@Blackbarbietea she washes it in twists because she wants to make sure her hair stays tangle free. Also she wants to control how much mud she uses. That particular product is expensive. Hoped I helped! :)
@Blackbarbietea Just like her, I noticed it's much easier to wash hair as it's sectioned. Depending on the thickness of your hair, it could be difficult for the products you want to use to be thoroughly distributed if you just wash it as just an afro.
Hi girl! I just love your techniques... I'm a newbie when it comes to natural product... before seeing your video, I just purchase the "Indian Clay" do you think it would be the same effect as your Terressentials?
You are 100% correct about the Terressentials Organic Hair Wash. I have had my hair in braids for almost 6 weeks, I was so worried about the tangles I was going to have to deal with after I removed them. I saw this video last week and I refused to remove my braids before I picked up a bottle. I saved so much time using the Organic Hair wash, I don't think that I am ever going back to shampoos. thanks so much!
Can you help me. I use this mud wash and I still have trouble detangling my hair. What do you use to detangle? Can you offer some advice? I don't use any harsh products, just the mud wash and shea butter for moisturizing.
Hi!!!! I wanted to share something with you, an easier way to use Terresentials! I squeeze the amount of mud I normally use in a spray bottle and add a little warm or hot water enough to spary muddy water and I spray it on my hair!! I love it!!!
that organic mud wash use is made like 10mins away from were i used to live. im getting my mother 2 go 2 there store in Frederick, MD. I also wanted 2 know if you could help with getting this product into Whole Foods stores. i called them and they said if enough people call and write in then would put it into there stores. Thanks
you mentioned that you wash your hair "with product once/month" what exactly do you mean by that? Does that mean you wash once per month with the mud? or does that mean that you use another product more often than the mud? so confused by your notation. :-/
Question, I've watched a couple of your videos about washing with TOHW, but you didnt mention anything about following up with a conditioner, do you use conditioner?
@risesunshine i think she just seals with shea butter....it's probably just what works for her hair...it's all trial and error...i personally have to use a conditioner after but not much...
I have problems detangling my hair with the Organic Hair wash, I have tried the Lavender wash and the Left Coast Lemon version. It's tough even detangling with my fingers never mind a comb. Open for suggetions 8-)
I love this method! It took way less time, was super easy (I finger detangle) and I've retained more length by not allowing my hair to be loose and wet. Thanks!
just when I think I should flat iron my hair, you save me from frying.lol Omg yay, I didn't have a clue what to do for winter and being so bus on campus right ow I hardly have time to style my hair the way I want. This really helps!
I was just curious; how long does this entire process take you? You re-twist your hair often, and I can barely manage to do a single twist (my ends fray and don't stay together like yours do)... :-(
I've been using this for a month now and I'm having issues with dry scalp which was never an issue in the past. I'm going to try doing this ACV rinse once a month to see if that helps and maybe a hot oil treatment mid-month.
I also have been having issues with dry itchy scalp while using the mud (Left Coast Lemon Wash). I havent figured out what to do the help. I have one more wash left in the bottle and Im think about doing a ACV rinse after the mud to see if that will help.
I love all of videos you are kind of a hair model to me,I can't wait to see my hair growing like yours
I've just tried this washing method but with shikakai (it's like amla I think) and it was soo easy and my bathroom is so thankfull because there is not as much "dirt" as before. Thanks again keep doing your thing you are great
Reading is fundamental... I did this shortly after you posted this video. IT WAS GREAT! So great, that I did it again the following week.... no bueno. My scalp is now super dry so I'm in rehab mode LOL. It is def a good routine but ACV should only be used in my hair probably once a month, I'm a goof for that one :) thanks for your videos. You've helped me to grow the longest hair I have ever had and it's SO simple!
One part ACV to three parts water is very acidic. You would have to put it with at least 100 parts water (half a teaspoon for every 8 ounces) to bring the pH up to a 4.0 into the safe hair range.
