dvla are the scum of the uk. If you forget to tax ur vehicle they think they have the right to go fining you for a car being sat on youre private drive. Total fascists...

and if you lose your reg document, and never receive a reminder because the postal service is shite....then you can't declare SORN, and neither can you buy a tax disk from the post office. DVLA have changed the system and totally screwed it....total scum bags.
