My son was born in April 1988. Today he has gotten his master's in business. He has watched his father love elton john all of his life. I tried to impress upon him to "do your work." For 40 plus years this guy elton john and bernie have my personal heroes. Only john lennon could have surpassed them. If you do one thing in your life: go for the creative!
jon sugarfoot moffett on drums...big red...nice guy invited us to the after party...went to the hotel bar and hung with the band..sans elton...it was fun..they were great ...fun night ...
I saw his Reg Strikes Back show at the Hollywood Bowl in Sept 1988 where he performed this and many other of his lesser known songs. Would love to hear the entire show.
I have one from 1982 but it's Kansas City. Amazing concert.
This version of "Danny Bailey" is incredible. A lot rougher and more powerful and emotional than even the album version. I have this show on cd, it's really an awesome show with Elton in top form. The only problem is my copy is missing "Funeral For A Friend / Love Lies Bleeding." If anyone has the version of the song that show and can send me an MP3, it'd be greatly appreciated.
Its a mystery to me as to why he didnt play this live more often. Its an awesome song, my second favourite of all time, and it translates extremely well live.
remember seeing him at poplar creek in 1987, but don't remember him doing this tune. Always loved this song, one my EJ favorites. Thx for posting it!!
Pretty good considering how f***ed up on drugs and booze Elton was at the time. The fact that he survived between the years '86 and '90 before rehab is amazing
IS TAHT SO G@NO200 IS the bomb great performance this whole perofrmance is on wolfgangs vault i think you can buy the tracks good job postin!!! great live stuff

Kyle Thank you so much for posting this. I have all of the old Telarc reissue LP's of these albums, but this is a superior version. Thanks again.

You can listen to the whole show at Wolfgang's Vault. Wolfgang also has
Elton John shows from October 1986 in
Los Angeles and July 1982 in Saratoga
Springs, New York and also a Westwood One
interview with Elton from the fall of 1984.

One of the few Tours where Elton played Danny Bailey, which is one of my all time faves by Elton.
I saw this Tour, a week before this recording, in Miami.
Fantastic concert, but the air conditioning went out in the Miami Arena during the show ;-(
