@1111arn you can't download it but you can download the 1 hour trial version if you want the full game look on the internet to buy it. It should be very cheap since its an old game.

go to pttm directory copy base.scs and go to my doc/pttm/ and paste it and then rename it to base.rar and then unrar it in that directory and the file makes will show :)

go to your documents then the 18wos pttm folder then go to the config then scroll down till you see uset g_console "0" change the 0 to a 1 to make it look like this: uset g_console "1" then go in game press the ~ key should be just to the left of your 1 key onece your in the menu the only cheat you really need is cheat all typed in just like that then press enter and do it as many times as you want then press ~ agian to exit the menu

mate to make the speed go higher u need a big gear box the it will go faster

instead of modding the engine you can only mod the transmission.. its much easier.. since you can also modify the ratios.. its like 4 birds with 1 stone.. power, top speed, handling and maintenance.. You can change all of these for one even if its not really right.. adding more power for the transmission will give you more power in the truck... adding more handling for the transmission, will give u more handling for the over all of the truck.. etc

this is how you change the top speed of the truck.. the last gear in the transmission folder (speed) 6 or 10 or 18 or whatever make it to be like 0.8 for ratio..

all you have to do is change the transmission setting from like 1.9 to 1.0 in gear 6 or whatever gear high gear is

you go on the internet and like type in 18 wheels of steel pttm trucks and then go to pics and there should be mod pics there then you download them and move them to the pttm document and then it should be in the game

When I go to move it to my 18 Wheels of Steel: Petal to the medal folder, I have extra files inside. Maps, Music, Saves, Screenshots, Config, Controls, and Hw_Caps are all the other files. Do I just save it in the general 18 WOS: PTTM Folder, or do I have to save it in one of those specific seven folders?

I appreciate your help, I've never modded before.

yeah you just save it in the general 18 wos pttm, and then start up the game and see if it works if it does, then you should be able to go back to the folder and there will be a new folder and then that is were you put all the other mods from then on.

all u do to make the truck go faster is. copy a big engine out of a faster truck and paste it to the gmc folder.
