I don't like Christina so I'm not a fan or nothing but she sings this rather well, it's a shame she's lost this in her performances recently she looks and sounds like a mess.
She's got a beautiful and distinctive tone but it's a shame that she sings without a correct diaphragm support, resulting in a very throathy, scratchy sound, especially in her belts. For a professional female singer, belting a B4 (@00:12) should be effortless, it shouldn't sound like you're screaming your throat off. Obviously she has her own style and I do know that many people like that scratchiness, but it's really unhealthy for her voice.
@sadisticsoul69 Sometimes it is intentional, trust me. Christina, over the years, has not treated her voice kindly, resulting in her voice cracking/scratching a bit more than it used to, but there are times it is intentional and I think that is one of those times.

However, hopefully with the recent vocal coach lessons she's been taking she'll improve more!

She's got a beautiful and distinctive tone but it's a shame that she sings without a correct diaphragm support, resulting in a very throathy, scratchy sound, especially in her belts. For a professional female singer, belting a B4 (@00:12) should be effortless, it shouldn't sound like you're screaming your throat off. Obviously she has her own style and I do know that many people like that scratchiness, but it's really unhealthy for her voice.

@sadisticsoul69 Sometimes it is intentional, trust me. Christina, over the years, has not treated her voice kindly, resulting in her voice cracking/scratching a bit more than it used to, but there are times it is intentional and I think that is one of those times.

Christina Aguilera's always been known for her HUGE voice, as much as she SHOULD have taken better care of her voice, she couldn't with the demand to belt out these huge notes and runs.

@sadisticsoul69 I know it's unhealthy in most circumstances, but with Etta she was still singing like that for decades and her voice showed no major decline... I suppose with Xtina only time will tell. She has been using pretty much the same technique most her life and only a few times (both live and recorded) she's belted "properly". However, hopefully with the recent vocal coach lessons she's been taking she'll improve more!

@sadisticsoul69 she's still singing isn't she? most of her range is still in tact, her lower range is better and so is her head voice. so yeah like most other singers out there she's suffered a decline, but not "major". i think she's sounded better as she's gotten older, even if she doesn't belt such high notes with ease anymore, that's the only real part of her voice that she lacks nowadays. but end of 2010 to begininning of 2011 was very tough for her, and it showed in her voice...

@chenjunyang She cracks and struggles on every note above A4 in chest voice. If that's not major decline then I don't know what might be. Her low range is very weak as always, her low notes lack depth and richness, not to mention she can't even go down to the 2nd octave, which Beyoncé for example can do with ease and powerful resonance.

@kdjm15 It's not me we're talking about, I never claimed to be a "vocalist" like Xtina did in an interview lol A vocalist is someone who masters their voice as a true musical instrument, which is not her case at all. Her technique is horrible. She can't sing anything above A4 without strain, and if you're unable to notice that then you're the deaf one here! She has a beautiful tone, I'll give her that, but beautiful tone doesn't equal good singing, never did, never will.

The thing is, Xtina doesn't put work into what she does. If she did, she would have learned how to sing with proper technique, with proper breath support. She would be able to resonate her notes instead of screaming them. Her bad technique is ruining her voice day after day, and she doesn't seem to care, neither do her fans.

@kdjm15 She's not a bad singer,but she's not a great one either,and definitely not one of the best of our generation.Her low notes lack projection and volume,she can't belt properly(she starts straining and scratching her voice even before entering the 5th octave) and her head voice is very thin and completely disconnected from her chest one.By my standards that's very far from being a great singer,but hey, if you want to call her "one of the best" go for it... your entitled to your opinion.

Dirrty has been a success in terms of mediatic attention and buzz but not in terms of sale. and anyway, what's the point ? i don't give a shit that they're hits or that she has only 8 top 10, with the most recent being in 2001...what does it have to do with the rest ?
