  • My Lai Village 1968

'When turned over to the press and Government by the photographer, those “unofficial” photographs provided the grounds for a court martial. Haeberle's[photographer assigned to Charlie Company] personal images (owned by himself and not the US Government) showed hundreds of villagers who had been killed by U.S. troops. More significantly, they showed that the dead were primarily women and children, including infants.'

    wiki, Ronald Haeberle

  • ABU....Thank you my brother

  • My uncle was in Vietnam he said it was the worst experiance in his life he said he and one of his buddys were out on patrol and his buddy had to take a piss and he said be right back and he went to walk he stepped straight onto a rope trap my uncle heard him yelling so he went over there and the first thing he saw was two congs cutting hes buddy open my uncles first reaction was YOU MOTHER FUCKERS they both turn around in time just to see my uncle shoot them my uncle went over cried for30minutes

  • 0:51 holy shit

  • They spent years crawling through the mud and watching their friends get painted red probably got cut open by "cong" traps many many times and this is the thanks they get i think we could support them a little more than that Happy veterans day to all

  • Thank You, and welcome home brothers.

  • I spent my 18th, 19th, and 20th birthdays there as a very young baby Infantry Sergeant daily leading young boys and sometimes even younger men into situations our Lord never intended his greatest creations to ever have to experience in this lifetime. I pray daily for the 63.287 souls of my brothers and sisters who never came home from the war of my youth now decades ago.

  • Beautiful tribute. Thank you.

  • I find Vietnam as a horrible war, where men were used as guine pigs for the governments acts to stop a other governments acts upon another country, I am not "hating" on the vets, I just find it sick how much families had to have the flag of their son/brother/father etc. returned to them, so much american blood pointlessly shed for a filthy war that lasted 10 years in resolution to defeat, pointless pointless pointless we should keep our nose out of other countries' buisness before it gets broken

  • Christ this war was a bloody helly war.

  • i really like this tribute. my dad is a Vietnam vet and has one eye which he lost there. he would prolly cry to this tribute he lost many friends during vietnam.

  • thank you for this tribute my grandfather faught in the vietnam war 2 tours i have heard his stories it was complete hell the men who fought in this war deserve our respect because our government was making them fight for a war that we couldnt finish so many brave men fought and died for a lost causeand for that they deserve al of our respect

  • "I knew that America would never invest the necessary funds or energies in rehabilitation of its poor so long as Vietnam continued to draw me and skills and money like some demonic, destructive suction tube. So I was increasingly compelled to see the war as an enemy of the poor and to attack it as such."

    - Martin Luther King, Jr., civil rights, antipoverty, and antiwar activist, 196791

  • instant dislike

  • @COMMUNISTPHILOSOPHY instant distlike... your mom, Commie. why did you even bother watching this. go suck a soviet dick

  • these sumbag red necks deserve nothing. By the way, the U$A lost, withdrew equals the same thing for you denialist idiots

  • @COMMUNISTPHILOSOPHY go suck a DICK

  • @COMMUNISTPHILOSOPHY dude you realize this is a tribute for the soldiers who fought, died and became disabled during this conflict. not the war itself.

  • @COMMUNISTPHILOSOPHY you shut your ass you dirty soviet bitch.

  • f**k who dislikes

  • Great pairing of music and images. Thank you, Motorhead938. I have watched this several times over the last year or so, and it still affects me each time. There is much about that conflict and our involvement the puplic may never know. I do know that the soldiers witnessed unimaginable horrors, and those who were there deserve tributes like this and more.

  • This is one of those video's that just makes you think. Why is war as a whole needed. Sure you can say its to serve your country or to crush evil but why the loss of life? Why cant it all just stop.

  • Thank you....

    from 1person in Vietnam

  • @hermionfrances hypocrite

  • @hermionfrances Make that 2

  • the war started long b4 65 it started in the 40s or 50s with the french and british ( i think we owe it to the survivors to get the dates right)

  • i Dont know nothing about vietnam,

but i do remember 2 vets,

    Sgt. Ayliah,

    and Lt. Eduardo,

who deserve more then working in a juvanile center,

But there stories help me be the young motivated man i am now,

    God bless all the vets,

  • How could you Dislike This Tribute?

