I used to be straight edge, and then I realized that for me drinking isn't really that bad, even if my dad was an alcoholic, I'm not him. In fact, sometimes it's helped me to overcome some of the negative cultural barriers that our society constructs around sexuality. That's not to say that I need alcohol to overcome those barriers. Also, there's a difference between alcohol and the alcohol Industry. But, I love straight edge because it promotes acceptance of people who choose to not be a part
