I think being part of SWAT would be one of the coolest jobs. Not quite as dangerous as a soldier and you get to stay in the US. Also every mission has a direct positive impact on our communities.

@NYPDPROTECTANDSERVE: Attack the person, not the argument? I don't think the government is 'out to get me'. It doesn't change the fact that the second amendment is not just for hunting and home defense. It was created as a check for our government. The people were meant to have the power to overthrow the government if it became tyrannical. Our gun laws don't protect cops, the criminals get their guns anyway, they just embolden the criminals and disarm the law abiding public.

If people were that likely to let their emotions get the better of them, there would be chaos on the streets with the number of firearms we have. Many states allow their people to carry concealed weapons (and they do in mass). The areas with the highest murder/crime rates are always those that have the strictest gun laws.

This should be an outrage to the public. I believe that I don't need a purpose to own a gun, it's my right too. I also believe that armor-piercing bullets should be in the hands of the public because those are the kinds of weapons that would be more useful in a rebellion. Gun control isn't about guns, it's about control.

People join swat to feel the adrenaline rush when they raid someone's house in a non-clever way. I agree that you may view "victimless" crimes as harmless. As a Criminal Justice student, I disagree. "Victimless" crimes may seem to have no victim, however, many times there is a victim. Take prostitution for example. Prostitution is considered a victimless crime, yet prostitutes are controlled and oppressed by pimps who take advantage of them. Is this victimless? Children who live at drug houses are exposed to potential danger on a dily basis. Is that victimless?

When alcohol was made illegal you had the same kind of shooting and gang culture surrounding alcohol, until it was legalized again. Now you simply buy it at the store...

Haha. I remember back in the early 90's when I was training at Capital Boxing on 12th and Stockton.
I sparred with 6 guys from the SWAT team for three rounds each. Yeah 18 rounds for me 3 for each of them.
None from the team even offered a threat even after me fighting for an hour straight and them just 12 minutes. A bunch of bitches. Strip the gear, put them one on one and they are not shit.
Even to this day, if you put me one on one with one of these bitches they would get kayoed

I can understand peoples concern with the development of a tyrannical government. Suppose that Premier Obama loses control of the house & senate this November, thereby and somehow forcing a police state in order to round up gun owners, health insurance tax evaders, Cap & trade violators, etc… who will take part in this? The only way for Premier Obama to do this is to somehow create his own joke SWAT made up of for example college professors, Obama youth, black panthers, MTV, CNN, etc lol

Why is it that whenever somebody stands up for the right to do something, people assume that person takes part in the act themself? @NYPDPROTECTANDSERVE: As for protecting us - when the police go after murderers and rapists they're protecting us. Those are crimes that involve victims. Those are real crimes that harm the public. When the police break into homes and bust people for smoking weed, as is often the case, they're not protecting me. They're oppressing us.

It doesn't change the fact that the second amendment is not just for hunting and home defense. It was created as a check for our government. The people were meant to have the power to overthrow the government if it became tyrannical. Our gun laws don't protect cops, the criminals get their guns anyway, they just embolden the criminals and disarm the law abiding public.

Sometimes I guess they are needed, but if you check the statistics of how many died on their jobs against how many others died, you'd see they are in little danger accept from mis firing of their swat friends. .....and by the way , 95% of them LOVE their jobs.

Why make a video glorifying these guys? They're oppressors, they break into homes because they have marijuana and shoot any dogs they see. They break into homes for 'firearms' violations, something that they have no business doing in the first place. We're meant to have potent firearms, in the event that our government becomes tyrannical. Police should stick to real crimes, like murder and rape. Smoking weed is a victimless crime. For a crime to be a crime there must be a VICTIM involved.

People who smoke weed are probably less likely to 'rape and murder', as weed pretty much just mellows you out and makes you hungry. Yes, the first thing a SWAT team does when they enter a home is shoot the dogs. There was a recent video where a SWAT team even went so far as to shoot a dog that was in a cage.

We are meant to have powerful weapons because we the people are meant to have the power to overthrow our own government should it become tyrannical. When I see our government say I can't have a certain type of bullet because it could potentially pierce their body armor, what I see is an attempt to restrict the ability of the people to resist.

@AnduinX My dad told me all about why we have that Amendment, I do not trust my government, but there has to be rules in society to keep peace because if every person could have a concealable gun then it would be horrible, there were many times that people want to kill someone but then get over it later, but if they had a gun then you never know.

If people were that likely to let their emotions get the better of them, there would be chaos on the streets with the number of firearms we have. Many states allow their people to carry concealed weapons (and they do in mass). The areas with the highest murder/crime rates are always those that have the strictest gun laws.

This should be an outrage to the public. I believe that I don't need a purpose to own a gun, it's my right too. I also believe that armor-piercing bullets should be in the hands of the public because those are the kinds of weapons that would be more useful in a rebellion. Gun control isn't about guns, it's about control.

@AnduinX I don't want to argue against you, but still, if you or one of your loved ones is at the bank minding your/their own business one day and all of a sudden it gets robbed and it turns into a hostage situation I don't think you'd be so angry with SWAT when they put their own lives on the line to rescue you/them. It's just frustrating to see that same force that should be used for good turned on the people's personal lives. When did it become OK for our government to tell us we can't smoke Marijuana in our own homes, or hire a consenting hooker, or build a deck that's 1 foot too close to the sidewalk for their taste? What business is it of theirs?

@WeLikeWhatsFree You say "they're just doing their job" and if that were purely true, there wouldn't be a problem. There's no need for a SWAT team in every little po-dunk town. People join swat to feel the adrenaline rush when they raid someone's house in a non-clever way. Cops are adrenaline junkies and purposefully put themselves in situations that could have been defused non-violently with a little skill and training. Instead they now elevate the aggression making The People = The Enemy.

I agree that you may view "victimless" crimes as harmless. As a Criminal Justice student, I disagree. "Victimless" crimes may seem to have no victim, however, many times there is a victim. Take prostitution for example. Prostitution is considered a victimless crime, yet prostitutes are controlled and oppressed by pimps who take advantage of them. Is this victimless? Children who live at drug houses are exposed to potential danger on a dily basis. Is that victimless?

The guns, the gangs, and the danger of the drug culture is a symptom of the black market. When alcohol was made illegal you had the same kind of shooting and gang culture surrounding alcohol, until it was legalized again. Now you simply buy it at the store...