  • OMG THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST TRIBUTES OUT THERE! WHAT I WOULDN'T GIVE TO WIPE AWAY ALL MY DAD'S TEARS OR HOLD HIS HAND. HE WAS KILLED IN VIETNAM IN 1971 AFTER ENLISTING A SECOND TIME. HE HAD NO REGRETS OTHER THAN MISSING HOME. HE BELIEVED IN WHAT THEY WERE SENT THERE FOR AND HE HELPED ALOT OF PEOPLE THERE. THAT WAR WAS NOT ALL ABOUT AMERICANS KILLING. THEY WERE ALSO THERE TO PROTECT AND HELP THE PEOPLE OF VIETNAM.

  • MESSAGE OF PEACE !

THÔNG ĐIỆP HÒA BÌNH - BÁC ÁI - HẠNH PHÚC !100

VIETNAM Tươi Đẹp Mến Khách 4 Phương Trời !100

  • My grandad fought in vietnam and he lost one of his arms by bomb and now he is still with me now but he will slowly pass away :(

  • Nice vidéo, Never forget the boy's and girls who served, died and missing in that awful war between 1965 and 1975. Average 19 years old. God bless them...

  • All the hippies and pay the soldiers out, they say all that shit now but when war comes they will be the one in the corner crying and who will they look for to fight away the big bad people? soldiers like these boys thats who...you should just think some time how bad they had it and remember the sacrifices they made...freedom is never free, and there are millions of boys who paid for it with there blood, swet and tears.

  • es triste de los miles de niños que murieron, digo niños porque a los 18 o 19 todavian eran niños y los que los mandaron bien a gusto en su casas viendo todo por television

  • The biggest bullcrap is that the nation didn't support the troops. I don't think that we should have been there but at least support the people dying for your country. The 60's were the worst time in America's history

  • I'm lost for words, nicely don!

  • My Uncle Was There

  • Thank you for posting! Great job. Lyrics work very well with the subject. It's so easy for the public to erase from memory what these men (boys) went through. This is a strong reminder.

  • Thank you for putting pictures of Australian troops in this clip some people forget we were there too.

  • thank you for this film i served in the navy during vietnam doing two tours of duty aboard the uss yorktown.and welcome home to all those vets out there .

  • I've read all of stuff -- and miss my uncles who are still rotting somewhere in Russia. What's missing here is the acknowledgement that 3.4 million Vietnamese died in their fight to regain their beautiful country, never mind those injured and with ruined lives. Is it OK if we build a wall somewhere with 3.4 Million Vietnamese names on it? Do we pray for them too? or are they just -- "gooks" as Americans say.

  • these guys really got screwed over. such a damn shame

  • @fokkermanjensen they deserved it

  • Hail Mike co. I went to their reunion in San Diego. I met the Legend. Bless these guys and pray for them. Semper Fi!!!

  • Thank you motorhead.....there is not a day that go's by that I do not think about those wonderful guys I left behind...I miss them.... John..... Company M... 3rd Bn... 4th Marines Viet Nam 1964.. !966/67.

  • I went to the vietnam wall so sad =-(

  • The way I see it if you dont like this video then take you and your draft dodging family elsewere cause your daddy probly was a draft dodger and you probly ran off to school after 9/11 and your kids will do the same which makes your whole damn family FUCKING WORTHLESS, Thank youfrom me and my father and grandfather and great grand father and great great grandfather, cause my family KILLS FOR PEACE

  • lol Evanescence? Hit up some CCR, for fuck's sake.

  • This song is perfect. Thank you so much for this. POW/MIA we will never forget.

  • how come usa lost didn't they have chuck norris? he killed like half of vietnam.

  • WooO nice video!!tribute for soliders in vientam

  • God bless America.

RIP all American soldiers who have died.

  • my grandpa was a doorgunner on the hue helicopter. godbless all those who fought for our country. and then there is countries out there disrespecting us and not showing any respect for us when we saved them from hitler and many others. god bless america and i hope all those "COMMIES" sees us from who we are. god bless those who fought ww2 vietnam or any war. just remember we are america and we are free.

