do they make the drill bits that make the drill bits, that make THOSE drill bits?

  • @stereonut001 Magic.

  • @dramoschocolate lazers and high strength steel? ^^ pew pew !

  • @dramoschocolate lazers ^^ pew pew !

  • @dramoschocolate few fell from sky

  • @dramoschocolate it's just like one of those what came first jokes lol

  • @dramoschocolate lol yeah that's also what I was thinking when they were using an electric drill (which has magnets in it's motor) and other devices with magnets to make other magnets.

  • @Truthiness231 There are natural magnets...

  • @Jughead2950 There are also drills that don't use magnets, and less durable bits can be made via casting...

Our posts were both meant to be more comedic observations than serious talks about how it must have been some impossible chicken/egg scenario.

  • @Truthiness231 I know, it just seemed like you thought all magnets were artificial.

  • @Jughead2950 Na I'm actually the kind of nerdy person well aware of how the first compasses were made ^.^

  • @Truthiness231 Magnets: how do they work?

  • @Jughead2950 rofl yeah, nice response XD

On a side note: I actually like that song, despite the appallingly ignorant lyrics which are being contradicted by some of the graphics work in the background of the video (a double helix in the background while they're talking about the well understood "miracles" of biology, for example ^.^). Shame that the idiots singing didn't intend on in, but that's one of the funniest videos of all time.

  • @Truthiness231 Seriously... It's a miracle.

  • @dramoschocolate well the first drill bits were made by hand using primitive tools. Naturally the drill bits made today are made by other drill bits.

  • @dramoschocolate by using drill bits obviously

  • @dramoschocolate by hand! lol

  • @dramoschocolate owwwwwww... your comment makes my brain hurt... :( ^^

  • @dramoschocolate~ iv been asking myself that question from a very young age.

  • @dramoschocolate drill bits are made with drill bits that have been hardened with heating and cooling after the shaping process :)

  • @b2dmastersniper thumbs up for you

  • @dramoschocolate Это называется технология лол

чтоб делать электричество тоже надо электричество

    и во многих других случаях

  • @dramoschocolate lol thats so true man

  • @dramoschocolate Ahhh grasshopper...the chicken or the egg ..which came first

  • @ted850760 the egg because long before there were chicken, there were other creatures that laid eggs

  • @ted850760 The egg. Can't forget the dinosaurs.

  • @dramoschocolate How was the first computer operating system made without a operating system to to make the operating system?

  • @dramoschocolate some poor Chinese family are hammering them somewhere :P.

  • @dramoschocolate With milling heads and cutters.

  • @dramoschocolate that wasnt a drill bit it was a tap and die

  • @dramoschocolate 2 min 40 sec

  • @dramoschocolate They carved it during the time when cave man existed LOL!

  • @dramoschocolate LOL actually it's a good question, cos the drill bits used by the machine have got to be much harder in order to carve the drill bits they are trying to produce...

  • @SparseFreeman98 The drill bit cutting tooth usually has diamond "blade" on it.

  • @dramoschocolate one answer... drillception...

  • @dramoschocolate I always thought bits were made by twisting flat metal that is sharp on both sides...

  • @dramoschocolate see those little triangular bits on the dovetail cutter? my uncle makes those out of tungsten carbide. they take a chunk of the stuff and shape it with diamond grinders, kinda like how you sharpen a sword on a grindstone.

  • @dramoschocolate George bush pulled them out his butt.

  • @dramoschocolate

    Better

  • @dramoschocolate what are u talking about which time code?

  • At first I was like plug cutters don't make any sense, and then I was like Ooohhhhhh........

  • @TROLLERSDELIGHT What doesn't make sense to me is why your name is TROLLERSDELIGHT

  • @atomf1

lol no no I was being serious I took a woodshop class and I'm like wtf I've never heard of plug cutters. Now all of the sudden they're genius, COVER UP THE HOLE? With a plug?! Beats the heck of wood putty to cover screw holes.
