  • Comment removed

  • Woww al minuto cincuentay cinco...

  • This video doesn't do justice to the talent and beauty of these young women. You have to see them perform in person to really appreciate their energy and talent. It is a sight to behold.

  • @CapnHawk

Great comments. I admire their videos, thought I've never seen them in person.

I can imagine how amazing their performances are !!!!!

  • héhe_í_fÊèl_sÕ_lònèlÿ_tÔdÂy

  • Oh crap! And JUST as they start the "Ripper Sole," it stops! Poo! It was looking so good, and I've dreamt of doing a piece to that music the first time I heard it in "Tank Girl." :) (And that was LONG before I ever dreamt of bellydancing! :D) Love the work, ladies, and would love to see the rest of the song performed, too! Kudos!

  • BTW Rachel Brice was inspired by a very "fat" bellydancer, so you best be feeling lucky big women dont give a crap what ya think lol

  • what's that song name?

  • Arabs rock these aren't even close.

  • @sunshineclassic This is tribal, an American form of the dance. Why even compare? And why must you be negative?

    awesome!!

  • putain y'en a une qui se rase pas en dessous des bras c'est dégueulasse sérieux

  • I love these full-bodied women. They are just gorgeous.

  • How in the world did I miss these ladies?

must now search for local performances. Sacramento!

  • ES TAN TRIBAL QUE NO SE DEPILA LAS AXILAS????

  • I would love to know the name of the song....or the artists name..... I love the way dance have spread out into all directions....like the tree of life it just keeps growing.

  • @zsingergrl

1st song is Rama Communication (Beatmasters Radio Mix) by State of Bengal

2nd song is Ripper Sole by Stomp( Tank girl soundtrack)

  • i LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE seeing a belly dancer with a tummy! YOU GO GIRLS!!!

  • fantastica la coreografi, pero el tema de la cancion cual es?

  • nice dancing! But I see armpit hair? I do not think so appealing forgiveness.

  • @Pyrixine

I thought I saw that also. I guess I am supposed to say that it is no big deal; it just does not looked groomed.

So do not send me hate mail!

  • I think the woman they do a close -up on at 1:13 moves beautifully!

  • @aja4079 She's got the nicest belly of them all too :)

  • i wanna see the rest of the dance!lol, where can i find it?

  • it doesnt matter if you fat or tall anyone can do bellydancing its the same with hula

  • this is an amazing form of dance i love it! these dancers look beautiful and i agree, belly dance isnt about the look so much as the feeling you put into it. i LOVE bellydancing and im definitely NOT the skinniest girl lol but i like it because its an expression =]

  • anyone knows the name of this song? Thanks!

  • love this dvd

  • Brilliant

  • I happen to find well rounded belly dancers to be BEAUTIFUL.

  • The 2nd from the right in back is built like me! Maybe there's hope for the almost hipless Belly Dancer? lol

  • That was a nice routine! Some of these types of dances get on your nerves, shaking boobs and butts, but this is a nice routine, classy, and well done. I wish I could dance like them!

  • What song is this and who by?? O.o It's awesome and a great pick for their dance too :D

  • if you can trust what people tell you in SL...one of these girls was my pony there for awhile...but I have no idea which one.

watching this again (and again) one has to imagine that this is how slave girls would dance in John Norman's Gor books.

  • @chutoi26 pony???

  • if you can trust what people tell you in SL...one of these girls was my pony there for awhile...but I have no idea which one.

  • Love it totally! Love how they danced it is excellent. For some reason the music plus the dance makes you come to a different world...

  • AWESOME synchronization in the tight formation!!! Also..its great to see smiling tribal dancers! Great job ladies! :)

  • ...and electric slipper has been banned. no one calls a bellydancer a cow, EVER in my book.

  • @trbaldreams Bravo. They did a number on my channel, too. Unfortunately they appear to be in hiding.

  • @trbaldreams and no one ever says i have a third grade education. Seriously, who was that person???

  • @trbaldreams HELL YA!!!

  • @trbaldreams Preach on, brethren.

  • @trbaldreams I Agree! A lot of belly dancers are thick

  • @electricslipper Actually Oklahoma is quite lacking in freak shows. These ladies are some of the best dancers in the tribal fusion community. To call any of these women fat is not only a false statement, but goes against everything that the ideal behind bellydance is. Bellydance is for everyone. I think every real bellydancer here would appreciate it if you crawled back under the rock from which you obviously came.

  • Some pointy heady naybob has insinuated that this spectacle is a fusion of Hula and belly dancing. This is a complete fabrication and an insult to the Hawaiian people. The "Kahiko" is an ancient standing presentation while the "Olapa" is done seated often with instruments. If anyone insinuates this tide of damaged flesh has anything to do with Hula, they are liers.