  • I have an uncle that was there , you don't know pain til you hear an old man talk about the things he saw there with tears in his eyes. God Bless the troops. Past present and future

  • maybe the war wasnt a great choice but do u people who bitch really think it was their choice without these men and women u wouldnt even have the right to say those things so quit bitching

  • i cant agree more my dad was 101st airbourne during vietnam and he is disabled hasnt worked since 1999 and and i agree that liberals shouldnt be pushing them around like this how bout they tell us wat they were doing during this time they were ALL prob in Canada fucking pussies i respect the hell out of ALL vets who put there lives on the line for us

  • outstanding vide

to all vietnam vets welcome home

  • Beautiful tribute. Thank you for your effort to help heal the emotional wounds of the Vietnam Veterans and make the rest of us aware of their need for comfort, recognition and love. You have done a very good thing. Judge Joyce Murphy Gorman

  • If you're replying to my comment about being sick...then you misread MY post. I was calling korearichie sick for saying not enough soldiers died in Vietnam. How would that sit with you, seeing as your dad is a vietnam vet?

There is nothing wrong with doing a tribute with images, no one asked you to come in here and watch it. Then to come in here with bad grammar and profanity towards people who did nothing wrong, come on. Be damn thankful you didn't see combat, lots more did and suffer daily.

  • @csxt8058 Ahhh, Sory bout that, thought you was saying it to me.

Yeh, I do swear alot, ya gotta live right?

As some of these vids may help some they can also damage some too.

  • @redski1960 , if u havent seen combat, you are not much of a veteran in my eyes, have you even been deployed

  • you have+100 my point !

  • to korearichie' comment :you have +100 points of me

  • I see you're from the UK. So maybe your "great kingdoms" should make an apology to the world for colonizing countries on every side of the globe...

  • My brothers, watching these tribute vids of our fallen brothers with the sad music dont help for shit.

Makes you want to cry and then drink.

If your already drinking, , you drink more.

Then you start thinking about suicide.

    Want to help yourself?

STOP WATCHING THE FUCKING SAD SONG TRIBUTE VIDS!!!

We'll never forget, but we must not forget we have new lives too.

They may not be perfect but if your looking at this thread then your alive.

Time to live, move out soldier.

  • You have your own life, let them live theirs as they want. You weren't there so how do you know that this video makes them want to drink? You were what 14 years old when Saigon fell in 1975. I wasn't there either but my father was, and I and anyone else will never know what he went through unless we were there. So word of advice, dont give advice unless you were there.

  • ASSHOLE, I was in the army, and no, I wasnt there but my dad was and so were my unckles.

I know what they went through so for you to tell me what wotked for my family and friends dont mean shit dick fuck.

  • I helped a Temor Vet keep from killing himself because he used to watch them vids of dead soldiers and babies.

He dont watch them anynore and is alive today and thanks me from time to time.

    My dad does too.

Im not no mother Theresa nor do I calim to be, but you dont have to be much of a phsycologist to see what they can do to a man.

  • Im not on no crusade either, but one thing I can say is it helped 2 close people in my life, I hope it helps others.

    Is there wrong in that?

    IS THERE ASSHOLE?

    Go fuck yourself

  • You ever think these types of videos help some people? It may not help everyone but it helps some. Myself being one, these style of videos while sad do help me. My war is different from Vietnam, but the loss I feel I almost guarantee is the same type of pain felt by those who served in vietnam. And these types of videos help my mind get thinking about those lost and it triggers the good memories not the bad ones.

  • @redski1960 you would make a really shit soldier

  • MOst likely you never seen combat either, Probably discharged i training by the way you sound. FROM BOOTCAMP

  • Also, clean your mouth up a little, you represent your generation of veterans, do you want your generation of veterans to be represented by the words you chose below?

Think on that, I'm out, great video Motorhead938, did your brothers proud.

  • Maybe you can get a life and stop saying such sick and hateful things about the people who fought the war. My dad is a vietnam vet and has to live with the images of that living hell he went through, because of that he is disabled and hasn't worked since '86. I know there are thousands living the same way. The least you can do is support them, not come in here with your hate, saying things like not enough soldiers died..you're sick dude!!!!

  • For starters asshole, I wasnt saying anything bad about our servicemen you sappy fuck.

