@matt46and2 watch some of my newer shit. This was four years ago, done in one take, with no prep, and my wife banging on the window to come in the house.. ( She had gone out, and I wouldn't let her back in till I was done lol.)
lol dude it's just to have fun and become a better musician. Being in a band doesn't have a whole lot to do with talent, it can be a lot of being in the right place at the right time and knowing the right people. If you can't be in a succesful band you play music for fun, and that's what they're doing.
ive never understood the point of forming a cover band. why would you want to mimick somebody else. i think its almost acting when you buy the same distinct guitar as well. i mean no one will ever take u guys for more than that group of guys that trys to be tool.
Dude, all sniping and bullshit aside, I'm going to help you understand this. You know the feeling you get when you are watching your favorite movie, or playing your favorite game, or whatever? Like "this is fucking awesome"? Most people have the desire to share that euphoric feeling with others. They invite people to share the sensation, to share the happiness that they get from these activities. That is what we do. It isn't a matter or getting glory or praise, but sharing a euphoric experience.
i understand that... i understand covering peoples songs just as jamming to get used to playing with each other and what not but why not evolve the sounds rather than mimick?
Plenty of people DO do that, and most of the time it sounds like shit in comparison. They try so hard to make it different that they just ruin what makes it wonderful in the first place. Honestly, I figured you'd think that trying to change someone elses creation into your own, would be worse than trying your best to share the experience it in its origional, unadulterated form.
AWW MAN REALLY?! NO RECORD DEAL?!?! Well fuck all this then, if I' would've known that , I would've never put any of these video's up. Good thing you told me. Shit I might as well quit playing guitar while I'm at it...
might as well its impossible to make a living as a musician unless your hannah montanna nowadays. also if i were to play in a tool cover band id call it "gaping lotus experience". every generation theres a band thats widly covered. in the 80s there were countless rush cover bands and 1000s of led zeppelin cover bands now it seems to be tool.
Well when your right, your right. Honestly gaping lotus experience did actually come to mind, but It was already taken by like 4 other bands. Actually Tool seems to be the huge minority compared to all the Fucking party band cover bands that are out there, at least in Chicago.
you know really a lot of people start to get in to drumming because of tool and it sucks cause they get out of that whole idea because playing tool its a challenge and to be able to hear it all be ear that some dedication i give you props man good work
... Can you hear? That's almost as close as to Justin as anyone can get. Great cover guys. I noticed a few screwups by Toolbassplayer though, I know he can do better though.
I'm just glad people aren't afraid to speak out against Brad. I like what he does but, he's accumulated some sort of Tool divinity on here and it's ridiculous. Other people make good tone/performances on here.
dude are you seriously stupid enough to believe that the little camcorder mic is sufficient enough to accurately represent his over 12 grand worth of equipement?
Well I can pull up quite a few of live TOOL cam recordings where the bass sounds like shat but I'm sure you like the Studio Versions right? Well when we get over a million bucks to record some "REAL SHIT", we'll get back to you LOL.
@matter311 As said below, I think you guys did really well, but I have to disagree with anything Tool sounding like shit in person. Maybe I've just never been there on a bad night?
@Stinkfiist0 I don't think that the sound matters what matters is the fact that they pulled off the song so flawless it's damn near impossible to say it's not bad ass because they did such a kick ass job at it, just because it's not up to Studio recorded perfection, who cares they did a fuckin bad ass job lol. I'm just giving you my opinion just because you said you said you don't have to comment against your decision, lol, I'm giving you my opinion and that's that lol
far from perfect, but i've yet to find a better cover :) i like your drumming vids matter, i'm a guitar player and have been for a few years now and just recently got myself a drum set. your vids are helpin me learn. lol thatnks