  • @electricslipper : after you take one of Unmata's workshops and they kick your ass, then lets see what you say then, that is if you could keep up with them....until then, I think you should keep your baseless opinions to yourself.

  • part 2! part 2?!?

  • the song is: RAMA COMMUNICATION - state of bengal

  • name of the song please

  • what is the name of this song? its great!

  • @electricslipper: Bet you can't do the shit those girls are doing.

  • @Wrathoverdose I can tell you are sensually challenged. Your greatest thrill is looking at undergarment ads in the Sunday paper. One day, when your gonads have fully developed, you may thoroughly enjoy the beauty of the Belly Dance. This "Fusion" bit is just a ploy for insufficient practice and muscle control. Good luck in your maturation. ..... No offense.

  • Electricslipper: Your visionary of what a belly dancer should be is just warped. Anyone can dance, and there's nothing you can do about it. Don't like it? Then take your eyes somewhere else. Don't want to? Then wallow in your horrid vision of a curvy girl with DD's in a skimpy outfit hopping about and calls it Belly Dance.. Seriously... just look up Dolphina... YOU'RE A GODDESS!!! -eye roll-

  • Very nice :) what's the name of the song???

  • panny SUPEERRRRR

    Muzyczka tez

  • Wow! So many bellydancers))) Impressive!

  • I love how all the beautiful dancers in this video are all shapes. Its lovely. These are real women with real talent. Keep it going ladies.

  • @electricslipper hey fuck you

  • @HighonBoots I you knew anything about belly dancing you would know these women lack some of the elementary moves and are quite uncoordinated in their routine. Your invictive illustrates you like of education and I do hope, someday, you will graduate grammar school.....No offense.

  • @electricslipper I'm sorry but I can't agree with your comments. Belly dance is for everyone. For your information, I'm very well versed in belly dance, both cabaret and tribal. I'm more tribal fusion, which separates itself further from more traditional belly dance. I can tell that you don't believe in innovation, and for that, I believe you will always stay closed minded.

  • @electricslipper funny, because it seems like that's all the exposure to belly dance you're ever going to get, and for that I pity you. The show Shimmy only gives a basic look into what belly dance really is, it's not just the slim and curvy women in cabaret costumes, although I have the greatest respect for them. I suggest Looking into more styles of belly dance. Until then, do us all a favor and shut the fuck up

  • @HighonBoots I don't know what electric slipper might have said, and I don't have time to go looking, but if it's one of the many very ignorant comments I've heard over the years regarding a dancer's weight, then yeah, ignorance often makes people say stupid things. Just ignore the idiots out there. Most people have only been exposed to Shakira who in my humble opinion is NOT even the tip of the iceberg. Belly dance is an ART form, encompassing a diverse group of women.

  • 最精彩的一段,可惜没高清版

    遗憾的是现在的unmata很难做到这水准

  • alot of people complementing the 'choreography'.....however, Unmata is Improv Tribal Bellydance not choreographed. Just thought I'd put that out there. Their improv vocabulary is very complex and pretty amazing!

  • @gypsytribal Very good =) Nice catch!

  • @gypsytribal thanks! It's good to see that someone understands what i'm trying to say

  • That dance routine and that amazing background are pieces of work! Damn!

  • Still one of my very favorites to watch. I love the waves at the end. Wish we had a complete video of the whole performance!

  • armpit hair!!!!!

  • This was beautiful! One of the best group choreographies that I have seen. Keep up the good work girls!

  • You girls are great,I loved every bit of your performance, just don't pay attention to these bad comments here on Youtube, that's just pure envy, and keep on dancing so good like in this video

  • que asco tienen pelo en el chivo! :S

    wakala de perro!

  • whats the name of teh song ? and i love this vid

  • Please refrain from posting negative comments. The choreography by Ms. Amy Sigil is simply amazing in my humble opinion, and I would challenge you (electricslipper) any day to try and come up with something as genuine and unique. Have a pleasant day!

  • @electricslipper Dude, those women are not that fat, and so what? that was an awesome routine and it should be a question of skill, not what your body looks like. And no, i'm not saying this because i'm overweight, i'm a dancer and i'm skinny. don't diss other people just to make yourself feel better.

  • It's great to see a group so in-time together. Large groups are often not in sync.

  • Great! Good choreography and staging for theese sexy ladies who probably had never any other dance training. Good work indeed!

