It's interseting how Mayan script goes back to 300 AD. Yet , when you mention the reformed egyptian script used by the Nephites, everyone throws their arms up into the air, like its science fiction. Who says the people of Mesoamerica, who also used glyphics, were so far behind the ancient world before Nephite times. Who knows what else they had in common. Metals, roads, chariots, etc.
