In fact, a lot of otaku magazines tend give any review of the night warriors anime...well, let's just say one of them gave darkstalkers a "D" in anime. Plus not every Japanese film is great, I mean,have you SEEN the trailer for "RoboGeisha?" Typically, what Japan (and most other countries) do is send the best films they produce abroad, while the other 95% never leave the country.

@otaking3582 Uhhhhh, I don't know how that would work, given the fact that, unlike some fighting games, most of the characters in Darkstalkers ARE of European descent, so having an all Japanese cast for characters that are, for the most part, white, wouldn't really work. I'm not trying to be offensive or anything, it's just that when Jon Talbain or Morrigan Aensland are mentioned to be English and Scottish, it doesn't really work to hire someone from Tokyo.

i dont know with the rest of you guys but there's hope for a darkstalkers live action not being a total piece of crap. I mean first of all it's not gonna be about martial artists competing in some mysterious tournament with the sponsor having aspirations for world conquest, it's gonna be a film about MONSTERS. plus some of these dark ones are based off hollywood creatures. All you need to do is introduce succubi and cat women into the mainstream and hope a die hard DS fan directs this bad boy

OK, as far as I know, Hollywood is not doing a Darkstalkers film. I've checked and rechecked, and so far no info on a darkstalkers movie, live action or otherwise.

So where the hell is everyone getting this info? Because if it's from Bruce Acosta of Austrailia, I wouldn't get your hopes up. He wrote those posts back in '07, and three years later, no sign of a darkstalkers movie.

@TheWolfMan1941 I reckon if it was done well (ie. outside of Hollywood) it might be a fighting game adaptation more welcoming than most other ones that have been released to date. Be extremely tough to write and direct a decent adaptation of Darkstalkers though.

I just finished watching this 4 episode OVA, and it was one of the greatest things I've ever seen. I'm not much of an anime person...I just like watching shows based on the video games I like to play and this may be the best one I've seen yet. Amazing fight scenes, great writing/dialog, wonderful characters, and flawless animation.  Its too bad they didn't make an anime based on Vampire Savior, because that would've been awesome as well.

There are a number of albums on youtube, which is where I ripped much of what I have. You can then look on ebay periodically for old used LPs, which gives you a license for the music and a poster. ~$20usd

CDs in Japan are about ¥3000 new, ¥1500 used, so factor in importer profit and shipping... yeah. pricey.

Coincidentally, I'm in Japan on vacation, and going to a record release party for his new album tomorrow.

For those that are interested in Darkstalkers, go to your nearest book store & order. Darkstalkers Graphic File Book. It's really worth it! I goes into about the character backround info (incuding Donovan, Anita, & Jedah) It also shows artwork of what the character were going to look like before there final appearence (Morrigan was going to be a female vampire, L. Raptor was going to be a solder who died in battle etc...)

Now go buy it! Anyway, nice video dude!

Well, in the OVA, he seems to be the strongest when he unleashes his full potential. But Demitri is always considered the Demon World's strongest demon. Jedah might be able to beat Demitri, so you could see those three probably as the top three maybe. I'm not entirely sure.