FACT, I avtually helped a Temor veteren from ending his life because he used to watch these fuckin vids.

And for the record, my dad was a vietnam vet too.

NO, there is no hate toward my brothers, yes, I am a veteren too, not of Nam, but a vet so if your a music maker and your dealing with your way, fine, deal with it, dont push your sappy music vids with pics of dead soldiers and babies on it you freek fuck

  • SICK?

What sick is not me trying to help veterens.

You have totally misread my thread or your just plain ignorant.

Do what I said to MGKUSMC and go fuck yourself. because like him, you misread the post and my intent was only to tell those who are veterens, LIKE ME, to not watch them.

I have been fortunate to not see combat but have many friends who have died and who have not.

If my tool works for one, what the fuck is your beef?

  • @csxt8058 My grandfather-WWII...my Uncle-Vietnam....my cousin-Gulf War/ Desert Shield/Storm...Me- Iraq/ Afghanistan...God bless your pop. Hes earned his rest.

  • @csxt8058 I agree with you. a vn vet

  • @csxt8058 my father was in the war. he commited sucide 14 yrs ago still haunted by the war Love you dad

  • Does anybody know how many US soldiers died?

  • hey paytheonn you can not read a damn word of what i said why don't you move along with you dumbass and read it again of what i said these men died over there for nothing trying to help people that didn't want help so read the shit again and shut the hell up

  • A certain Viet vet relative

of mine would have appreciated this. Thank you to all of the Viet vets who got a bumb rap.And by the way... FUCK all of the liberals who say otherwise!!!

  • this was a pointless war useless what did we accomplish there nothing just our boys dying in vien just like our boys in iraq come home safely guys i teared up just by typing

  • who are you so say such a thing. And guess what there not your boys. We want nothing to do with people like you. What went on there in Iraq are many good things too. Remember a demo pres put our boys in this fight. If you ask most who have been in a combat zone they are honored to say so. People like you will never know, all you can do is judge..

  • How about you take your pointless ass out of here. Nobody is interested in your pacifist coward views. Regardless of right, wrong, left or right, I don't believe this trubute to those vets had anything to do with your coward views. Now shutup and move along.

  • My dad was a Combate Enginer over there.

And also if this song doesnt bring the slightest tear in your eyes you arent a American

God bless all those heros that were over there

  • Great Video tribute...Thank You.

    Peace

  • The shot at :52 to:55 was amazing...this whole video was very moving..nice job...

  • The Vietnam war was a waste of Lives. We would take a hill or a like villiage and then the next day we would go back to base and do nothing. Then the viet kong would take the hill and or villiage and then we would try to take it. Nice Tribute.

  • This war is not one im so attached to, sinze i'm from Norway, but we recived alot of refuges to Norway due to the war.

Im generally intrested in war/combat etc. and i think this has to be a great tribute to all the soldiers that fought in this war...it definitly moved me...

    Nice peace of work...creds.

  • 2:01 is an australian just in case you didnt know.

    great video btw!

  • Nice job, that is all I can say nice tribute!

  • my dad was a mechanic over there

  • same here =)

  • Wow, pretty good video, thanks

  • My grandpa fought in Vietnam, good thing he survived.

  • If your grandpa is still alive he should hook up with my dad. They have reunions every year. These survivors need the support. They are awesome!!!

  • Yeah

  • You know this song gets used alot on Tributes. But it's never fit better.

  • my uncle was in this war sad how many people lost their lifes for d day and every war for america.

  • Thanks.

  • You Will Always Hold On To Me.

  • Im So Tired Of Being Here.

  • War is kinda like having friends if u hit one of my friends im gonna stick up for them that's wat allies are for if u attack them were gonna attack u back

  • No soy estadounidense pero siento mucho respeto a estos grandes heores

  • sad.....and god bless all those men

  • That's 2 million NORTHERN Vietmanese. Not South by the way.

  • You think it was bad for us? We lost approximentaly 50,000 soldiers. You know how many they lost? Approximentaly one million soldiers. Then later on at the end of the war, 2 million were counted after they counted the civilians. We anihilated them, yet it wasn't our war so we just left. I hate when people try to say we lost. If we really wanted to win we could of nuked them. We killed too many of their people, and felt it was uneccesary for us to watse more men, and kill more of theirs.

