@decapattack so imagine the potential of the cars now if they were allowed bigger engines with more power. might make them a bit tougher to drive like older cars were and bring more exciting racing with emphasis back to driver control and aerodynamic abilities of the car. it will take a brave person to let that happen because youd get slated for taking a step backwards regarding safety. i dont want an unsafe f1 but i think it has come far enough to be safe even with more powerful engines

@decapattack The V12s only made around 650bhp max, because they didn't rev as high as the current V8s. That said, for me the V10 era was the best, 900bhp 19,000rpm screamers. The V12s are VERY musical though

if you look all the cars other than ferraris in this vid (prost, sauber, bennetton) are all being driven by jean alesi who gave this ferrari v12 of 94/95 its only win and he is considered a legend by the tifosi as although he is french he has italian roots and was much loved as a ferrari driver despite the lack of success!

its more then that. the v-12 is obsolete all together. there is alot more moving parts in a v-12 that adds complextion and all need to be cooled as well. which means needing bigger radiators. bigger radiators means bigger body and more exhaust pipes to package. bigger body panels means less arrow dynamics. i can go on its just not worth it for a hp increase of maybe 10hp

Ferrari had the V12 engine for many, many years of F.1, I think it's the best engine sound all over the world... only in 1996, with the arrival of Michael Schumacher, Ferrari forsake V12 engine and used V10, but before Ferrari ran nearly all years with V12 (apart early 80's with turbo engines).
