HARP: Bang On is the spookiest song on the record.
That was me and Jose [Medeles, drummer] in the basement trying to bug out and make a hit song that youd hear on the radio. It was really scary because you could actually imagine it on the radio. So I told him to quit it and we played this [laughs] and used that weird Telefunken mic that and put it through a four track. You can hear us clapping too, just like David Bowie did on Fame.
OH i think she had a philosophy. i'm not exactly sure how to say what it was, but I'm sure she had one, or else there wouldn't be this sort of constant theme in the song writing. It's always catchy, and sort of cute. I think there must have been some sort of basic idea (philosophy) behind the breeders. i dunno. I'm not articulating it well I know. Simple. That's a big thing. NO fancy anything, solos etc. Just good ol' fashioned song writing. Kinda surf, grunge, whatever.
My favorite band during my college years in the 90's...and now my 3 yr. old daughter jams to this song. She had the beat DOWN! Way to go Breeders. Such an awesomely cool band.
If I'm able to at least in one of my several fucking times I tried to post comments...I'll just say, hey Kim, The Breeders all of you, you can not imagine how great and important you've become to me and many people more from South America. Greetings from Argentina
Just because a song is not jam-packed full of sounds does not mean there is 'no production'! I hear vocal effects, a catchy beat, guitar chords & harmonies, all of which are clear evidence of 'production.' It all sounds very pleasing to the ear. Kim sounds a little more confident (than she did on Last Splash). Great Job Breeders.
God analog sounds great

Cool, no "loudness war", me happy
TMTKowalski 11 months ago
The song actually turns me off. Kim sings a song about "no body loves me".
Get real. Praise to Mondo, Jose and Kelly for putting up with it. The GEG
could of have better lyrics for the beat. Almost everybody loves the GEG Kim.

One of my favourite track on the last LP.
I love Kim's absence of philosophy in her art; her music is so fresh.

@TheWorthyApes I agree. The lack of philosophy is a philosophy in itself.
I first heard this album about a week ago and it hasn't gotten out of my head yet.

@TheWorthyApes Exactly ! Lot of fun, and no stress. Something wich is not from current days, alas.
