Stoupe is a genius, my all time favourite producer hands down and considering all the beats on VBD were probably done in his bedroom on some piece of shit makes him that much better. He needs to get the respect he deserves
@undergroundschool wow great this man beats a few surprising especially when used in Spanish samples, Greetings from the land of the vinyl Bogota Colombia.
Stoupe is honestly a genius in creating hiphop beats... who the fuck thinks of sampling the most obscure music, and turn it into something in the hiphop form? Old Songs, TV, Movies, interviews, even video games... I dont know any other producer who can think like that.
@DJMastaTech Lots of great producers do that. Stoupe's influences, dudes like Large Professor and Pete Rock, sampled mostly old soul and funk records. Stoupe's major innovation was sampling ethnic music, mostly Latin, but also others. (The very first sample in this vid is a Greek bouzouki.) But to do that, you need to have a wide range of musical taste and really listen to a lot of old shit...something that most "producers" today don't and won't do. They're too lazy.
@DJMastaTech stoupe is great, but you're wrong in saying no other producers do this. hiphop is based on finding obscure samples from the most obscure and ironic places.
Please, lease please, someone tell me the name of the song in the first 10 seconds of this vid. It's so amazing like with all the greek music. Thanks for any replies.
technicaly you cannot sample without permission from the copyright owner, but, there are thousands of producers who sample tracks without permission. the only worry you have is if one of your sampled tracks makes it big because then somebody might hear it and take you to court.
@dumpinfoolz420 using a sound from another artist's copyrighted work is copyright fraud. EVERYONE MAKE SURE YOU WATCH "COPYRIGHT CRIMINALS" WHEN ITS OUT WITH DJS LIKE Q BERT, RAPPERS, GROUPS AND THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN SAMPLED!
sucks anyone can add drums to someone elses stuff. all producers like that suck and are not creative they just add drums that they got from someone else they are about as talented as the managers that put boy bands together living of someone elses hard work is leeching. cant stand leeches
you're clearly an idiot. listen to the whole fucking video and compare the original samples, the difference is incredible on some of them. why can't people like you just face that hip hop is like that and stay the fuck away from videos like this
@brammers56 i agree and it doesnt matter if its the same. there is a skill and finesse to the art of this kind of sampling. if you wanna talk shit about how unoriginal it is talk shit about eminem directly rapping over an aerosmith song .. not a raw ass producer sampling obscure shit and chopping it up like how hip is SUPPOSED to be done.. people need to get over the fact that hip hop is not the same as playing in a band.. its just a totally different thing so get over it
I agree with brammers. You clearly have zero musical appreciation whatsoever. YOU are in fact the lame manager that puts boy bands together, faggot. You know nothing in the form of hip hop, let alone musical theory.
Most producers sample because sampling has a certain gritty sound to it that can't be properly achieved by using keyboards and other types of "synthetic" instruments. Alot of rock bands hate on Hip-Hop for using "fake" instruments and "fake" drums. It's all music my man. Sampling sounds dope. Keyboards sound dope. Real guitars sound dope. Why hate?
vinandbrit...half the music you listen to is probably sampled or covered...but i guess you would be too ignorant as to where your music comes from to realise that
i guess you dont jedi mind wery well, cuz stoupe is known for having 50 or even up to 70 different samples in his tracks, but if you think its easy to be a produser, then why dont you get crackin producing???
your a fucking moron... don't badmouth something you know nothing about, just because you've seen a video or two about samples does not mean you can put down generations of genious sampling.
I never knew why i identified so closely with stoupes style, but knowing he samples ALOT of spanish music it makes more sense why his shit seems to touch my soul.. haha sounds corny but wordlife, duke is sickk!
