The Pistons are f-in stupid for trading this guy away. I can't stand Joe Dumars. He's ruining basketball for our city. I knew Budinger had talent, he just needed time to expose it. I cannot see how he slipped to 2nd round.
After this year, he may not have time to restructure things. It's amazing how one transaction screwed up basketball for the city of Detroit. That transaction as you know (Chauncey Billups for Allen Iverson)! My patience has run out.
chauncy im fine with, we neeeded cap room for this summer so we gave him up before he was worthless, were rebuilding around stucky, bynum, gordon, and jerebko
lol, that's because he did opt it the 2nd time. for the first time he opt for nba draft, he was predicted to be in the mid first round, but in the end he gave it up and goes to study one more year
I love basketball. I'm only 5'5 and I can dunk! I'm in my high school's varsity team and wow does it impress everybody (esp the girls lol) . It was really easy for me too, I just took the training program at snipurl[dot]com/nbatraining - anyone can do it.
Budinger is a classic MoneyBall--or MoreyBall--player. Guy does so many things well on the court. To this point he is BY FAR the best value pick of the 2009 NBA draft.
all the teams who passed on him in the first round were fucking idiot's. The dude has some serious shooting ability, once he develops a complete game he will be one of the nba's top players
@RealBudSmokinKilla his defense has a lot of potential though. he has descent awareness so far. he's got 5 blocks and twelve steals this season. and with ariza and battier to learn from his on ball D will improve. and his post defense will too probably learning from hayes, battier, landry and all those guys. sorry for that long message but i'm just so damn excited to see budinger get better and better. he's already so good. imagine when he's gonna be in his prime.
Budinger will become at the least-a solid NBA player, and at most, another Larry Bird.
People might think I'm wrong because of his draft position...but even when this guy was a freshman at U of A I knew he was going to be good. His game is made for the NBA-look at that jumper. Imagine how good he'll be when he fully adapts to the NBA, and then matures as a veteran.
He's always kind of been in the shadows though, I don't know why.
what the hell are you smoking ......... chase budinger will be Richard Jefferson #2 with less ball handling ability.....stop comparing white NBA players to other white guys just because of color when he clearly has a different skill set than Larry Bird who is a hall of famer
Youtube chase budinger Volleyball or Chasebudinger dunk contest.......coming out of highschool he had a 48 inch vert recorded.......his dunk contests and volleyball videos are more indicitive..........i am not the type of person to come out a say a white boy has hops but he has an extreme vert regardless.
actually budinger is a high flyer and shooter/ scorer he has a 40 inch vertical check out some of his dunks I'm and arizona wildcat fan so Ive seen all of his games and he does have ball handling ability and can see the court an excellent passer the only thing he lacks right now is defense but its improving and have gotten better
i agree that he will become a solid nba player but this dude is way more athletic now than larry bird was in his prime, but yea hes gonna be nasty once he develops and perfects that nice j that he has.
yeah being and arizona wildcats fan NBA GMs are crazy for passing over chase and blair also what is the point of drafting overseas players if they are not ready and can't come of right a way there are alot of steals in the 2nd round this year, because too many good college players were passed over look at sam young
First, it seems clearer (Vegas summer league) and clearer (this game) that a lot of NBA GMs will have to explain why it was they let Chase fall to number 44. If they had any shame, their faces would be redder than his hair.
Second, very few rookies play both good offense and good defense. The offense is already there (and wait till he gets comfortable passing!), the defense will likely come.
I was for certain he would get drafted in the first round. Then he fell all the way straight to the Pistons and I got excited. Then they trade him, which I knew was a mistake. He did good in the summer league and in the pre-season debut. He kind of reminds me of Kevin Martin, not as good as Kevin but similar physique and athletic ability.
Pretty shot (shades of Bird) and athletic, too. Looks like he might become what Ammo was supposed to be in the NBA (still pulling for him, but how is he gonna get time on the Lakers?).
C'mon on people.......first someone said he's going to be a candidate for ROY and now this.
Chase isn't even a average NBA defender. He played poor defense "AT BEST" tonight.
Chase is a shooter/scorer. He's going to be our bench shooter this season..our designated gunner, a guy who's going to help fill the void left by Wafer leaving....you know, part of the bench mob.
I'm actually quite impressed with Chase and I feel he maybe someone who can help fill the void left by Yao, because come on one player isn't going to be able to fill that void. It will take many players from different positions on the teams and I feel Ariza will be another main piece to that puzzle, but also Scola stepping up harder and he is capable of doing so. Also, obvious AB and Landry stepping up harder, but I feel this isn't a Rockets team you can overlook and they're very talented.

Richard Jefferson?
So Budinger is a high flying, alley oop taking, muscular small forward?
Thats not exactly what I remember, or what we see on this tape. He's just a guy with a good jumper who can also play inside.

zndprophet: YES! You obviously haven't watch him often enough he has a 48 inch vertical and yeah 6'7' 220 is the exact same build lol