  • Well with the main focus on being a war of attrition, doing search and destroy missions, we completely murdered them. But a few years after the peace treaty, they stormed Saigon, and President Ford didn't follow the promise that President Nixon had of "Bringing back the bombers" If the treaty was broken. Its the same with the war in Iraq today. It cant be won, with no support on the home front. Technically the war was over when Saddam Hussein was taken out of power. Then why are we still there?

  • Yeah but come on... we did lose if you consider the fact that one American life is the equivalent of 100,000 of their Vietcong lives..

  • kinkbotx :you aren't right.The Yank's life is cheaper than VC.One bullet of AK 47 equivalent of 1yank's life,6 tons bomb for 1 VC-life ,Am I right?

  • @TrueUSMarine dont be an idiot. If you really wanted to win the goverment would have put more trained soilders into Vietnam. Did you know a lot of US soilders didnt know or even care about where Vietnam was? The soilders hated it there and there was such a shortage of High ranking generals or Lt they had any soilder be put in them ranks

  • This is funny. If you go through the ranks of Military today, Vietnam vets are spoken about as if they were gods. These people that served here have started a legacy that will only grow.

  • I have the highest respect for them and have researched what they have been thru. Maybe not gods but they should be highly revered. Semper Fi

  • Mainly because they came home to a country that, in a word "hated" them. We Americans finaly started to realise the fult. Young men were sent to fight and die for their country which they did without a second thought. This was one hell of a brutal war.

    - GySGT. Brown

    USMC

  • Well, you know where I am coming from Gunny. I think that you know that these people have started a legacy that is just now coming to light.

  • A brutal war indeed and we are still feeling the post effects for more than one generation.

  • My dad was there and I am so proud of him and love him so much! My daughter is doing her 8th grade Honors history project about him!! Love yo so much Dad. Mike Co. rocks and so do you!!!

  • God Bless Our SOLDIERS.

  • Great Job, My father Leonard B Harootunian Sr was in Nam from 1962- 1967 and just passed away from lung cancer at the age of 58 September 2008 died from Aent Orange all those years later and bit him in the ass , I feel for all our soliders who fought and are fighting and who have died in action Rest In Peace all of our fallen soliders, WE WILL NEVER FORGET !!! Leonard B Harootunian, Jr

  • Poignant video and touchingly lovely.

    Semper Fidelis brothers.

  • really nice job

  • Semper Fi is the USMC motto. It is not applied to any one specific war or campaign.

    Beautiful.

  • My grandfather fought in Vietnam. He recovered downed pilots. Thankfully, he was not killed. Thank You for making this.

  • semper fi..

  • semper fi was WW2 I thinks

  • Semper Fi is the Marines motto, it means allways fatefull in lattin.

  • Sorry, Faithfull.

  • very touching, ya know they say a grown man can never cry thats wrong.the picture show in 4:17 really made me think about how many people died serving our country, and yet there will be many more to come. good job +20/10

  • FUK USA

  • Not sure why you are saying "FUK USA". Perhaps you don't understand or are ignorant to the fact. Being British you should really know better.

  • your a fag im aussie and sometimes i dont agree with americans but seriously saying fuck usa about a war video isnt even funny your just a prick

  • Nice video. Mike Company 3/3 68-69 Vietnam

  • Were you Mike Co.? My dad was.

  • :::::tears:::::

Geeze, they're all just babies-- young kids! It breaks my heart to think of their cruel "welcome home", at the time.

I was just a little girl then, & didn't know the "shame" that so many attributed to the vietnam vets, themselves. Years later, I fully understand my mother's heartache, knowing her son, my brother, was serving. I only wish she were alive to see the internet @ its finest, as w/this tribute.

God bless you, Motorhead, for making this video/slideshow.

  • to all my brothers and sisters who served in the vietnam war ,welcome home and god bless. fellow vietnam vet

  • very good vid. good song, matches perfect

  • Very Nice jog on the video, good song and the flow of the pics is perfect. the song hits home

  • The 58,148 men on The Wall will always be there to ensure that I never forget this war and the sacrifices that these men had made. Rest In Peace men of Vietnam.