Why do you prefer to use Terressentials vs purchasing Bentonite clay and mixing it with aloe Vera juice and oils? It would be cheaper and you don't seem to mind creating homemade mixes.
@AlNisa21 i'm guessing she just likes the product so much and doesn't mind paying for it..i've heard of others that have made their own mixes and terresentials and continue to buy terresentials because they just like it much more...
I tried reading through your comments before asking a question that may have already been asked. Gave up, so many comments. :) Just found you today. I'll be watching from now on. How long does it take you to do all of that and how often do you do it? I'm trying not to gave up on natural hair with length. I am ready to chop it all off just not to have to deal with it. Haven't had a perm in 7-8 months but I don't have a lot of time to fool with this stuff :) and I work in a Hardhat everyday.
I'm so grateful for all of your videos. You inspire me so much so for that thank you! I've been natural for a little over 3 months now and I can only hope that my hair will be as beautiful as yours :)
Just wanted to tell you, I finally got around to washing twist by twist and I am so pleased! It was easier and faster than I thought. Boy, what definition!. Thanks again.
I started watching all of your vids yesterday and am highly impressed! I can see how full and long your hair has become, and it is a breath of fresh hair to see such straight-forward methods and beautiful outcomes in the end. I have hair in the 4's and still haven't found anything to help me so I'm eager to try Terressentials.
Never thought of apple cider vinegar on the hair so thanks for that too! (^_^) I started using it on my severe chin acne months ago and haven't had it since.
after watching this last week, I couldn't understand why I hadn't used any of my FOUR applicator bottles for my wash regimen before! Made my life SO much easier. And the ACV rinse before??? Genius. I had been doing it as a final rinse. Doing it your way, my scalp never felt cleaner!
i love watching your videos and not only learning tips from you but watching you on your journey and your hair gets LONGER and LONGER! Thankyou so much.
just wanted to update - i used this on my serious 4b hair and my son's hair and it left our heads clean and our strands soft, yet strong. thank you for such a streamlined hair cleansing routine. I didnt use the ACV - i did an acv rinse a few days ago to avoid dryness and remove the first phase of buildup. Blessings and thanks!
Nice! I detangle before washing (outside of the shower) and wash in twists too. This method is awesome for longer natural hair. I love ACV rinses to keep my scalp healthy so I'll try the applicator bottle technique. I can't wait for the conditioning treatment vid!
Thanks for sharing! Your videos are always wonderful my fellow Jamaican sister :) If I recall correctly from your review of the hair wash you mentioned that lemon is not good for our hair, can you provide more info on why? My apologies if you've already expanded on that. Since you reviewed the hair wash many people are loving it, but I keep seeing how they love the Left Coast Lemon, because they feel it is moisturizing than the Lavender.
I love all of your videos!! Even the short simple ones :) you're my inspiration...you taught me how to take care of myself & my hair & also love them too...I love seeing that you've posted a new video....I wish you could post one everyday but I know you are too busy & that would be selfish of me haha anyway I just wanted to say thankyou for everything...you are a beautiful person inside & out..I hope I can be as successful in life as you are (I'm 14 so I have a long ways to go)keep making vids!
Love your videos! Thanks for the info, I was just wondering if the "mud" is ph balanced? Do your curls bounce right back ? How often do you "deep condition" now that you are using the "mud" ?
how long did it take you to get that length? i'm dying for my hair to grow a bit but it seems like every one/two year I loose hair in the very middle of my head. That's gross and of course it happened again... what shall i do? great channel.
You are my favorite on youtube, I've watched all your vids thanks for all your time and investment researching products for us. I made the fluffy shea butter, the flaxseed gel. Have you made natural dedorant? If so will you please let me know how you made it. Thanks for being true to yourself.