  • wow they're so fluid ^_^

  • i have met them. great performers and very nice as women.

mystictouch9, did you mean will farrel?or the woman that performs with boom boom bollywood?

  • would be sooo funny if will farrel was in backround with small T shirt on trying to do same thing

  • I do think that would be funny too! Will farrel!

  • casi no me gusta el tribal

    pero este, omg ♥

  • como se llama esta cancion que bailan esta muy bonita, por favor me podrian de cir su nombre gracias por su atencion.

  • Very nice!!!

  • thats one of my fave things about the art of bellydance. doesnt matter your weight or body type or gender or anythiing! its about bringing your personality and love o fhte dance into your movements. and these ladies are fantastic too!!

  • @NicoleYB18

I agree with all but the Gender part, bellydance was made for a womans body to me it's not natural for a guy, sorry but that's what I think

  • @FurImmerGeliebt Actually, "belly dance" is a folk dance and a social dance that men, women and children take part in. In the West it's been women who've been shown on television and the stage so most westerners think it's a woman's dance. But it's not. ^__^ Not anymore than Ballet is for girls and karate is for boys, right? And most male dancers don't do the moves as a woman would do. Male Tango/Ballet/Tahitian/ballroom/whatever dancers do the steps differently, yet it's the same dance.

  • @rosereddoll Oh okay, well I've been told it was designed for women and I've seen guys do it and it doesn't look natural, kind of gay, and they don't really have anything to move, it just didn't look right :/

  • @FurImmerGeliebt Wow! O_o umm okay? I guess opinions like that are one of the reasons most boys are less than thrilled to learn any dance that isn't hip hop. It's because you're used to seeing female dancers that a male dancer seems foreign. Male Salsa and Rumba dancers twirl about and sway and shake their hips too, but only the most uncultured call them "gay". (As if there were something awful about being gay!?) Men can take part. Men dancing doesn't threaten the sisterhood. ^__^ Happy dancing!

  • @rosereddoll I like smart people. :) Thanks for not being the typical dumb-ass on the internet who thinks they know stuff just people they know how to use Google.

  • @rosereddoll not accurate. it's ancient weman dance that was danced in front of other weman or in ancient religous ceremonies. it is obviously tell the stoy of the female body in all its aspect - sex, birth, the period cicle, it teaches and express the body.

men had their dance, danced in front of other men, and telling their story. unfortunately, it didnt survive and that knowledge was lost. today there are men who dance bellydance, maybe because they miss their lost dance.

  • @adiiz100 lol ^__^ That sounds like an entertaining story. It's nice, but I think I'll stick to historical accounts instead of dramatic fiction. The idea that men had their own singular segregated dance from the beginning of time and women their own is a bit much. And the dance that survived belonged to the gender that was more oppressed? Hmm...^__^ No offense though. It's not your fault. A lot of sources tend to cloud this beautiful mystical dance with superfluous mythology.

  • @adiiz100 no offense taken. there are evidence from ancient mesopotamia to some of the history of the dance i'm reffering to. i do agree that there is no full picture of its history though. as for the fact it survived although it belongs to the more opressed sex - most patriarch societies r more threaten by men not following their strict rules and maintaining the "old ways", than by women. obidient men can always rule women by force.

  • @adiiz100

Unless she has a ton of money; then they are on equal footing.

  • @NicoleYB18 Exactly! Like I wanted to do ballet, but you rarely see big ballerinas D:

  • eso es mi mezqita de cordoba!!!

  • @ladyguitar16

i didn't mean to say that that b'ful girl was phat and danced thus ugly....

this thing we have here is such an amazing fantastic piece,as already so many people have said.

what i meant was,if she was a little slim, she would've looked darn graceful and added more to ravishin dance that it already is...but anyways that girl looked good. i never said bad.

more than that,i'm sorry if my earlier comment offended very much...sorry on that note.

  • Waw, they are great even now, but what a difference in 3 years - checked out Unmata on Tribal fest 9...

btw the girl on the Amy's left ( blonde hair) has lost weight. In video from tribal fest she's almost as thin as Amy. :) I guess practice does that, they must have been working very hard all these years.

    Great job girls!! :)

  • I'm amazed at how much they've changed too.. And it's not just Unmata.. Bellydance is in such a flux right now that things look different every year! Tribal Fest, Rakkasah and such are opportunities for these artists to show how creative and talented they are.. I eagerly await what they come up with next. =)

  • ak2agent47, she looks fine to me and i'm positive that she's not dislike her body because it somehow doesn't fit into the world standarts of skinny beauty. i like womanly figures))...

So i agree with ladyguitar16, yep, these ladies are free of inferiority complex and that's great!

