I decided to become vegetarian today, mum is only just accepting it, i want to be vegan but i think ill have to wait a few years as i know my mum will not take the time to single out vegan food ):
even though eating eachother is the way of life, it is unfair because us humans mass prouce the food. It's different if you go out and hunt the animal, especially if you thank the animal for risking their life to give you yours, instead of just buying meat in the supermarket and not thinking anything of it.
@Castfire11 Hi Castfire! I know it's 2 years ago and you may have forgotten what you've put but it's high on the comments list so it should be easy to find. For many animals, eating other animals is their only way of surviving but for most humans watching this, they can find perfectly good sources of nutrition without eating animals at all.
i was a vegetarian for about 3 months this year, and then i moved back home, and now it's on and off, b/c it's hard to keep up with it when everyone around you is eating meat, and shoving it in your face telling you to eat it
Maybe you didn't watch the video properly. If you had watched, maybe you would have noticed that marcluc1988 was nine when he stood up to his parents and said I WILL NOT EAT MEAT. He also says none of them were vegetarian. I notice that you are a lot older than 9 years old. There's an old expression, "You can take a horse to water but you can't make him drink."
No one is forcing you to eat meat. You're just don't care enough.
While you're mainly right, just b/c he did it at 9, doesn't mean everyone can. His parents worked with him after awhile, my family doesnt really care. I don't have time or money to always either get things to prepare my own meals or go out, which leaves me at home. And we're a middle eastern family, and in middle eastern food, meat is a staple. I still try to avoid meat as much as I can however, but until I move to a more conducive environment, I dont think Ill be able to cut it completely.
OK Perhaps I was a little harsh. I didn't realise your circumstances. (I'm in Europe). I hope, one day, you will have the freedom to eat a vegetarian diet.
@AisforAd4m My parents didn't work with me at all. My mum told me at school, "Stop embarrassing me and eat your meat." That's hardly working with me. By the way, I didn't eat it. I was just determined not to eat it. Unless someone sticks a pipe down your throat and forces food in, they can not make you eat.
You clearly didn't watch the video or pay attention. I was 8 years old and I had no parental support so to all those out there who say, "I'm only X years old.", just don't give in.
I became vegetarian when I was 8 and everyone else was eating meat. I didn't find it at all difficult not to put meat in to my mouth. It takes no effort at all.
I too was shocked when I realized my "ethical" vegetarian diet was not that "ethical" at all. I never realized the cruelties involved in the dairy industry. Immediately after I learned about the constant impregnation, the seperation of calves from mothers and the slaughter of the babies I went vegan. It's been almost a year and I'm thrilled at my decision. No ice cream or dairy product is worth that amount of suffering. Great Vegan story! Thanks for sharing:) For health & heart - Go VEGAN

@AisforAd4m How's your vegetarianism going?
