ironically, such a great game, and i actually think thousands of more english/american played it then russians, yet they only supported the game in russian. its flawed as fuck appaerantly. haven't played it though. looks beautiful but barely exists in some places on earth anymore for some reason. :(

Guys I need help ! I have no idea why, but when I try to play this game nothing happens, I double click the game icon but it doesn't enter the game, any Solutions? Even strange I played this game before on the exact computer and since then nothing changed I only uninstalled the game and I installed it again and It doesn't work.

@1DarkArchmage1 I don't know if it'll fix your problem, but there are a few glitches in the game. Google for Age of Pirates 2 fixes mod, and see if that helps. It's called the Combined Mod, it should be the first choice.

I tried playing Age of Pirates 1 Windows 7 a year ago and I had to mod the everliving crap out of it so it wouldn't crash. Actually, that game does not have a bad community when it comes to fanmods that fix crashes and bugs, if I recall correctly.

Although, while I was playing I found out that one of the modpacks I installed had an interesting feature where whenever you visited a brothel and ordered a night for yourself it would play a 10 to 30 second softcore porn scene. Hawt.

I love pirate games and when I heard a friend had this I was all over it. As far as pirate games go this is probably the best one I've played. This is all despite the incredibly frequent crashes. It crashed about 50% of the time when going into a loading screen, and I even had a few crashes when saving :(. If anyone is thinking about getting this try to borrow it or... something, before you do. If your computer runs it well by all means, GO FOR IT! Otherwise be prepared for frustration. :\

@VadimCool ...Civ4 and am hoping to get a good enuff computer to play Napolean Total War and some high-end PC games (with ATI 5870, i7, and so on). Sid Meier's Pirates was also fun too but yes you are right, it is more arcade than simulation. I wish they would make a much better pirate game that is next-gen. I found too many problems with AoP2, and the AoP series as a whole. I haven't checked in awhile, maybe I'll go see what the modding community have cooked up.

to anyone who want to get this game BEWARE: it is extremely hard unless you are a fast learner(even on sailor difficulity aka very easy). First learn how to make money and try avoiding ownership of big ships they consume a lot of money.
