C'mon! Nobody's that dumb! It's pretty obvious that Richard was in their hotel room! lol! It's a cute movie, minus the plot holes. :) I like the time-period ambiance.
YEAH! That registry would convince ME if my signature was on it! But, dude, you gotta tape over those electrical outlets or something! "I made it!" Yep! Say goodbye to anti-perspirant! ...OH GOOD JOB! Walk toWARD the door when the guy checks who left! I may never have thought of that. (Not being sarcastic.)
This movie is set in 1912; "You Made Me Love You" was published in 1913. And American men were not wearing bowler hats in 1912......but I expect his character might be expected to be 20 years behind the fashions as he is from "the future". In any case, it is a charming movie.....much the same sort of plot and theme as "Titanic".
@amcoca Not at all like Titanic. Titanic was historical melodrama revolving around the huge epic disaster sinking.. This is about TIME TRAVEL with a romantic twist: a man from the late 1970's who goes back in time and falls in love with a 1912 actress. The plots are completely different. Only the 1912 period is the same.
Yes, the plot and theme is exactly the same as "Titanic". "Time travel" is incidental to the story. So is "historical". Maybe you should watch it again.
@amcoca NO you should see it again. There is no actual physical time travel in Titanic. 100 year old Rose is REMEMBERING in her mind, not going back to 1912 as if on a time machine. In Somewhere In Time, the guy literally goes back in time to 1912, leaving behind his world of 1979 Chicago. THERE'S NO TIME TRAVEL IN TITANIC.
@AmericanEvita Actually, there were numerous articles and commentaries on the many, many similarities in plot, characters, motives, period, props, and themes of the two films when "Titanic" was released. I'm surprised, frankly, that you are unable to perceive them. Maybe if you merely google "similarities titanic somewhere in time" you can find some of them. I'm not sure why you seem so stuck on the "time travel" of Somewhere in Time. That is not what it is ABOUT, just a devise.
Chris Reeve was the best actor for this film because, like Superman he could make you believe in dreams. If anyone else had done it, the magic would have evaporated.