  • It's 58,169 I believe.

  • excelente video.me pone los pelos de punta

  • my cousin got killed and i have got his dogtags 23rd bat marines

  • Beautiful video.

    My father served Vietman '67-'68.

    1st Batt. 9th Marnies

    Saw too much at 18.

    To all of our heros.

    Semper-Fi

  • My uncle, John O'Grady, had been a Marine in this war. He had fought the NVA at Hue, he never talked about Vietnam much, said it brought back bad memories. He said that in war you might be fighting for your country, but in truth you are fighting for what is standing to your left and your right, your comrades. My granddad who had fought in WW2 nodded solemnly and said "thats right". He was actually spit on by hippies when he returned. Screw anyone who didn't serve in this war like a patriot.

  • Excellent video, brings back a lot of memories. Mike Company 3/3 Vietnam 68-69.

  • for all the men that fought and died in this war thank you for what youve given....you wont be forgotten

  • u.s. should have just nuked those north vietnamese bastards and end the war in 1 day instead of losing 3k GI men. hehe

  • lol except the US lost more like 58K soldiers.

  • To the idiot who says we lost . We never lost 1 battle over there- you cant say that about ant other war!! TG* 1st Brigade/ 755th Medical Detachment 170th Bikini/Buccaneers Dak-To>Pleiku -1970-+-

  • Thank you for this beautiful tribute and I thank the soldiers who have fought and continue to fight to keep our country free and safe. My husband is a Vietnam Vet and we have a daughter who is a victim of Agent Orange. God bless those who lost their lives for our country.

  • R.I.P

  • Very powerful and moving video. Well done. Like jayjay stated, take your trash elsewhere. This was set up to honor and give tribute to the service people, male & female of all branches of the service who were "Man" enough to answered their country's call. No run off to Oxford or somewhere else.

  • nice work motorhead

  • Some US man like groveboy101 always show me, that how many ignorant people live in this world... Hate is everywhere. It looks equal, that a groveboy101-like USman wants me "put in front of a firing squad", or a holyIslamahmed77 wants to blow me up with an I.E.D. bomb...

Shame, people, it is just youtube, where people just talk with each other LOL

  • Shot GIs in the leg multiple times to draw out his buddies to help him. Shot wounded over and over. Set booby traps like toe poppers with the intent to maim, not kill. You should be put in front of a firing squad you disgraceful piece of shit.

  • What would you do, If in the future for ex. China invade your home town, and drop bombs to your house killing all your relatives? I think, you would do the same brutality on a lost chinese soldier.

I think in your abject point of wiev my only mistake is, that the value of US life and a Viet life worths equal for me.

  • i think u dont understand war...we as a majority show compassion n combat and follow the laws of war...and no matter wat our enemys do will continue to follow them

  • Don't make a war, and there will be no casualities and injuries. very easy

there was some good people who died in this war on the U.S. side, but I support the Vietnamis morally, because they defended their homes.

Can U.S. politicians live in peace? or they have to make war all the time?

amies should pot each other AT HOME, they have 3,5 million sqm for that.

  • Listen here you dumb motherfucker. As long as humans exist there will be war, there's not a damn thing you, me, or anybody else can do about it. As for you supporting the Vietnamese, you treason-filled son of a bitch. Do you have any idea what those bastards did? Gave hookers tiny blades to kill American GIs. Desecrated American bodies. Lied them on top of bunkers with their dicks out, slit their throats and tied the bodies to trees.

  • I know it, groveboy101, I have read such things but my opinion will never change. There is another 200 countries on this Earth who didn't lose any soldiers in that war, because THEY HAVEN'T INVOLVED IT. Maybe war will exist all the time, but did US soldiers think, that war will be easy? "kill some yellows and we will be at home in 2 weeks without any problem" Or what? They went to kill, or not?

  • HAHA

  • Thank for one that served. Thank one serving. If you did'nt maybe you would have fallin on the soil of america

  • I joined because I cared, I cared for those drafted, for those who joined, for the cause, I learned it, and felt it, and I joined it.

these tributes like this which are not put down attacks are very meaningful and powerful,

many thanks for the respect this type of tribute gives.
