it is only the first kindle, that is the second nook, there was the color and the better version that is the nook tablet, the next fire, is probably going to be better than than the first.

the nook is prob darker so it wont strain your eyes as much

Nook tablet all the way!!! Kindle is a crappy version of the nook! It's a wanna be. Nook has overall better experience and thing like the movies,tv shows, songs and apps and not that big of selection....B&N will add all that in their next tablet most likely or in a system update In the future! Nook is better!!!! Sooooooooo better!

The Fire is just a device. The services they offer are not TIED to the device. You don't even have to root it to get the Amazon Appstore and Amazon Video Player to work on the Nook Tablet. Do a little searching on xda and you'll find out how easy it is. I can watch all my Prime video content on the NT without a problem.

Kindle Fire is so much better. The nook is so dull and boring. On the kindle you can do alot more things and it looks way better. Your paying 50 bucks more on a sucky tablet when the kindle fire is beast.

Hi! I'm not from the U.S, and I'm considering buying one of those Nook tablets instead of the Kindle Fire. Would you happen to know if the Nook Tablet allows downloads from outside the U.S? 'Coz otherwise, it's internal memory (15 out of 16 GB reserved for B&N content) might be useless for me. :(

Don't forget you can take SCREEN SHOTS without root on the Nook Tablet by simply pressing & hold in the N home button and quickly press on the volume down button. Wait a few seconds & a Screen shot notification will come up!

i can't speak for all the apps, but it looked to me that angry birds was 2.99 on the nook because it was hd. the fire one was not.

i am positive that is the difference in price. the same happens on the iPAD versus ipod touch apps. more pixels, more money.

B & N exclusively have HD for Hulu plus & Netflix. The fire can stream HD of course but will not be on those two services

I think B&N do the trick by decreasing refresh rate to save the battery life. Nook is the only one gadget that has noticeably flickering display. It do the same in other reviews.