  • They have hair? I thought their armpits were just dark, I'm not trying to say this in a bad way people so don't hound me..

  • @ak2agent47

She's not fat. A little bigger, maybe, but she's not fat.

And it doesn't matter anyways.. anyone can bellydance if they want to.

I suggest you watch FatChance BellyDance. That will show you that anyone can dance without fear of their body weight or shape.. these women love to dance and it's people like you who try to bring them down, but it doesn't work.

I have the same body as the girl you mentioned, and I still bellydance in front of friends, family, and my boyfriend.

  • @ladyguitar16 LOL me too and i know how it is. I usually get some disrespectful comment about my "weight" instead of getting good criticism about my dance. It doesn't matter how many times we say it though it hardly ever gets through! I still dance anyway! lol

  • Oh yes she is. And if in regular arabic belly dance that's even a +, I wouldnt like to see a tribal bellydancer like that

  • they could be better if the two girls could shave their arm pits.

  • It is about the dance, not the hair. :)

  • AWESOME!

  • I like it very very much, yo're really synchronised, and I just love the girl on whom there is close-up at 1.15.. she's a little ashamed but she can feel the music so well. Great job, ladies.

  • The song is Rama Communication by State Of Bengal.

  • Anybody know what the music is/who it's by? Have asked a while back but nobody seems to know............too busy discussing pit hair!!! lol

  • i do... i just don't find that funny is all. my sense of humour is obviously different to yours.

  • are you doing this to be annoying or are you actually a complete idiot?

  • Pause the video at :57, 1:09, and 1:43-44... you will notice that these women have indeed shaved. What you are seeing are shadows because there is lighting from the top and none from below. Perhaps now you can watch their dance without feeling so distracted.

  • Are you sure? Not all of the women have such a shadow... meh. Shadows or hair, it's not a big deal anyway.

  • FWIW, Shelly and Amy are very outspoken about their stance on body hair, i.e., they don't shave their pits at all.

  • @savvysunshine - ...and that's beautiful! I think women should be encouraged once again to allow their natural, earthy, robust womanhood to flourish! Frankly, I find it sexy! If Schick and Gillette can't handle it, tough $#*+!

  • Their dance is beautiful, but they really should have shaved for this. Not because body hair is unfeminine, but more because as belly dancers, they use their body to display their art and traditionally, these kinds of dancers, male and female, shave their body hair all off. It's comparable to how professional wrestlers shave their body hair to make their muscles stand out. Otherwise I'm all for the ladies having hair pits. But not for this form of dance; it's not true to the tradition.

  • JacksVendetta- I'm glad to see someone supporting the unshaved ladies & admitting body hair isn't unfeminine- it's simply natural. :) I'm confused about something, though- are you saying that traditional belly dancers shave all their body hair off, or are you saying, traditionally, tribal fusion belly dancers shave all their body hair off? I ask because if you're referring to traditional belly dancers, tribal fusion belly dancers are doing a non-traditional form of the dance to begin with.

  • You make an excellent point there, and it is indeed a factor that I neglected to consider. Since it is tribal fusion then one could definitely make the argument that body hair shouldn't matter, as the dance itself deviates from tradition. You are right. But the dance is, at its core, a belly dance. So I would personally prefer to adhere to the tradition of shaving off the body hair. It doesn't matter in the end anyway I guess, they are beautiful dancers.

  • So, what is the song's name? And they are VERY good. ^.^

  • the thinest are not the sexiest....

  • Would love tae see them dancin wae

    Clannan Drumma.

  • Forget the pits.......can someone please tell me the name of the track they've used??!!!

  • lol. Yeah, I want to know too.

  • sorry, i meant two THUMBS up!

  • veryyyyy goooooooooood!!!! two thimbs up to you all!!!

  • Great work! xoxo

  • a couple of my teachers! go girls!! Gotta love the Unmata Hot Pot!

  • Hot is Hot! hair or not!

  • Still on about the pits? Still? -_-"

  • wonderful performance! what is the song title?

  • Shaved....unshaved......who cares, it's all about the dance.

  • very beautyful choreography, but they got no the rythm

  • esta bien chvr ....! goood

  • What is the song?

  • Comment removed

  • unfortunately, no so much... i'm french, and there's just as much people scared of their bodies over here than anywhere else.

  • Comment removed

  • woah! Just a bit of sarcasm! No need to freak out! I could turn it around and say that I think my red hair is ugly as sin, but my fiance likes it, so beauty is in the eye, ect ect. Sorry to offend you. O_o'

  • Who cares if you offend someone on the net...don't kiss up

  • Great!!

    very good job !
