I know you probably meant it as a joke, but that's Robert Stack, who played Elliot Ness on "The Untouchables" (TV Show not Movie), not Elliot Ness himself.
Now we have these tea party social conservatives who remind me of the people who brought us this 18th amendment. People like Sharon Angle and Christine O'Donnell would probably be for this amendment.
Funny thing. Although the Volsted Act prohibited the manufacture, sale and distribution of alcholic beverages, nowhere in the language did it prohibit the actual USE OR CONSUMPTION of said beverages. Quite the loophole!
@daveyork0 you're crazy, you might as well try to stop the wind from blowing with your hand, laws don't stop drug use and the Qu'ran is BS, so is the Bible and I ching lol
And The USA has still not learned that Prohibition STILL DOES NOT WORK Every time you prohibit something someone sell it illeagally.
TAKE the war on Drugs for example thousands of people in jail/gaol every year and still the USA Spends trillions of dollars trying to stop the import and use of drugs.
WAKE THE FUCK UP Prohibition DOES NOT AND WILL NEVER WORK PERIOD.
Okay I get it .... America needs Alcohol... Ever wonder why we need something like that? Alcohol contributes to 100,000 deaths per year. People that do not even drink are affected by it. The government is spending so much money to help these people with the alcohol problems and yet they are asking to be sick! The warnings are everywhere! It destroys family, relationships, jobs, and the body.
My dad was born in 1922. He told us that when he was a little kid he would carry a bag with jars of moonshine to a brothel. The madam would give him a cookie in repayment. I didn't get to hear all the old stories, but once at a funeral while driving to the gravesite he pointed out headstones to my brother. He told him about the gangsters killed during Prohibition. This wasn't even a big city. Violence was everywhere back then.

It's not that America needs alcohol, it's that Americans need to make their own decisions. Hell, I hate drinking, but I do love freedom.
