does your drive still work? its prob been 1 year that you had it and i was wonderin how the life span is on it. i ordered 1 just yesterday

Yep, it's been a year and 3 months. I love this thing, and have had no problems with it. I used to have some LaCie POS thing that loved to die at the worst times. This is one of the drives where if you drop it, you probably would f--- it. It isn't really meant to be dropped, but then again, what hard drive was? I would definitely recommend one of these to anyone. What size did you get?

sounds like i good drive, i wouldve got the 1 terabyte on amazon but they were all sold out so i settled with a 750 gb just like what you have for about 100$ and the 1 terabyte was just 10$ more

your camera (FW400) and hard drive (FW800) are sharing the bus. meaning your not getting the full speed out of the FW800, google it. then again some say with the slow internal drive of the MBP (some versions) u dont see the difference...
