They're not saying everyone who takes antidepressants has a worse reaction. Still, when I was a child everyone struggled to get through but we didn't go into schools and shoot up classes. We didn't take antidepressants. Today almost all the kids in my daughter's high school classes are on antidepressants. Deal with the real issues as a first resort.

I took paxil for eight years. I was very violent and had no fear. Scary acary stuff. I finally got off and it took 8-9 months to slowly taper off. ITs been 4 months off and I still had side effects from this posion. Fuck anit depressants and fuck big pharma.

either he murdered due to depression (very rare), had a rare reaction to an anti-depressant, or he had an undiagnosed psychotic disorder (uncommon, but still the most likely). come on, reciting shakespeare, personality changes reported by mum? this all screams of someone who has serious issues unexplained by depression. this whole article is like saying "people on antibiotis are more likely to die from infection", ie peole on ABs have an infection, therefore higher risk of infection killing them

depression includes slow thought, poverty of speech, sense of impending doom,helplessness, fatigue, loss of appetite, etc, and is very rarely associated with homicidal behaviour (more suicidal). my immediate thought would be he had both a mood and psychotic disorder (eg schizoaffective disorder), and by only treating the mood aspect, his mood lifted and he felt happy, energetic and confident enough to act on psychotic impulses. and so.....

this is shit journalism. my favourite part was when they were listing the kids, and threw in a few who werent on antidepressants, and just said "we dont know if these kids were on antidepressants". terribly misleading. in addition, could the raised suicide rate in kids on anti-depressants have anything to do with the fact that the child was disturbed BEFORE taking the drug (hence the need for psychiatry),so its more "antidepressants didnt help them" rather than "antidepressants made them do it"?
