If you do decide to open this and upload a photo, I might be able to help you alter the volume. It should be as simple as adding or changing the resistor in the speaker circuit.

Alternatively, if it uses two batteries, will it work with only one inside (i.e. wired in parallel)? If not then it should be safe to put in one and replace the other with a wire (i.e. wired in series).

@EVAUnit4A That being the case, it should be safe to put in only one battery and replace the other with a piece of conductive metal, so the toy will be working on approximately half the normal amount of power.

A safer but more difficult alternative would be to get a suitable diode and use that instead of one of the batteries - if you put it in backwards nothing will happen at all, if you put it in correctly (and assuming normal 3.0 volts) the circuit should work out to approx 1.0v.

I agree with you about the mechs. Geki Rin Touja is the only one I like. Of course I feel that the chameleon is just there for the sake of being there, like Ebi Origami's fan on the final mech in Shinkenger.

some are nice, but for the most part yeah it blows. I dont know whats up with the USA and there toy manufacturing. if they made good quality toys they may get more sales which would balance out the cost for better materials and could justify some of the over priced stuff on the market.

Agreed. But, they won't listen as much to fans since they make up the minority of the market. And parents don't think about quality enough to write in and say their kid liked it but not as much as fans/collectors disliked it.

Now, to be fair, BA has made *a few* small collector-oriented PR lines, but these are usually too generic to be of any interest, or lacking in similar detail as their larger mass-produced counterparts. The money is all going overseas.

We also have to consider that BA may know the differences between Japanese and American markets, and what works in one market may (not) in the other as successfully.

That I am aware of, there was only ONE time in the last 10 years where BoJ made something extraneous that wasn't in the show. In "Boukenger", they made mini Gougou Vehicles that became armor for the respective ranger. These were later brought over as Battlized PRs for the "PROO" line.

Yeah, kinda. But, for me, it was more about having the three main Geki Beasts be wildcats, and then everything else *wasn't* a wildcat. WTH? That, and they're mostly block-formers with *very* simple transformations.

...oh, and battery compartments poorly disguised as fanny packs.

Oh, IDK- PRDT and SPD had some good stuff; they just didn't have the budget to do anything really fantastic with 'em.

(I stopped watching after SPD, so I don't know how any of the others ran. That PRMF theme was epic FAIL.)