Became loc-free a few months back. Combing hair after 15yrs is a little overwhelming but I got my Terressentials Lavender this weekend. Never have had my hair truly squeeky clean before. I love it!!! Results with a twist out......beautiful! Thanks for the advice! Keep the videos coming. Your advice has been very helpful to me. Nice to see positivity from sooo many sistahs. Keep doing your thing! :)
you hair is looking SUPER healthy. I love it! I wonder if I could use bentonite clay instead of the organic wash... just cause i have a bunch of bentonite clay. Maybe if i mixed it with some oils etc and maybe some honey? I suppose it would be an experiment lol
Your hair is like mine but longer and you take really good care of your texture.. Please tell me what you use in your hair and what you used to promote faster hair growth ?
This process has my very 4b hair in ringlets! Needless to say, I am very pleased. Naptural85 I thank you for taking the time to upload your easy to follow and very informative videos. Well done!
Thanks for the suggestion - I've read about the henna and indigo dye options. However, I heard that both dry out the hair. Henna also gives you a reddish tinge which I don't want. Thanks again for the advice and if anyone has any other suggestions please send them!
Just wanted to say thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. Because of you my natural hair is healthy as ever. Love your videos girl. Please keep them coming. You are such a help for new naturals like me.
I love how simple you made washing longer natural hair. There are so many videos about people agonizing over their routines with longer hair. Thanks for the tips and the breathe of fresh air!
Thanks Naptural85! I was wondering how I could make my Terressentials Mud Wash supply last longer while still being able to clean my hair. Now I know what to do!
Can you use Terressentials on previously dyed hair? I have had natural hair for 11 years now but used dye for the first time in years in April 2011 to cover gray. Couldn't take it any longer ! :) Anyhoo - I decided to ride it out and no more hair color. What's your opinion on mud wash on previously dyed hair and 2) any recommendations for hair starting to turn gray - some of us natural hair girls are past 25 (lol). Thanks. You're the best and an inspiration.
If you mentioned this already, sorry for asking again. Where in MD did you purchase your mud. I would like to go into the store and pick it up oppose to buying it online.
i dont know how you would feel abt this, you probably wouldnt like it but i wanna see you with your hair flat ironed LOL its soo soo long now. just once pleeeease ^_^
I am so glad you made this video. Do you wash more often in the Summer? It is really hot here in the South. Do you think Aloe Vera Juice could be used instead of ACV? Love your videos!!! :)
@AdoreHFM it's terressentials mud wash. you can go to their website and it tells you more . It is a mud wash but at the same time it deep conditions. There are about 5 different mudwashes depending on what kind of hair you have... dry, oily ect
Great vid & beautiful hair. I have been looking for a wash just like this. You may have already mentioned this, but where do you buy your wash? Also, does your hair, feel hard after the egg, mayo wash?
I'm dying at the reenactment lololol Do you have any tips on products/oils that make the hair stronger and fuller I've been natural all my life but I have some thinner spots on my head that I wanna treat please respond thanks!!!
Thanks for this. Appreciate it. I've been looking for an all natural hair care routine. I've already made my shea butter cream. Now I just need this mud wash. I wish there was a store that sells this wash.
i have a question... was it hard to manage your hair when it was shorter??? im finding it kinda hard... its not super short but it is too short to do the things that i want. what products are best for that middle stage???
YESSSSSS
I like this method a lot, 'cause like you said, it saves water.

you hair is looking SUPER healthy. I love it! I wonder if I could use bentonite clay instead of the organic wash... just cause i have a bunch of bentonite clay. Maybe if i mixed it with some oils etc and maybe some honey? I suppose it would be an experiment lol

This is exactly how I've been washing my hair for about a year now. Saves me so much time. I don't have to jump in and out of the shower 100 times.

Thanks for the suggestion - I've read about the henna and indigo dye options. However, I heard that both dry out the hair. Henna also gives you a reddish tinge which I don't want. Thanks again for the advice and if anyone has any other suggestions please send them!
